At that moment, the person I was most grateful for was my grandfather. Had it not been for his relentless training, I would never possess such a physique.

Facing Red Fiend’s assault, not only did I deflect every attack, but with each contact, I took away a vicious soul from its body.

Soon enough, the eyes atop Red Fiend’s head were no longer able to move, and the arms writhing across its belly were all broken by me.

The ever-smiling face of Red Fiend stood in stark contrast to the wails it uttered.

With a grin, I tilted my head and looked at Uncle Li standing behind Red Fiend.

But Uncle Li’s attention was not on me. Since Yu Nie had appeared, it seemed that even the defeat of both Red and White Fiends was of little importance to him.

From the fervent gaze with which Uncle Li watched Yu Nie, I sensed a kind of obsessive madness—a yearning for something.

It reminded me of when I was a child and obsessed with Iron Gallant Train Hero; I would stand before the shop window, refusing to leave, even if my grandfather beat me. I would throw tantrums, rolling on the ground, using my eyes to express my unwavering desire for it.

Uncle Li’s current expression was exactly as mine had been as a child, so intense it made him completely ignore the predicament of the Red and White Fiends.

Staring at Yu Nie, Uncle Li’s eyes radiated a wild fanaticism, prompting him to throw his head back and howl, “He Chuan, He Chuan! To let me see Yu Nie again, you’ve finally done something right! Hahaha!”

Neither I nor Yu Nie understood Uncle Li’s words.

But as soon as he finished speaking, Uncle Li raised both hands and waved.

The Red Fiend, who had been lunging toward me, was suddenly sucked away by a tremendous force. When it regained its balance, Uncle Li had it firmly by the neck—just as he did with the White Fiend before Yu Nie.

In Uncle Li’s grasp, the Red and White Fiends were as motionless as puppets.

“Heh heh…” Uncle Li chuckled grotesquely, clutching both fiends’ necks and smashing their heads together.

The moment their foreheads collided, both fiends began to twist and contort, slowly melding together, like a spinning diagram of yin and yang.

“Go!” Uncle Li shouted, and the forcibly fused Red and White Fiend stood before Yu Nie and me once more.

This time, the two fiends were one; its head spun a full three hundred and sixty degrees atop its neck, two faces—one crying, one laughing.

Now, it was the smiling face of Red Fiend that stared at us.

Suddenly, a pair of hands rested atop its shoulders, and another head emerged from its right, none other than Uncle Li himself.

Uncle Li’s expression was grotesquely twisted—he tried to smile, yet struggled to control his features.

He gave the fused fiend a gentle push, “Go…”

The eyes on Red Fiend’s face were tightly shut, but at Uncle Li’s command, they snapped open, the corners of its mouth stretching to an unimaginable height.

I drew a deep breath, ready to strike first, but just as I was about to act, a profoundly negative voice echoed within me.

“Run! The fused Red and White Fiend—I’m sure I’m no match!”

Fused together, its evil doubled…

For a moment, negative emotions filled my mind.

“Amitabha! Jiang Huai, protect your spirit! Don’t let the White Fiend deceive you!”

Yu Nie’s voice jolted me out of my stupor, dispelling the negativity. I turned to look at him, puzzled.

Yu Nie explained that after the fusion, the new fiend before us possessed the abilities of both Red and White.

I took a deep breath, slapped myself, shook my head, and looked up at that loathsome face. “Whether you’re split or fused, you’re just a fiend with a few extra tricks and a little more life!”

I charged at it, aiming a palm strike at its face.

But it vanished before me in a cloud of blue smoke, without warning.

I expected it to attack from another angle and spun around, searching, only to find its target was Yu Nie!

I was about to rush to his aid, but Uncle Li blocked my path, arms crossed, his smile cold and mocking. “As long as you don’t interfere with me capturing my new toy, I’ll give you a chance to live.”

He pointed to the unconscious He Chuan. “Smash his head, and I promise you’ll leave this ancient temple alive.”

I burst out laughing, hands on my hips. “So should I thank you for not killing me?”

Uncle Li sneered, then placed a stone at my feet. “Use this stone. Smash it a hundred times.”

Smiling, I wiped sweat from my brow and licked my lips.

I bent down, picked up the stone, weighed it in my hand, and cast a sidelong glance at Uncle Li.

Seeing me look at him, Uncle Li continued, “Opportunities are few—you’d better…”

Without letting him finish, I hurled the stone straight at Uncle Li.

Just as it was about to hit, he reached out with his left hand and caught it firmly.

With a squeeze, he crushed it to powder.

Looking at him again, I saw his face full of vicious malice. “Since you’re courting death, I’ll oblige you.”

Uncle Li struck. His movements and power were exceptional.

In the blink of an eye, I had already taken his blows—all landing on my waist and abdomen.

Before him, I had no chance to counter.

Barely managing to steady myself, I looked up and met Uncle Li’s sinister eyes.

Without a word, he grabbed my throat with one hand, and with the other, punched my stomach again and again.

Pain—nothing but pain. I had no words to describe what I was feeling.

I tried to scream, but his grip on my throat left me voiceless.

I felt oxygen draining from my mouth, my face reddening.

“Heh heh…” Uncle Li cackled. “Hate me, hate me fiercely! The deeper your resentment, the happier I am!”

Uncle Li was a madman, a complete lunatic. His blows had me coughing up blood.

“Puh…”

Blood splattered on Uncle Li’s face. He frowned, wiped it off, and sniffed it.

The next second, his eyes widened in shock. “Such potent yang energy!”

Greedily, he licked the blood from his hand, thoroughly disgusting me.

“With your blood, what fiend can’t I control?”

Uncle Li laughed manically, and with a sleight of hand, produced a dagger.

I saw only the tip, inching closer to my eye.

I summoned all my strength, gripping his wrist with both hands, but Uncle Li was so strong I couldn’t budge him—not even a fraction, especially with my throat clamped.

Closer and closer—just a bit more and he would pierce my eye!

But suddenly, Uncle Li’s head snapped backwards!
