At this moment, I absolutely could not let Lin Feng lead me by the nose.

So I knew I had to take the initiative first.

After I finished speaking, I immediately hung up the phone.

Then I turned off Fatty’s phone.

I then crouched down to look at Fatty and said, “Fatty, I can tell you’re the leader among these guys. Here’s the deal: I’ll give you a chance. If you tell me who all the members of the Golden Cicada Society are and where they are, I might go easy on you!”

“Dream on! You think I’d believe your lies?” he spat back.

I reached out and patted Fatty’s cheek. “You don’t believe me?”

“You’d have to kill me before I come out of the society!” he snarled.

I sighed helplessly, thought for a moment, and then switched off the recorder I always carried.

My expression grew cold as I stood aside and looked at the tied-up group. “Whoever is willing to tell me everything I want to know, I promise to spare your life. I, Jiang Huai, don’t joke around.”

Maybe my words sounded a bit unbelievable, so I decided to get tougher.

I picked up a stone from the ground and walked up to Fatty. “You really don’t want to cooperate with me?”

“Cooperate with you? Jiang Huai, don’t think you can be arrogant just because you have some skills. If you dare to do anything to us, Grandma will make sure we get revenge... ah!”

Before he could finish the word “revenge,” I smashed the stone against his face.

One hit, two hits...

My face remained expressionless as I mechanically continued pounding.

Soon, Fatty lost consciousness completely.

His teeth shattered everywhere, blood splattered all over my face, but I had no intention of stopping.

As I continued, I looked at the remaining men and asked, “Anyone else willing to cooperate now?”

When no one answered, I struck two more times, only to feel as if I was hitting a rubber ball.

Fatty’s face was unrecognizable. I sighed, “Not easy to break, huh? I haven’t even scared you to death yet.”

Saying that, I threw away the stone and picked up another.

I approached the second man, grabbed his neck, and raised the stone. “Will you cooperate?”

“I…”

“Crack!”

I didn’t give him a chance to finish; the stone smashed into his mouth, silencing him forever.

Honestly, I felt conflicted inside. I wanted them to tell me everything, yet part of me wished they would say nothing.

Because I wasn’t sure if I wanted these people to continue living in this world.

The memory of the cave scene made my anger flare from head to toe.

All people are equal, so why did these Golden Cicada Society bastards treat their own kind like commodities?

Did they still have any humanity left?

“I’ll talk! I have the member roster on me! It has detailed records of their identities and the latest updates!”

I looked without expression at the last little dwarf, who was so frightened by my appearance he had wet himself. “I’ll tell you everything! I even know where the corpse pool is! But Lin Feng isn’t in Majiazhuang right now!”

I took a deep breath. “If you’d said so earlier, I wouldn’t be this exhausted.”

With that, I picked up the stone and approached him.

He hadn’t lied; from his pocket, I really found a notebook. A quick glance showed the contents matched what he said!

I grinned and patted his cheek. “See? Would’ve been better to tell me sooner. Now look at me, exhausted. So I think you deserve the same fate as the others!”

“Wait! Wait! I can take you to Lin Feng! I really know how! Just let me go! I’ll tell you everything!”

Find Lin Feng?

That was indeed valuable information for me, but it didn’t seem enough to buy his life.

“If you want to live, you need to tell me one more thing.”

“What thing? Ask, ask! If I know, I’ll tell you!”

I watched his companions, who, desperate to survive, grovelled and begged me on the ground like dogs. The few who were still sane glared fiercely at him, unable to speak.

“But before I agree, I have one condition: they can’t live. If they live, I die.”

I narrowed my eyes. This suited the Golden Cicada Society’s creed perfectly. He had just completely betrayed the society, and if Fatty and the others lived, the traitor would surely die.

“But I’m a good person! I won’t kill anyone. You can’t make me a murderer for your sake!”

He paused, seeing the smile on my face, quickly realizing what I meant.

“I know what to do! You don’t need to do it! I’ll do it myself!”

I laughed heartily, untied his ropes, and, to my surprise, he ended Fatty and the others’ lives himself.

“Well then, everything that needed to be done has been done. Isn’t it time you told me everything?”
