Afterword: A Few Authorial Musings

The story concludes as it began: with a wedding night.
Now that the story is finished, I feel a profound sense of loss and emptiness; I am truly reluctant to let it go. Yet, I have always believed that the love story of Qiao Zhen and Qin Yichi continues in another world, where they will remain blissfully happy, whether in their past lives or the present.
Before I even began, I wanted to write a sweet little story where "the princess doesn't choose the prince, but turns instead to the knight."
Qiao Zhen is forever sincere and kind. Even after being hurt by so many, she has maintained the purest and most beautiful heart. "Beautiful, kind, and sweet-voiced" is the perfect way to describe her.
Qin Yichi, on the other hand, wears two faces. To others, he is aloof, cold, and unyielding, but the moment he sees Qiao Zhen, he always reveals a tender, doting side.
A little bunny and a big gray wolf, each serving as the other’s salvation, rushing toward one another.
Every time I wrote their sweet moments, I would be so overcome that I’d roll around on my bed, needing a long while to calm down before I could continue typing.
To name a few of the moments that thrilled me:
The leg massage at the basketball game; the haunted house at the amusement park; staying up all night talking on the phone; being drunk at the hot springs; the favoritism and good fortune of Christmas Eve; New Year’s Eve and the first snowfall; Qin Yichi feigning drunkenness to be fed; Qiao Zhen staying at Qin Yichi’s place while intoxicated; and, of course, the moment they confessed their feelings...
There were simply too many. I wonder which one was your favorite.

It wasn't just Qiao Zhen whose heart was moved; I was deeply stirred as well.
I am especially fond of the dormitory "strategy team"—the three girls who shine in their own respective fields. I’m certain the "Brother Chi" squad will also grow up to be successful and accomplished.
Everyone will be just fine.
As the saying goes, birds of a feather flock together; those who truly love you will ensure that their friends respect you as well.

This was my first time writing a youth campus novel, and I constantly fell into self-doubt, worried that I wouldn't do it justice.
Adding the element of "dreaming of fragments from a past life" made me fear that readers skipping chapters might get lost. These dreams only contained small emotional slivers—perhaps 5% of their total past memories—otherwise, it would have been a reincarnation story, which is quite different.
I originally wrote this as a high school campus story and even had a hundred thousand words saved, but the first few chapters kept failing review, so I had to change it to university.
This meant some plots couldn't be shown, which was a bit of a blow. However, the upside was that the "speed of the vehicle" could be significantly increased!
Not only did "Brother Happy" get his fill, but I enjoyed writing it too. I hope you enjoyed reading it.
Writing this afterword is primarily my way of thanking all my dear readers.

Now that it’s over, I can’t bear to part with Qiao, I can’t bear to part with Yichi, and I certainly can’t bear to part with all of you.
At the beginning, I wasn't very confident in this story, but fortunately, many of you accompanied me along the way, giving me so much confidence. I also have a feeling there is a group of mysterious and aloof readers who rarely comment but have been faithfully following the updates—thank you as well.
I love saying goodnight to everyone; seeing your comments always makes me happy, as if I’ve fallen into a jar of honey.
There are so many comments that I may not have been able to interact with everyone, but regardless, I wish all the little angels behind the screen happiness, beauty, and prosperity every day! May your studies and work grow ever more brilliant!
