Chapter 141: Stunning the Audience
"I invite our mysterious master to come out and accept the challenge!"
As the host finished speaking, all eyes in the arena turned toward the entrance. Xia Yu stood inside, eyes narrowed. He had watched the way Xu Minjie entered the ring and was quite surprised by the man's strength; he hadn't expected to encounter a true expert. Seeing Xu make a throat-slitting gesture of defiance on the stage instantly ignited his fighting spirit.
"Young Master Yu, that guy looks incredibly strong. Are you sure... you want to go up there and fight?" He Wei, standing beside him, was still uneasy. The opponent was clearly aggressive, and if anything were to happen to Xia Yu, the Xia family would never forgive him.
"Don't worry. I gave you my word, and I won't lose." Xia Yu smiled, remaining completely relaxed.
"Why hasn't he come out yet? Could he be scared?"
"He must be scared. That guy on stage looks so fierce; it's only natural he wouldn't dare to fight."
"Haha, it looks like Boss He is going to lose face tonight."
Jeers began to rise from the audience. In the private box upstairs, He Dong and his associates looked pale and distressed. They hadn't expected their opponent to send such a formidable fighter, one who had intimidated everyone from the moment he arrived.
"Big Brother, I told you, counting on him was a mistake."
"Indeed. Sigh, it seems our place is destined to be wrecked tonight. I'm afraid the boxing gym won't survive." The henchmen around him looked dejected.
"Shut your mouths!" Although He Dong lacked confidence, he knew Xia Yu wasn't a fool. If he dared to step into the ring, he must have his own plan; he wouldn't be playing around.
Just as everyone assumed Xia Yu was too terrified to appear, a figure finally walked slowly out of the entrance. He wore casual clothes, had sunny, short hair, and handsome features. He didn't look special at all—just an ordinary, good-looking man.
"He's here, he's out..." The arena fell silent, only to erupt moments later into mocking laughter.
"Are you kidding me? He’s the mysterious master?"
"Why do I get the feeling he's just here to die?"
"Yeah, that kid is way too young. He looks like a pampered pretty boy."
Amidst the cacophony, Xia Yu stepped onto the ring.
"It's him!" In the private box, Gu Ying was taken aback. Although she hadn't bothered to look at Xia Yu properly that day, she still recognized him. "How is it him? Ah San, you fought him last time—what was the situation?"
"Do you think he can win?" Ah San replied with disdain. "He has a few tricks, but he doesn't count as a real master. He's going to lose miserably."
"Oh, then it seems this will be a total rout. How boring." Gu Ying picked up her drink, disappointed. Had she not wanted to see Xu Minjie’s display of skill, she would have lost interest entirely.
"So, you're the mysterious master Boss He hired?" Xu Minjie stared at him with cold eyes, sneering, "I really don't want to fight a weakling. You'd better just admit defeat and get off the stage now."
Xia Yu looked at him calmly. "Oh, I don't have the habit of admitting defeat."
"Then are you afraid of dying? If I start, it'll be too late for regrets," Xu sneered.
"Hmm." Xia Yu looked at him with an air of indifference.
This relaxed attitude infuriated Xu Minjie. How could the guy remain so calm after all his threats? Was he being dismissive? He decided he would definitely teach this ignorant fool a lesson.
"If you're still standing after three moves, I'll count it as my loss." After this arrogant declaration, Xu Minjie lunged toward Xia Yu.
"A master is truly a master; he’s certainly arrogant enough."
"That kid is done for. Tsk, tsk..." Hearing Xu Minjie’s words, the audience seemed to already visualize Xia Yu's gruesome defeat.
Xu Minjie moved like a tiger descending a mountain, his power overwhelming as he threw a heavy punch at Xia Yu. People closed their eyes, unable to bear the sight of Xia Yu being crippled. It was a dangerous strike; a direct hit would likely result in immediate paralysis.
Xia Yu sensed the danger, but he remained completely unruffled. He moved. He was fast—incredibly fast. So fast that no one could see how he had managed to circle behind Xu Minjie.
Xu Minjie’s punch missed. He frowned slightly, but his reaction was swift; he used both his hands and feet to launch a ferocious counter-attack against the Xia Yu behind him. Every move was intended to kill; he clearly possessed genuine martial arts skills and deserved the title of a master.
However, to everyone’s shock, Xia Yu dodged every single blow, remaining completely unscathed. Seeing this, the crowd was taken aback. In the private box, the eyes of He Dong and his men lit up, reigniting a spark of hope.
The laymen watched the spectacle, but the experts saw the technique. Gu Ying stood up from her chair, staring at Xia Yu. "Ah San, you might be about to be proven wrong. He doesn't necessarily have to lose."
After dodging three moves, Xia Yu said to Xu Minjie, "Your Five Element Fist is practiced quite well, but it's a pity it's not enough to defeat me."
"Three moves have passed. It's my turn."
Xu Minjie was enraged. Upon hearing those words, he didn't have time to think, but seeing the corner of Xia Yu’s mouth curl up, he suddenly felt an uneasy premonition.
Like a viper that had been lying in wait, Xia Yu finally launched his attack, striking out with his fangs bared.
"Boom, boom, boom..." A series of muffled thuds echoed as fists and kicks collided. Xia Yu’s style was ruthless; he had become a completely different person. He was no longer the gentle, handsome youth, but a cold-blooded killer. His moves were vicious, his eyes devoid of arrogance but filled with a predatory bloodlust. Under his relentless barrage, his presence completely eclipsed the once-confident Xu Minjie.
"Boom!" Xu Minjie was struck hard in the chest by a kick, flying back two meters before crashing onto the ring.
The entire arena erupted in an uproar, followed by a collective gasp of shock that left the place deathly silent. Everyone was stunned, clearly overwhelmed by what they had just witnessed. Xu Minjie’s clothes were torn, fresh blood oozing from his wounds as he spat out a mouthful of crimson.
"He... he won."
"Big Brother, Young Master Yu actually won!"
In the private box, excited cheers broke out. He Dong let out a sigh of relief and turned to laugh at his men, "You have the nerve to be happy? Don't forget who just said we couldn't count on Young Master Yu!"
"My... my mistake."
"It was our lack of vision; we didn't realize Young Master Yu was so formidable."
"Indeed, it is truly eye-opening. To have such incredible skills at such a young age."
It wasn't just them. The audience gradually came to their senses, staring in disbelief at Xia Yu, who stood on the ring like a king.
"That guy is way too strong."
"Damn, I misjudged him. If only I had bet on him."
Xia Yu withdrew his sharp aura and walked over to Xu Minjie, saying faintly, "You lost."
Xu Minjie looked up at him, clutching his chest as he struggled to stand, his mouth moving but unable to speak. It was clear this battle had dealt him a heavy blow.
Xia Yu continued, "You are the strongest opponent I have encountered since returning to the country."
"You are also the only one who forced me to use eighty percent of my power. So, even though you lost, you have nothing to be ashamed of."
"Are you pitying me?" Xu Minjie gritted his teeth. "I don't need it!"
Xia Yu narrowed his eyes, revealing a mysterious, cryptic smile.
