Bai Yuxi, dressed in a champagne-colored gown, stood on the window ledge in a trance. Almost without hesitation, she pitched her entire body straight forward!

The crowd erupted in screams at the sight!

In the nick of time, a hand reached out from the window and gripped Bai Yuxi’s arm tightly!

Shi Xianyu felt as if her heart were about to leap out of her throat.

It was Xia Yu!

Earlier, when everyone’s attention was drawn to Lu Min, Bai Yuxi had slipped away quietly. Xia Yu must have spotted her while passing the second floor, followed her all the way to the building across the way, and caught her at that very moment.

Bai Yuxi’s entire body was dangling outside the window, held fast by Xia Yu’s desperate grip!

Shi Xianyu broke out in a cold sweat and immediately shouted, "All of you men! Go to the teaching building and help Xia Yu! Women, go grab mattresses—bring every mattress and pillow you can find down below! We cannot let Bai Yuxi die here!!!"

Panic had left everyone directionless, but hearing Shi Xianyu’s command, they acted without a second thought. Half of them rushed toward the teaching building, while the others scrambled to collect mattresses.

Shi Xianyu and Zhou Bushan also sprinted toward the building in a frenzy.

"Bai Yuxi must have been possessed by a spirit; otherwise, she wouldn't be in such a daze, seeking her own death!" Shi Xianyu asked Zhou Bushan as they ran, "Is there still time for an exorcism?"

Zhou Bushan was drenched in sweat, the compass and copper bells on his body clattering with every step. "First... first let’s pull her up. Chanting and performing rites takes time, and I’m afraid Xia Yu can’t hold on much longer..."

Wang Aiguo cursed as he ran, "That bastard! I knew he was playing us! Xie Ting never had a brother! She didn't die! I even went shopping with her before coming to this reunion—where could there be such deep-seated hatred? It’s all bullshit!!!"

Shi Xianyu snapped at him, "Why didn't you say that sooner?!"

Wang Aiguo stumbled, "…He made it sound so real, so I… I hesitated."

Shi Xianyu was speechless.

A sudden cry of alarm pierced the air. She looked up to see that not only was Bai Yuxi dangling outside, but more than half of Xia Yu’s body was being dragged over the ledge as well! Xia Yu was reaching her limit!

Before Xia Yu’s eyes, Bai Yuxi’s face was pale as paper, with eerie black mist seeping from her mouth, nose, and eyes. Trembling with fear, Xia Yu sobbed uncontrollably, yet she dared not loosen her grip. She shouted, "Get out! Get out of her body!"

Bai Yuxi opened her mouth, but the voice that emerged was a man’s, raspy and cold: "Why… are you not dead… you deserve to die… all of you… you all deserve to die…"

Xia Yu froze, staring in terror at the person before her.

"Du Xiaoling is dead… Wan Qianqian is dead… and you, you and Bai Yuxi… you all deserve to die…" Her mouth moved mechanically, her expression unchanging like a puppet being manipulated. "Must die… not a single one spared… all of you… deserve to die…"

The black mist grew thicker, winding up Bai Yuxi’s arms like venomous snakes, encroaching upon Xia Yu.

Frozen in fear, Xia Yu watched as the mist neared her hands. She let out a scream, her fingers slipped, and Bai Yuxi’s body plummeted downward with a jolt!

"No!" Xia Yu cried, grabbing her again. "Please, let us go! We were wrong! I’m sorry! We were wrong! Please, just let us go!"

A strange, eerie laugh bubbled from Bai Yuxi’s throat: "Heh… what sisterhood… it’s all a lie…"

The black mist continued to rise. Xia Yu sobbed in terror, but she did not dare let go, knowing that if she did, Bai Yuxi would truly be lost.

"Xia Yu! Hang on! We’re coming to help!"

Several male students arrived, grabbing Xia Yu’s arms and legs to keep her from being pulled down with Bai Yuxi.

Shi Xianyu rushed up the stairs, breathless, and reached the window. She pulled out two talismans and flung them downward!

The distance was too great; one talisman drifted away, while the other only grazed Bai Yuxi’s shoulder. The black mist recoiled as if burned, and Bai Yuxi fixed a venomous, hateful glare on Shi Xianyu.

"Damn you…" her mouth moved again. "You all… deserve to die…"

"You are not Xie Ting!" Shi Xianyu shouted. "Who are you?! Did you kill Du Xiaoling?"

Bai Yuxi sneered at them, the black mist swirling around her, making her complexion look like that of a corpse.

Xia Yu’s arms were being sliced by the window ledge, leaving deep red welts. She wept in despair and terror, pleading, "We know we were wrong… please, let us go, let Yuxi go, I beg you…"

"Let’s all… die together…" Bai Yuxi’s eyes clouded over with the black mist, turning into pits of endless darkness.

Suddenly, the weight on Xia Yu’s arms became crushing! She couldn't bear the strain, yet Bai Yuxi gripped her tightly, trying to drag her down to her death!

"Ahhh!" Xia Yu screamed in agony. A sickening crunch of a dislocated shoulder echoed, and blood streamed from her lacerated elbows.

"Don't let go!" Shi Xianyu grabbed Xia Yu, shouting to the students, "No matter what happens, do not let go!!!"

After warning them, she lunged toward the window and barked at the figure below, "Who are you?! Are you a honey-tongued bitch? A fake, innocent white lotus? A spineless pushover? Or a pathetic, social-climbing 'Phoenix Man'?—"

When she shouted the term "Phoenix Man," the black mist around Bai Yuxi shuddered violently. Bai Yuxi’s face twisted into a grotesque mask, and her black eyes trembled intensely, as if something was trying to burst out from within!

Shi Xianyu realized it instantly, gasping, "I know… you are the Phoenix Man, you are Ye Hui! The one the sisterhood called a 'Phoenix Man,' the one who jumped to his death after failing his exams!"

Bai Yuxi opened her mouth, thick black mist billowing out, "I want you to die… all of you deserve to die!…"

Shi Xianyu caught sight of Zhou Bushan below. An exorcism would take too long, and Xia Yu’s arms would be ripped off long before then. The fastest way was to force the spirit out of Bai Yuxi’s body so Zhou Bushan could act, but how?

While the spirit hid inside a human body, Zhou Bushan couldn't strike directly, but the spirit couldn't harm people directly either.

She had provoked its rage by insulting it; if she continued, would it be forced to manifest completely?

Shi Xianyu looked at Xia Yu’s mangled arms, her heart pounding, though she forced a steady expression.

She measured her words: "Ye Hui, you went through all this trouble to set up the Spirit Board game just to make the sisterhood feel the same labels you were branded with, but you’re wrong in the end. You called them 'plastic sisters,' but look—Xia Yu is risking her life to save Bai Yuxi! That proves you are dead wrong! Even if you kill them now, everyone will only remember them as true sisters—bonded by a friendship as strong as gold!"
