Chapter 68 0070: I Said I Belong to You
Jiang City.
The Yi family.
The head of the Yi family slammed a document report onto the desks of all the family members.
“Where is Tianxing?” he asked, his face grim.
Yi Tianxing’s father sat below with his head lowered, silent.
“I’m asking you, where is your son?” The head of the Yi family roared at Yi Tianxing’s father. “Don’t try to hide him!”
“Father, please give him another chance,” pleaded Yi Tianxing’s mother. “He’s just a child—he didn’t know any better.”
“He didn’t know any better!” The head of the family bellowed, hurling the document at the woman’s face. “Does that mean you did? You backed him, let him spend a fortune to buy that intermediate body-strengthening elixir to bribe Cao Zheng. Do you realize what a disaster you’ve caused? This was uncovered by Watchtower City—they dug into everything to save themselves, and the three surviving families exposed your son completely! He’s the main culprit! You want me to give him another chance? Then who gives the Yi family another chance? Bring him to me immediately. When that old monster from the Chu family arrives, you’ll see the consequences. The entire Cao family has been wiped out, and even four family heads together couldn’t stand against that monster. If he comes here, who among us can withstand him?”
Sitting to the side, Yi Jifeng took a deep breath and turned to Tianxing’s parents. “Fourth brother, sister-in-law, before they come seeking justice, handing him over is the wisest choice. If they arrive and demand blood, it won’t end with just one death. The Cao family was far bigger than us—now they’re gone, just like that.”
“But…” Tianxing’s mother hesitated. “Can’t we go to the city lord? They’re from Watchtower City, crossing into our Jiang City—shouldn’t the lord intervene?”
“That’s exactly who sent me this,” the head of the Yi family roared. “The city lord told me directly: do not let that old monster come here—there’ll be carnage!”
Yi Jifeng had lost his earlier arrogance. He said to Tianxing’s parents, “This is the only way to protect the family.”
Tianxing’s mother could only collapse into her husband’s arms, weeping.
“He’s hiding in a house under my name,” Tianxing’s father confessed.
The head of the Yi family waved his hand and looked to Yi Jifeng. “Go. Give him a merciful death, then deliver him to the Ye family. Bring gifts as an apology—make sure you get their forgiveness. If you can’t, don’t come back.”
Yi Jifeng hesitated. “Father, can I not go? I’m afraid I’ll run into that old monster.”
“You’re the ones who stirred up this trouble,” the head roared. “How can it be sincere if you don’t go? Go there, show proper remorse, and even if you’re beaten or killed, as long as the rest of the Yi family is spared, you can return!”
Yi Jifeng answered in a trembling voice, “Yes!”
He had no choice but to steel himself and go. He’d watched the video of the incident from start to finish—he knew very well, if he ran into that old monster, someone of his level would be killed in a single move.
Yi Tianxing, hiding in his father’s property, was on edge. His phone was off, so no one could track him, and even his biometric tracker was disabled.
He was waiting for the storm to pass, hoping his mother would come and tell him it was safe to go out.
When someone knocked at the door of the villa, his heart skipped a beat.
“Who is it?”
No one answered. Sensing something was wrong, Yi Tianxing bolted for the window. Smashing through the glass, he leaped from the second floor, but at the exit below, Yi family guards blocked his way.
From behind, Yi Jifeng also jumped down and called out, “Tianxing, it’s for the family!”
Yi Tianxing shook his head and shouted in fury, “Everyone’s at fault—why do I have to pay the price alone?”
Suddenly, Yi Jifeng locked his arms around Tianxing’s neck from behind. Tianxing struggled desperately, clawing at his uncle’s clothes until they tore, but Yi Jifeng, leveraging his superior strength, strangled his own nephew with his bare hands.
“Don’t blame your uncle. You started this—if you don’t die, the entire Yi family will.”
Evening fell.
Carrying Yi Tianxing’s severed head, Yi Jifeng arrived at the Hou family estate for another meeting with Hou Yaodong. “Second Brother, I don’t know if I’ll make it back alive this time, but I truly realize my mistake. Please, come with me and put in a word on my behalf.”
With that, Yi Jifeng bowed deeply.
Hou Yaodong glanced at the box containing Tianxing’s head and gave a quiet laugh. “If you’d known it would come to this, you wouldn’t have done what you did. I tried to warn you. Honestly, even if I go with you, my influence isn’t enough. Someone of that senior’s level doesn’t need my opinion to decide whether or not to kill you.”
“Second Brother!” Yi Jifeng pleaded more earnestly. “The old man instructed me to get the Ye family’s forgiveness no matter what. After what I did, I’m afraid I’ll ruin it all. Please, help me!”
Hou Yaodong glanced at the suitcase full of gifts, opening one box—inside were more than a dozen bottles of intermediate body-strengthening elixir, along with valuable antiques, calligraphy, and paintings.
“These are impressive gifts.” Hou Yaodong mused for a moment. He thought it was a good time to strengthen ties with Chu Yun. After the recent events, the Hou family head had ordered him to build a solid relationship with the Chu family. Before, they hadn’t known the true strength of that senior, but after this display, all cards were on the table. Chu Yun’s future achievements would likely be far from ordinary.
Therefore, he needed to act quickly to make himself more familiar to the Chu family.
“Very well, I’ll go with you.”
Watchtower City.
After two days’ leave, Chu Yun returned to the academy and heard from Hou Manman that Zhang Yang and the others were in the hospital.
As class monitor, Chu Yun went to visit them and found the group in tears and snot.
“Monitor, you’re back! Finally, you’re back! If you hadn’t returned, we wouldn’t have survived!” Wang Biao said, his face full of misery.
“What happened?” Chu Yun asked in surprise. “Did you get beaten that badly?”
He saw all the team members wrapped in bandages and gauze, their faces bruised and swollen.
Hou Manman chuckled softly. “You emboldened them. After you put those Longjiang team members in the hospital, our guys went to visit—and taunted them mercilessly, venting all their previous resentment. They nearly insulted their whole family. But then you took leave and skipped training that very day, and the Longjiang guys hunted them down at the training field for a vicious beating. You were gone for two days, and before midnight each night, Zhang Yang and the others lived a nightmare. They were pummeled two days straight!”
Chu Yun’s expression grew odd.
So it turned out that, thinking he was around, his team went to provoke and mock the Longjiang crew. But then, because of the sudden trouble with the Ye family, Chu Yun took two days’ leave, and the Longjiang team seized the chance to unleash all their pent-up rage.
Turning to Hou Manman, Chu Yun asked, “Why didn’t you get beaten?”
Hou Manman beamed. “I told them I was on your side, and you’d be back sooner or later—so they could do as they pleased.”
Chu Yun: “...”
