In an instant, her eyes shimmered with a watery brilliance; Ye Linglong was genuinely surprised by Chu Yun’s words. Then, with natural composure, she looked at Chu Yun and said, “That’s good.” With those words, she walked away.

Yi Tianxing, seeing Chu Yun’s posture, allowed a faint smile to play at the corner of his mouth. “I heard that in last year’s assessment, you were only ranked Warrior Level One—your results weren’t even enough to get into Sentinel City’s top martial academy. I imagine you’ve made some progress over the past year. Why not share with us what level you’ve reached now? If I may ask, have you at least reached Warrior Level Two?”

As he spoke, several uncles from the Yi family couldn’t help but chuckle.

“Do you have to talk so much just to start a fight?” Chu Yun sneered.

With that, Chu Yun suddenly moved—one step, and he was right beside Yi Tianxing, striking out with his palm!

By the time Yi Tianxing realized it, Chu Yun was already before him. Instinctively, he raised both arms to block. He thought that even if Chu Yun’s palm landed, it would be nothing to worry about. Yet the instant Chu Yun’s palm struck his arm, a force like thunder numbed his entire body.

Yi Tianxing staggered back five steps from the impact!

Ye Linglong’s lips parted in shock. Even she hadn’t caught Chu Yun’s sudden movement.

The Yi family all narrowed their eyes.

Hou Yaodong, witnessing Chu Yun’s display, allowed a smile to lift his lips. As expected, the junior of a true master could never be ordinary. Judging by the strength of that sudden attack alone, Chu Yun was at least a Warrior Level Four!

Seventeen years old and already at Level Four—it wasn’t extraordinary, but it was still enough to put him on the rankings for his age on the Continent of Hope.

After forcing Yi Tianxing back, Chu Yun withdrew his hand and swept Yi Tianxing with a calm glance. “What level do you think I am now?”

Yi Tianxing was surprised by Chu Yun’s strength, but not shocked. He thought he’d been caught off guard only because he assumed Chu Yun was just at Level One or Two.

Seeing Chu Yun’s slightly smug expression, Yi Tianxing rubbed his arm and scoffed, “Warrior Level Four, perhaps? And you’re already this proud? With that, I doubt you’ll even pass this year’s assessments to stay at the academy.”

“Is that so?” Chu Yun gave a soft laugh.

The next moment, he repeated his earlier move. As soon as he was about to strike, Yi Tianxing, having learned his lesson, narrowed his eyes and braced himself to block and counterattack.

Yet even prepared, he was still a beat too slow. When Chu Yun’s palm flashed toward him, he could do nothing but defend—Chu Yun was even faster this time!

Yi Tianxing prided himself on being ready, even steadying his stance for defense. Still, he was forced back three steps by Chu Yun!

Yi Jifeng, witnessing Chu Yun’s second attack was even faster and more powerful than the first, blurted out, “Warrior Level Six!”

Hou Yaodong’s smile grew broader.

Standing nearby, Ye Zhenhuan was incredulous. “How did he go from Level One to Level Six in just a year?”

Ye Linglong, too, stared blankly at Chu Yun, shaking her head slightly. “I have no idea.”

Everyone in the Ye household exchanged looks. With such strength and talent, why would Chu Yun marry into their family as a son-in-law? He could easily be courted by any great clan!

Seventeen years old and at Level Six—a true genius! Ye Linglong herself was considered a prodigy among women for reaching Level Six at sixteen. With this strength, Chu Yun could become a guardian for any powerful family.

Yi Tianxing, now forced back, looked at Chu Yun in disbelief and shock. His eyes were filled with utter incredulity.

“This is impossible!” he blurted. “No genius could possibly rise from Level One to Level Six in a single year!”

“Is that really so surprising?” Chu Yun said coolly. “If someone like you is amazed by me, I don’t think it’s much to boast about.”

“Still putting on airs!” Yi Tianxing snorted, then his expression turned serious. “It seems I’ll have to use real strength if I want to defeat you. You attacked twice; shall we see if you can take my strike?”

Chu Yun replied, “Why do you people have to talk so much before a fight? I’m different—I prefer to knock someone down first and talk later.”

“Fine. Let’s see if you’ll still be talking after this.” Yi Tianxing snorted and launched his attack.

His speed was no less than Chu Yun’s earlier display. While Chu Yun struck with his palm, Yi Tianxing used his fist—his intent clear: he meant to crush Chu Yun.

Ye Linglong watched as Yi Tianxing shot toward Chu Yun like an arrow. Her brows furrowed; she had to admit, the gap between Level Six and Level Seven was real. If she were in Chu Yun’s place, she might not be able to take that punch head-on—she’d have to dodge.

But wait!

Watching the trajectory of Yi Tianxing’s punch, Ye Linglong suddenly saw it stop in midair—caught by a large hand!

Her pupils contracted. Focusing her gaze, she saw Chu Yun standing firm, catching Yi Tianxing’s fist solidly. His stance was immovable, his feet not shifting an inch.

The entire Ye and Yi families were struck dumb with disbelief.

A full-force blow from a Level Seven warrior had been caught as if it were nothing!

Even more stunned was Yi Tianxing himself. Staring at his fist, all his power neutralized by Chu Yun’s grip, he was left utterly bewildered.

Ye Linglong’s breathing quickened.

Chu Yun, regarding the dazed Yi Tianxing, asked, “Can you see my strength now?”

The next instant, he seized Yi Tianxing’s wrist and hurled him, sending him crashing into a tree in the courtyard.

Yi Tianxing tried to steady himself in midair, but Chu Yun’s throw was too forceful. Before he could recover, he slammed into the tree, a sharp pain in his throat, and he couldn’t help but cough up blood.

Chu Yun dusted himself off and said, “With strength like mine, I still have to marry in as a son-in-law—where do you get the confidence to come here and propose?”

“What did you say?!” Yi Jifeng, infuriated by the taunt, roared.

“Ye Zhenhuan, to humiliate our Tianxing, your Ye family actually hired a ringer to impersonate him? Is this your way of making enemies of the Yi family?” The Yi family, unable to bear the shame, immediately turned hostile.

Just then, Hou Yaodong shouted at Yi Jifeng, “Isn’t he right? If you can’t afford to lose face, you’d better get used to being trampled!”

“Second Brother, can’t you see the Ye family deliberately brought in a ringer to provoke Tianxing and cripple him?” Yi Jifeng argued unreasonably.

“Whoever touches Chu Yun, I’ll deal with them!” Hou Yaodong roared at the Yi family. If he’d had any doubts about that mysterious senior’s strength before, Chu Yun’s display left no room for question. Hou Yaodong now believed an alliance with the Chu family was worth more than offending the Yi family. Chu Yun’s strength was proof enough that the mysterious senior was formidable; offending the Yi family no longer seemed like a big deal!

“Don’t push me!” Yi Jifeng said darkly.

“Chu Yun’s right. Your whole family talks too much before a fight,” Hou Yaodong said. “If you want to fight, just come here—enough chatter.”
