Chapter 20: Huang Shan's Mansion
Chapter 020: Huang Shan's Mansion
Returning to Huang Shan's residence, Ye Feng was once again stunned by the luxuriousness of her villa. He prided himself on having seen many opulent homes during previous missions, yet compared to Huang Shan’s, they all seemed to pale in comparison. The grand and imposing exterior radiated an air of majesty, and upon entering the hall, Ye Feng was left even more speechless.
Delicate and elegant decorations, splendid murals, plush carpets, grand sectional sofas, and lavish crystal chandeliers emitted a soft, gentle glow. The excellent ventilation ensured the interior was as warm as spring, with exceptionally clean air. Of course, all this was built on a foundation of wealth, and the scene before his eyes made Ye Feng regard Huang Shan with newfound admiration.
Huang Shan noticed Ye Feng’s astonished expression and couldn’t help but smile. To her, this was nothing unusual; after all, she had spent a fortune hiring foreign designers to create this unique space, the only one of its kind in the provincial capital, and arguably among the most luxurious. She was confident in the grandeur of her home. “Sit anywhere you like, don’t be shy!”
“Mm, wow, Shan, your place is really something!” Ye Feng couldn’t help but praise her; it was the truth. The villa was extremely lavish, even perfect. Hearing his compliment, a blush crept over Huang Shan’s pretty face. “Oh, come on, please, make yourselves comfortable!”
After Ye Feng and Huang Wei settled down, a middle-aged woman soon appeared, carrying tea. Though age had touched her, her charm remained; she must have been a stunning beauty in her youth. Her every smile and gesture was captivating, and Ye Feng’s eyes nearly dropped to the floor. Beside him, Huang Wei glared angrily—this scoundrel always lost composure in the presence of a beautiful woman. Truly hopeless.
“Here, Wei, Ye Feng, have some tea,” Huang Shan invited. Ye Feng, still staring, didn’t hear her at all until Huang Wei nudged his arm, snapping him back to reality. That rascal! Huang Wei cursed furiously in her heart, thinking he was a man without ambition.
“Thank you, Shan. Mm, wow, this tea is really fragrant and sweet. What kind is it?” Ye Feng admitted to himself he didn’t know much about tea, but the aroma was invigorating, and the flavor was delightful, prompting his genuine praise.
“Hehe, I’m not really sure myself. It’s something a friend brought from Wuyi Mountain, I think it’s called Da Hong Pao,” Huang Shan replied with a smile. Her friend had recommended this famous tea, saying it was best reserved for distinguished guests. She had never been willing to serve it until Ye Feng and Huang Wei’s visit.
“Pfft!” Though he had never tasted much tea, Ye Feng was familiar with the renowned Da Hong Pao, said to come from a tree praised as the King of Teas. It had always been a favorite among the elite, rarely found among common folk because the upper echelons monopolized most of it.
Huang Shan then busied herself preparing dinner, while Huang Wei, acting as the hostess, led Ye Feng on a tour. Given the size of Huang Shan’s residence, it took them nearly two hours to appreciate everything. Especially the estate’s rear hills—Huang Wei didn’t take Ye Feng there, but she did bring him into a particular room.
“Oh heavens, why is this auntie in such a hurry? It’s broad daylight—could she be planning to offer herself now? If so, I’d have to give it some thought, not about whether to accept, but how to enjoy it. She’s so alluring!” Seeing Huang Wei’s fiery figure, Ye Feng swallowed hard, his thoughts running wild.
In truth, Huang Wei herself didn’t know why she had brought Ye Feng into her bedroom. She often came to the provincial capital for visits, so she had a dedicated room at Huang Shan’s house. No man had ever entered it—not even her father—but today, she brought Ye Feng in.
“Wow, this room is stunning. Who would’ve thought your aunt would have such taste?” Ye Feng assumed the room belonged to Huang Shan. Upon entering, a subtle, enchanting fragrance greeted him. On closer inspection, the room was indeed exceptional:
The interior was elegantly decorated, the layout ingenious. The floor was made of solid, rustic redwood, spotless and gleaming. Wide floor-to-ceiling windows surrounded the room, draped with Milan-colored curtains, understated and cozy. A large Simmons bed was adorned with cute little decorations—who would have thought, he mused, that Huang Shan, like a young girl, would enjoy such adorable things.
Huang Wei had hoped to receive Ye Feng’s praise and had mentally prepared herself. Instead, Ye Feng’s assumption that it was her aunt’s room nearly drove her mad—was he genuinely dense, or just pretending? Why would she bring Ye Feng to her aunt’s room? “This... this is my room.”
“I know.” Of course it was a room, so obvious. “Wait, what? This is your room?” Ye Feng was genuinely surprised. Huang Wei always seemed loud and brash, yet her room was so well kept.
“Of course. If it’s not mine, is it yours?” Huang Wei declared confidently. This rascal! Did he think so little of her? Was it so hard to believe she could have a tidy, beautiful room?
“No, no, the way this room is arranged is really impressive. Especially the décor—very authentic!” Ye Feng continued to praise her as he moved toward the Simmons bed and sprawled out, savoring its softness. It was truly exquisite, far beyond ordinary comfort.
“You—Ye Feng, you can’t sleep on my bed!” Huang Wei huffed. She refused to let men sleep on her bed; their scent would make it impossible for her to rest. But Ye Feng looked unconcerned. “What’s the big deal? Do you have to be so stingy, Huang Wei?”
“I—!” Huang Wei nearly exploded with rage. Not only was he sprawled on her bed, he dared call her stingy. She’d spent the whole afternoon buying him things—was she truly that miserly? Her main concern was the lingering scent, not frugality.
“You—get up!” Seeing Ye Feng unmoved, Huang Wei grew furious and lunged at him, her slender fingers pointed at him, her flushed cheeks like ripe apples, inviting anyone to take a bite.
But to her shock, Ye Feng reached out and pulled her in. Huang Wei stumbled and fell into his arms, her soft chest pressing against his firm torso, sending a tingling sensation through them both. Ah! It was exhilarating, Ye Feng thought smugly. See if you dare point your finger at me again.
In that moment, as she fell into Ye Feng’s embrace, Huang Wei’s mind went blank. She had no idea what had happened, only that the softness of her chest collided with something hard, and a mix of tingling pain surged through her. Looking down, she saw herself in the arms of that little scoundrel—how shameless! Huang Wei immediately tried to escape his grasp, but the more she struggled, the tighter Ye Feng’s arms held her.
