Chapter 140 Repelling the Attack
Chapter 140: Repelling the Attack
Just as Chu Yun was stunned, a sudden force pulled him backward. At the same moment, he heard a loud bang. Opening his eyes, he saw a masked man engaged in a fierce fight with the assailant. Instantly, Chu Yun recognized the masked figure as Feng Ge, though the mask was likely meant to create an air of mystery. Chu Yun exchanged a knowing glance with Liu Zhenhua and Chen Xiang.
“Who are you?” Dong blurted in surprise. He had originally planned to finish off Xingfeng Security’s general manager with a single punch. Unexpectedly, a masked man had intervened, and judging by their earlier clash, his martial skills were formidable.
“I’m the one who’ll take your life. If you dare cause trouble at Xingfeng Security, I’ll make you regret it!” Ye Feng deliberately lowered his voice to avoid being recognized. Without hesitation, Ye Feng lunged forward, aiming straight for Dong’s vital points. Meanwhile, Chu Yun, Liu Zhenhua, and Chen Xiang immediately teamed up with the security personnel.
The company’s security guards, on the verge of defeat, suddenly found the tide turning once Chu Yun and the others joined the fray. Ye Feng pressed Dong down relentlessly. Although Dong was skilled, Ye Feng was superior. As the fight dragged on, Dong grew increasingly shocked. Damn, how does this small security company have so many tough fighters? When he first clashed with Chu Yun’s group, he sensed they were no ordinary opponents, which was why he intended a swift victory.
Pushing to his limits, Dong managed to knock Chu Yun to the ground, planning to finish him off with a single blow. The idea was simple: without their leader, the rest would scatter. Yet Dong never anticipated the sudden appearance of a masked youth who caught him off guard.
Gritting his teeth, Dong resolved to fight with all he had. Transforming his fists into palms, he struck at Ye Feng’s shoulder. Ye Feng didn’t dodge; instead, he seized the moment and delivered a swift kick to Dong’s abdomen. Sensing danger, Dong retreated, but Ye Feng pounced like a tiger, slamming a palm into Dong’s chest. Dong stifled a grunt as blood trickled from the corner of his mouth.
Ignoring the blood, Dong patted himself off and lunged forward again. Despite the intensity of his attack, Ye Feng remained calm and collected, skillfully countering every move.
Chu Yun and his companions now fought without restraint, unleashing their full strength. Damn it, their leader was so confident, but now that he was entangled, they’d take these masked men down first. Chu Yun vented all his frustration from the evening on these attackers, soon knocking several of them down.
“Ha! This feels great! Zhenhua, Xiang, you’ve got to keep it up!” Chu Yun shouted.
“Damn, Yun, are you on drugs or something?” Liu Zhenhua and Chen Xiang were stunned by Chu Yun’s ferocity. It had been ages since they’d seen him fight with such abandon. Damn, this is how Chu Yun was meant to be. Back in the battlefield days, he was just as fierce.
“What the hell are you talking about? Get rid of them quickly!” Chu Yun scoffed at Liu Zhenhua. Damn it, I’m perfectly sane. I just want to teach these bastards a lesson. Otherwise, everyone will think Xingfeng Security is some pushover, easy to bully.
“Alright!” Chen Xiang and Liu Zhenhua responded in unison, swinging their fists down on the masked men’s heads. The attackers were growing increasingly shocked. Dong’s situation was dire; Ye Feng kept him firmly restrained.
“Heh, tonight you’ll learn the consequences of messing with Xingfeng Security!” Ye Feng muttered with a smile, lowering his voice. Forming his palms into rings, he struck at Dong’s chest. Earlier, Dong had been confident in dodging Ye Feng’s attacks, but now he felt overwhelmed.
Seizing the moment, Ye Feng delivered a palm strike to Dong’s chest with a “puff!” Dong staggered, coughing up blood. Ye Feng pressed the advantage with another strike, sending Dong crashing to the ground. Surprised, Dong hastily ordered a retreat and released a smoke bomb.
Chu Yun and the others prepared to pursue, but Ye Feng called out, “Don’t chase! Fall back quickly—there might be more tricks!”
Hearing Ye Feng’s warning, everyone retreated and subdued those who had been knocked down while waiting for the police to arrive.
Ten minutes later, the police from Qingjiang Road Public Security Bureau finally showed up. It’s often said the police are slower than thieves, and this was certainly true today.
“What exactly happened here?” the leader asked, having been briefed earlier but wanting clarification to assert his authority.
Chu Yun stepped forward. “Officers, I’m Chu Yun, general manager of Xingfeng Security Company. We were attacked tonight, but the attackers have been subdued. Please take them in for questioning.”
“W-what!” The leader was shocked. He had been told this place would be flattened and he’d only be collecting bodies. Now, the company’s staff was unharmed, and the so-called thieves had been taken down. Yet, as a seasoned veteran, he smirked, “Haha, not bad. You really are security personnel and quite capable.”
“Bring those thugs in and interrogate them thoroughly. We want a satisfactory explanation for Xingfeng Security!” The leader’s face darkened as officers arrested the masked men, loading them onto vehicles. He then turned to Chu Yun with a smile, “Please come with us to the station and explain the situation.”
“I’ll send one of my men. I’ll stay here to guard the company. I don’t want any more surprises,” Chu Yun replied with a slight smile, turning to Chen Xiang. “Xiang, you go.”
Chen Xiang was more educated and understood the law better; Chu Yun didn’t want to get tangled in legal technicalities himself.
“Alright, Yun. Let’s go, officers,” Chen Xiang said with a smile. The leader and his team hurried toward the station, already thinking about the commendations they’d receive for tonight’s arrests.
With everyone gone, Ye Feng emerged, looking at the group with satisfaction. “Good job tonight, brothers. It was tough, but we did well. However, some weaknesses showed. We need to keep training hard and continually improve ourselves.”
