Chapter 10: The Personal Bodyguard

Seeing Ye Feng’s roguish grin, Huang Wei was seething inside, yet she was helpless against this young man. From the very first encounter, a subtle and unexplainable feeling had stirred in her heart. The scent of masculinity that wafted from him left her somewhat dazed. When he'd addressed her as “auntie,” Huang Wei had been filled with fury, but upon seeing his handsome face, her anger seemed to dissipate.

“Boss Wen, there’s nothing left for you to do here. Why don’t you go take care of your own business? I’d like to take a good look around and get familiar with the place.” Huang Wei smiled at Wen Biyun, yet she couldn’t quite explain the sense of crisis she’d felt upon first seeing her. Perhaps it was because this beauty was no less attractive than herself; women, after all, are naturally competitive.

“You, you—Manager Huang, let me remind you, even if you’re the general manager now, I am the founder of this hotel. Don’t let it go to your head.” Wen Biyun hadn’t intended to argue, but Huang Wei’s aggressiveness was infuriating.

“You! Get out!” Huang Wei was on the verge of losing her temper. How could this beautiful woman be so unreasonable? This was her territory now, and she even had her bodyguard at her side—yet Wen Biyun seemed completely unafraid.

“Fine, let’s go then. Ye Feng!” Wen Biyun called, her voice triumphant as she saw Huang Wei’s pretty face contort with anger. On closer inspection, Wen Biyun had to admit that Huang Wei matched her in beauty—an oval face, elegant brows, phoenix eyes, a delicate nose and lips, fair and tender skin, and a trendy outfit that only added to her charm.

“Don’t you dare! Ye Feng is my personal bodyguard now—he does everything with me.” Huang Wei was fuming, nearly insisting he even accompany her to the restroom. In her anger, her impressive chest heaved with every breath. Based on Ye Feng’s experience, he guessed they were at least a D-cup—truly tempting.

“Isn’t that right?” Huang Wei turned to Ye Feng after receiving no response, only to find his eyes fixed unashamedly on her chest. A wave of anger surged within her, but she suppressed it and asked gently, “Do you like what you see?”

“Uh… I—” Ye Feng was caught off guard by the question. If she’d asked him which gun was the most reliable, he could have answered in a heartbeat. But this? “Uh, Manager, I—I didn’t see anything. What were we talking about again?” Playing dumb was the best escape.

“Hmph!” Of course he was staring, yet he dared say otherwise. Was she really that unattractive? Huang Wei thought bitterly. Still, seeing the dazed look in Ye Feng’s eyes told her she clearly had an effect on him.

Wen Biyun, too, was annoyed by Ye Feng’s silence. “Ye Feng, after all that, what are you going to do about it?” She sidled up to him, looping her arm through his and pressing her soft chest against his strong arm.

“Aah, that’s something else!” Ye Feng grinned, teeth bared. Wen Biyun’s assets were no joke; how did she manage to keep them so perky at her age? They were soft but showed no sign of sagging. On this, Ye Feng considered himself an authority.

“Ye Feng, you’re my personal bodyguard now. Naturally, you’re on my side,” Huang Wei declared, waking to the situation at hand. She rushed over, rubbing her own softness against Ye Feng’s other arm.

“Heavens, what have I gotten myself into?” Ye Feng cried inwardly. This was a deadly move—one beauty was hard enough to handle, but two at once? Wasn’t this just asking for trouble?

“Aunt Wen, Manager, isn’t this a little inappropriate?” Ye Feng struggled to speak, feeling himself stir beneath his trousers. The unique fragrances of both women filled his senses, intoxicating him.

“Hmph, I don’t care. That woman bullied your Aunt Wen, so you figure it out,” Wen Biyun pouted, pretending to ignore him, though she continued her subtle attacks.

“I don’t care either. You’re my personal bodyguard, so you have to take my side,” Huang Wei turned away as well, not relaxing her grip in the slightest. Her face was already flushed red, but for the sake of pride, she persisted—wasn’t this just a contest of wills?

Damn, Ye Feng finally understood the wisdom of the old saying: “Women and petty men are the hardest to keep in line.” Especially those beauties who can kill with a wink or with certain parts of their body—if they set their sights on you, you’re doomed. Their charms were no less deadly than explosives; Ye Feng was now completely convinced.

“Alright, alright! I’ll think of a solution right now. But whatever I come up with, you both have to agree, understood?” Ye Feng grinned slyly; a man had to show some backbone, otherwise how could he keep these women in check?

“I’ll listen to you, but you must always be ready to protect me,” Huang Wei said after some thought. Hmph, it’s only because of you. But suddenly realizing that “always by her side” might be asking a bit much, she amended, “Whenever I call you, you must come immediately.”

“No problem.” When she first said “always by my side,” Ye Feng thought his life was over. But her quick correction made things much less daunting. “I promise you!”

“Of course, I’ll do whatever you say,” Wen Biyun cooed, her voice sweet enough to melt bones. If Huang Wei weren’t here, Ye Feng would have thrown himself at her already—she was too alluring.

“Alright then, here’s my idea. Aunt Wen, since you’re familiar with the hotel’s day-to-day operations, I think you should handle routine management. As for Manager Huang, you’ll be responsible for the big-picture decisions and major strategies. If you both work together, I believe Jinxing Hotel’s business will only get better and better.” Ye Feng smiled as he spoke, though he knew this would be no simple matter. As his words faded, both women fell into deep thought.
