Chapter 123: Continuing the Destruction
Chapter 123: Continued Sabotage
Lying in the hospital bed, the team leader felt deeply agitated. Damn it, what a mess this was. Not only had he suffered a crushing defeat the previous night, but his superior had just called to give him a severe dressing-down, accusing him of firing shots recklessly in front of someone else’s club.
"Sir, no, it wasn’t us! I truly don’t know who those people were. By the way, sir, have there been any leads on them? Who could have done this?" the team leader asked anxiously. Damn it, if he found out who was behind this, he would tear them limb from limb.
"Cut the crap! You still dare to lie to me? Let me tell you, the technical department has finished their analysis. The fingerprints on the guns belong to your own men. You tell me, if you didn’t fire those shots, then who the hell did?" The superior erupted into a tirade, clearly insulted that his intelligence was being challenged.
"Sir, sir, it really wasn’t us! Wait, those people were wearing gloves at the time!" The team leader had a sudden flash of inspiration. He had seen it on television—people wearing gloves to avoid leaving fingerprints. He felt quite proud of his own cleverness.
"Oh, so that’s how it was. Lu, why didn't you tell me the truth from the start?" Damn it, did you even give me a chance to speak? The team leader felt like vomiting blood, but since the man was his superior, what else could he do? He could only nod and bow, agreeing profusely.
"Tell you what, I’ll suppress this matter for you. Get out of there as soon as you can and go back to dealing with Chenlong Club. I believe you have the capability to handle it. I hope you won't disappoint me," the superior said with a heavy, meaningful tone. He knew how to win people over; a few small favors would naturally make Lu Ming willing to do his dirty work.
"Yes, yes, sir! I will recover quickly, and once I’m out, I’ll finish off that damn Chenlong Club. Thank you for your trust and support!" Lying in bed, Lu Ming was moved to the verge of tears. His superior was being far too kind. Truly, his parents gave him life, but his superior understood him.
"Good. Focus on your recovery, and once you’re out, do your job well. I will do my best to secure a promotion for you," the superior said with a laugh before hanging up. Hearing this, Lu Ming felt like jumping for joy. He wished his wounds would heal instantly so he could lead his men to crush that damn Chenlong Club.
Ye Feng was completely unaware of what had transpired at the hospital. Business at Chenlong Club had picked up the night before, and word had spread quickly. By early morning, many members were calling to book private rooms. Ma Long was overjoyed; damn, Brother Feng was truly formidable. He had stepped in and solved the problem immediately—simply incredible.
Listening to Ma Long’s relentless flattery, Ye Feng remained silent, merely smiling, before taking his brothers out for some training. He asked Chu Yun, Zhen Hua, and Chen Xiang to demonstrate a few techniques. The latter two were naturally eager, seeing it as a great opportunity to showcase their skills.
Before long, both men had won everyone’s respect with their prowess. Ye Feng then had the three of them demonstrate the coordinated combat techniques he had previously taught Ma Long and the others. Although the three hadn't encountered this specific style before, their long-standing rapport made their performance far superior to that of Ma Long’s group.
Ma Long and Zhang Wei nodded in approval as they watched; it took immense trust and synergy to achieve such results. Watching the three move in seamless harmony, the onlookers couldn't help but sigh in admiration. Ye Feng just smiled at their reactions.
After the demonstration, everyone applauded with genuine respect. Ye Feng smiled and said, "You see? This is the result of long-term training. Even though this is their first time seeing these techniques, their inherent quality and years of shared experience make them easy to learn and highly effective."
The group nodded in agreement. "Now, let’s begin training. I believe that as long as you persist, you will see results. Especially with the problems we are facing, which will likely increase, we must become stronger to protect ourselves."
"Understood, Brother Feng!" the group answered in unison. Ye Feng said calmly, "Begin." The men started training according to their assigned groups, while Ye Feng and the three others watched from the sidelines, focusing on their coordination and positioning.
With the guidance of Ye Feng and his three companions, the group found the training much easier and made significant progress. Ye Feng was secretly pleased; the quality of their training had improved drastically, especially for Ma Long, Zhang Wei, and Xiao Qi.
Seeing Ye Feng nodding in approval, the men grew even more energized. Knowing their efforts were recognized by him spurred them on to work harder. Chu Yun watched their efforts with a satisfied smile; damn, these brothers of Ye Feng were truly decent men, and he liked them quite a bit.
After an hour, they took a break. Ye Feng praised them while pointing out their mistakes; it was better to correct them now than to pay for those errors with their lives on the battlefield.
The men listened intently, frequently asking for clarification on techniques. Ye Feng shared everything he knew, treating them like his own brothers. "Alright, that’s enough for now. Go wash up and get some rest. We’ll keep a tight watch on the club tonight. We must make this business a success and establish our reputation. Once we’re stable, we can send some men over to the security firm to keep that running as well."
"Yes, Brother Feng!" The group dispersed toward the showers. Ye Feng reached for his clothes, intending to rinse off as well, but a sudden ringtone forced him to stop and check his phone.
