Chapter 109: Dage Park
Chapter 109: Dage Park
Liu Zhenhua was kicking the man on the ground with full force, completely unaware that danger was creeping up on him. Just as he turned to confront the others, he saw an object swinging toward his head—a steel pipe. His first instinct was to dodge, but it was already too late.
Seeing the thug raise the weapon to strike Liu Zhenhua, Ye Feng sprang into action. To Chu Yun and Chen Xiang, it felt as though a gust of wind had brushed past them, and suddenly, they saw Ye Feng lunging forward. Just as Liu Zhenhua braced himself for the worst, he saw his attacker slowly collapse to the ground.
"Brother Feng!" Liu Zhenhua, Chu Yun, and Chen Xiang were equally astonished. Ye Feng’s movements were incredibly stylish. They were once again struck by the sheer intensity of his prowess; his speed, like a gust of wind, left them stunned. Brother Feng was truly in a league of his own.
"What are you standing there for? Let’s finish this quickly. We need to leave, or we’ll have trouble if we end up at the police station." Ye Feng knew that getting involved with the local precinct was a gamble; it was a complex place filled with all sorts of unsavory characters.
Liu Zhenhua snapped out of it. By the time he prepared to join the fray, he realized Ye Feng had already taken care of everyone. Without holding back, Ye Feng unleashed his full capability. His palms moved like lightning, his footwork was nimble, and his strikes carried the force of a gale. With every move, another thug would groan and slowly tumble to the ground.
Within two or three minutes, the men were all sprawled on the floor, groaning in pain. Though everyone was initially worried Ye Feng might turn on them, they exhaled a sigh of relief when he stopped. Suddenly, Ye Feng declared, "Let me tell you this: if any of you bully people here again, the consequence will be one word—death!"
His voice was not loud, but every word resonated with weight. The men trembled, and to further shock them, Ye Feng grabbed the steel pipe from the ground and snapped it in two with his bare hands. The pieces clattered onto the floor with a crisp sound, leaving everyone present deeply intimidated.
Liu Zhenhua helped the beaten man up and walked him away to find medical attention. "Th-thank you, young brother, for saving my life. Th-thank you!" Ye Feng waved his hand to dismiss the gratitude. As he held the man’s hand, he sent a surge of warmth into the man’s heart. Feeling the comfort, the man looked at Ye Feng with profound gratitude.
The four of them accompanied the man to the hospital, where Ye Feng had him call his family to come and take care of him. Once the man was settled, they left. "Brother Feng, I’ve noticed your skills have improved quite a bit. Are you planning to teach us a few moves?"
Although they had shared the same instructor, Ye Feng had experienced his own unique path, making his martial arts significantly superior to Liu Zhenhua’s. In every mission, Ye Feng was the most outstanding, naturally becoming their leader, and their instructor had often taught him more advanced combat techniques.
"Haha, that’s possible. I simplified a set of boxing techniques a while ago; I can show you, but this isn't the right place, is it?" Ye Feng gestured around them. If they practiced on the street, they would attract a crowd and likely end up viral online as street performers or circus monkeys.
"You're right. Let's find somewhere quiet," Chu Yun suggested. He was eager to learn, knowing Brother Feng’s skills were no joke. Ever since a specific mission they had gone on, Brother Feng had become incredibly formidable, fueling rumors that he held secret, unknown talents.
"Hmm, let me think. Right, there’s Dage Park nearby. It’s quiet at night. We can go there," Ye Feng suggested. The others readily agreed; it was Brother Feng’s territory, so they followed his lead.
Dage Park was quite close. They only needed to cross the pedestrian street, turn at an intersection, and climb up the hill. The park was small, but its cool night air made it a popular spot for evening strolls and local students seeking privacy. Ye Feng remembered it well.
Under Ye Feng’s guidance, they reached the park in ten minutes. Finding a secluded corner, Ye Feng demonstrated the techniques, explaining the fundamentals, mantras, and tricks before having them practice.
Though they had been slightly tipsy, the cool breeze in the park helped sober them up, and their movements became more agile. However, Ye Feng noticed their form was off and felt something was missing. "That's not it."
Seeing Chu Yun move his feet too early, Ye Feng stepped in to correct him. "Try this: turn your body, then use your hands and feet in unison. That’ll give you better results. Yes, especially the distinction between your palms and fists!"
As he watched them practice, Ye Feng mentally counted their steps. While combat is fluid and formless, the basics were essential. You cannot build a tall tower without a foundation; without mastering the basics, there could be no mastery of variation. That was why Ye Feng had always insisted on rigorous basic combat training for the others.
After nearly an hour, seeing they had grasped the essentials, Ye Feng told them to take a break and enjoy the breeze. They were thrilled; despite the simple movements, the training was exhausting, and sweat beaded on their foreheads.
The four of them sat on a stone bench, chatting about their future. Ye Feng was filled with endless aspirations, though he kept some of his "dreams" to himself.
After resting for a while, they decided it was time to head back. Just then, a cry for help echoed from behind them. Ye Feng froze—the voice sounded chillingly familiar.
