Chapter 108: Fingers Itching
Chapter 108: An Itch in the Hands
Ye Feng and the others turned around and saw two burly men punching and kicking a man lying on the ground. “Damn you! I was eating your peanuts out of kindness, but you’re so ungrateful! You don’t even know how to show respect!”
Only then did Ye Feng notice a crushed box beside the fallen man, with boiled salted peanuts scattered all around.
“Sir, I—I was wrong. I won’t ask for money anymore. Please don’t hit me!” the man on the ground pleaded, but the attackers were unmoved. “Listen up, on this street, I’m the one who calls the shots.”
Ye Feng was puzzled. Wasn’t the underground in You County ruled by the Justice Sect, led by Huang Wei, who was known for strict discipline? Such a scene shouldn’t have happened. Yet, if these weren’t men from the Justice Sect, who else would dare to cause a ruckus so openly?
“You’re blind, aren’t you? Today, I’ll teach you a lesson—teach you how to open those blind eyes of yours!” One man signaled the other to grab the victim and punch him squarely in the face. Blood immediately trickled from the man’s mouth.
Ye Feng couldn’t bear to watch any longer and was about to step forward, but Liu Zhenhua quickly grabbed his hand. “Brother Feng, I haven’t practiced in a while, and my hands are itching. Let me handle this.”
Ye Feng thought it over and nodded. “Be careful. Just give them a lesson, don’t play rough enough to get hurt.”
“I know my limits, Brother Feng. Watch me!” Liu Zhenhua popped two peanuts into his mouth, stepped forward, and challenged loudly, “Hey, you guys bullying one man—aren’t you ashamed?”
“Hey, kid, where the hell do you come from, daring to meddle in my business?” The big man holding the victim released him and glared at Liu Zhenhua.
“Heh, where I come from is none of your business. I’m just here to tell you not to bully people needlessly.” Liu Zhenhua’s anger flared. He hated nothing more than bullies ganging up on the weak. Several of them surrounding one already beaten man—how could anyone stand that?
“Damn it!” The big man swung his fist fiercely. He fought daily and surely wouldn’t be beaten by this scrawny kid. He was determined to teach him a brutal lesson.
The onlookers watched anxiously but dared not intervene. Offending these thugs would make it impossible to survive on this street. As the saying goes, the barefoot don’t fear those wearing shoes. These thugs could come back anytime to sabotage your business. What could be done?
Suddenly, a young man appeared out of nowhere. Though he looked unimpressive, his aura was strong. Everyone worried about the battered man, but soon their concerns shifted as Liu Zhenhua met the big man’s punch head-on.
The thug’s heavy blow missed, and he swiftly turned to kick Liu Zhenhua’s waist. Seeing his foot about to land, the thug smirked, unaware that Liu Zhenhua had planned this.
With a strong grip and a sharp pull, Liu Zhenhua twisted the thug’s leg with a crack. The man collapsed, screaming like a butchered pig, “Ah! Damn you! You broke my leg! I’ll kill you! Brothers, get him!”
At his shout, the gang rushed forward. The crowd was stunned—this young man was surely in grave danger. One man helped the fallen thug up and shouted, “Damn it! Get him! Kill that bastard!”
The thugs swung wildly, but Liu Zhenhua didn’t hold back. Though outnumbered, his skills had improved, and he knew better than to underestimate knives or blades. Still, he wasn’t as formidable as Brother Feng.
Ye Feng observed Liu Zhenhua’s moves, noting his clear progress. “Looks like Zhenhua has improved a lot,” he remarked to Chen Xiang, who had arrived last and knew the situation better.
“No way,” Chen Xiang laughed, “Actually, Zhenhua hasn’t trained much recently.” He smirked, silently mocking himself for underestimating Zhenhua earlier, though admitting his skills had indeed improved.
“Seriously?” Chu Yun was puzzled. They all knew each other’s strengths well; everyone had a clear sense of who was strong and who wasn’t.
“Yeah, really!” Chen Xiang said sheepishly. “Come on, let’s have a drink. I trust Zhenhua’s ability; this little scuffle is no problem.”
Raising his bottle, he clinked it with Ye Feng’s. Ye Feng agreed—Zhenhua’s skills had clearly advanced, and handling a few thugs like these was nothing. Otherwise, how could he proudly claim to be from a special forces background?
At first, the gang thought that with numbers on their side, they could easily overwhelm the young man. But they quickly realized their mistake. Despite their desperate efforts, the gap in skill was too great.
Liu Zhenhua, aware that Brother Feng was watching, unconsciously increased his strength. His fists now seemed to carry the force of the wind, each blow landing solidly.
The opponents grew increasingly alarmed. They had expected to crush the lone fighter with sheer numbers, but Liu Zhenhua was no fool. He fought defensively, waiting for an opening to deliver a decisive blow.
“Ha! You talk big, huh? Come on, then!” Liu Zhenhua smiled slightly, then with a swift move, flipped one man onto the ground and kicked him hard in the abdomen. The man clutched his stomach, crying out, “Ah, sir, I—I was wrong! Please don’t kick me!”
Ye Feng wanted to check how Liu Zhenhua was doing. Nearby, a man smiled faintly and slowly approached Liu Zhenhua, wielding a steel pipe. Liu Zhenhua, focused on the fallen man, failed to notice the danger creeping up from behind.
