Chapter 106: The Four Brothers

Barely ten minutes later, the car pulled up in front of the Golden Star Hotel. As Chu Yun and the others stepped out and took in the sight, they couldn't help but exclaim in wonder. Was this Golden Star Hotel perhaps a bit too luxurious? They had never experienced such opulence before; in their past missions, simply having a place to sleep was considered a stroke of good fortune.

"Hehe, please come in, everyone. We have already made the arrangements. Why don't you all head to your rooms to freshen up first, and then we'll start dinner!" Wen Biyun immediately took on the air of a lady of the house, especially at a moment like this.

"Thank you, sister-in-law." The men grew even fonder of this beautiful and generous woman. They wondered what kind of incredible luck Brother Feng had to find such a wonderful partner, though considering Brother Feng’s extraordinary skills, it felt perfectly reasonable.

As Ye Feng and the group walked into the hotel, Wen Xiaomei hurried over with a beaming smile. "Brother Feng, are these your brothers?" They looked a bit different from what she expected. She had seen handsome, dashing soldiers on television—the kind Ye Feng was—but seeing Chu Yun and the others, she felt there was a noticeable difference.

"Yes, this is Chu Yun, this is Liu Zhenhua, this is Chen Xiang, and this is Wen Xiaomei." Ye Feng introduced them. When they saw the lovely Wen Xiaomei approaching, they felt a rush of excitement and quickly straightened their clothes. However, when they heard her address Ye Feng as "Brother Feng" and saw the affectionate look in her eyes, they all realized she was his girl.

After the introductions, the group was led by staff to their respective rooms. They showered and changed into clean, neat clothes before heading down to the restaurant, where Wen Biyun had reserved a private dining room for them.

Wen Biyun had wondered how long they would take, but within ten minutes, the refreshed group appeared before her. Soldiers were soldiers, after all—efficient and quick. "Everyone, please sit down. You must all be hungry by now!"

"Indeed, everyone, take a seat. Your sister-in-law arranged this specifically for you. I know the tastes of my brothers well, and these dishes are all your favorites. Please, sit down." Everyone took their seats, and as the wine bottles were opened, a captivating aroma filled the small room.

The drinking began in earnest. Wen Biyun didn't usually drink much, but seeing everyone so happy, she had a few glasses herself. As for Ye Feng, he was bombarded with toasts, but this amount of alcohol was truly nothing to him.

"Haha, Brother Feng, you weren't very fair back then! Damn it, while Chen Xiang and I were out on missions, you snuck off with Chu Yun first—that wasn't very brotherly!" After a few glasses, Liu Zhenhua began to complain.

"Hehe, Zhenhua, I had no choice at the time. If I hadn't left then, I would have been stuck there for several more years. Besides, I saw how much potential you guys had, and I couldn't bear to drag you out with me. I had no idea what the world outside was like," Ye Feng said apologetically.

"Zhenhua, you've got it wrong. I didn't sneak off with Ye Feng. I had intended to stay in the military, but when I saw Brother Feng leaving, damn it, what was the point of staying? I signed the non-disclosure agreement and left right after him," Chu Yun added, his tongue loosened by the alcohol.

Liu Zhenhua finally understood. Ye Feng had actually hoped for them to make something of themselves within the service, but because they had always followed him, they didn't want to be apart. "Brother Feng, I still think that wasn't right of you. You were the one who kept us alive; the four of us have never been separated. We share in the good times and the bad. I'll say it again: no matter what happens to you in the future, even if you’re begging on the streets, I, Liu Zhenhua, am sticking with you. I will never leave you again."

Chen Xiang, emboldened by the sentiment, downed his glass with a flourish. "Zhenhua has spoken, and I, Chen Xiang, will do the same. My life was saved by Brother Feng. I repeat: my life belongs to Brother Feng, and I will follow him forever."

Wen Biyun had thought they were just ordinary comrades, but hearing them, she realized how deep their bond truly was and how vital her man was to them. It seemed her man was indeed no ordinary person. Being with such a man, she felt her life was well spent.

Hearing his brothers speak this way, Ye Feng felt a pang of guilt. What he did back then was indeed a bit underhanded. Brotherhood was a lifelong commitment. "My brothers, I apologize. I only wanted you to make a name for yourselves in the military, but I see now that I was wrong!"

"Brother Feng, we can't blame you; you did it for our own good. But it was still not the right thing to do. How about this: you punish yourself with three glasses of wine. We’ve said our piece—we’re sticking with you forever!" Chen Xiang suggested.

"Alright, no problem!" Ye Feng declared boldly, downing the three glasses in one breath. Everyone burst into applause. "Brother Feng, well done! We’re with you, no question!"

"Everyone, eat your food. Don't just drink," Wen Biyun urged, happy to see that the tension between Ye Feng and his brothers had been resolved.

"Thank you, sister-in-law!" Chu Yun grinned from ear to ear. She was wonderful and a perfect match for Brother Feng—a dragon among men paired with a gentle, virtuous woman. It was perfection.

"Don't be so formal. Eat up, and when you're finished, Ye Feng can take you all out to look around," Wen Biyun said with a sweet smile. She placed a piece of meat in Ye Feng's bowl and whispered tenderly, "Don't drink too much."

"It's fine, really!" Ye Feng replied with a soft smile. It would be a joke if this little bit of alcohol could take him down; they had no idea what his tolerance was back in the day—it was legendary among them.

They continued to eat and drink, feeling incredibly content. It had been a long time since they had enjoyed such a carefree day, and the joy of being together made the meal last for over an hour.
