Chapter Ninety-Three: The Weighted Knee
"A heavy knee strike with a force of over two tons?"
Yang Jiekai was stunned the moment he heard this. If it were merely a matter of killing someone with a knee, he could do it too, but a force exceeding two tons was terrifying.
According to data published by an official American authority, the most powerful Muay Thai fighter in the world today could deliver a knee strike with a force of at most one ton. That was the absolute limit. If it exceeded two tons, the lethality would be self-evident.
A heavy knee strike of over two tons?
Yang Jiekai pondered for a moment, and a name suddenly surfaced in his mind. Could it really be him?
"Can you take me to see the victims?" Yang Jiekai rubbed his nose and asked in a deep voice.
"But that violates protocol," Wang Ying said, her delicate brows furrowed. After a moment of hesitation, she gritted her teeth and said, "Fine, I will make an exception this once!"
Wang Ying had no choice. This case had already alarmed her superiors, who had issued a strict order to solve it within a deadline. The killer remained at large and was highly likely to strike again, so for the sake of the investigation, Wang Ying couldn't afford to be too concerned about procedure.
Upon seeing the bodies, Yang Jiekai became certain that his suspicion was correct.
The victims had all been killed by direct knee strikes; the points of impact were reduced to a pulp, and every bone was shattered.
One victim, a practitioner of the Shaolin "Golden Bell Shield," clearly had a certain level of mastery, yet his chest had also been crushed by a knee. His arms had suffered compound fractures as well, indicating that the attacker had struck while the victim was putting his full effort into blocking, pulverizing both the arms used to parry and the sternum behind them.
"Does the police force have any leads on this?" Yang Jiekai asked gravely.
Wang Ying frowned. "Not yet, but we are investigating with everything we have."
"Alright, keep at it. Let me know the moment you find anything. I’m going back to take care of some business."
After saying this, Yang Jiekai added, "Remember, if you track down the target, shoot to kill. Do not even consider trying to take him alive!"
After leaving the police station, Yang Jiekai returned home, opened his computer, and began typing away, pulling up the file of a specific individual on a hitman database.
The photo in the file showed a handsome young man with dark skin, grinning broadly. Looking at his appearance alone, no one would ever imagine that this man’s knees were capable of smashing a wild ox to death!
Ranked sixth on the Weaponry List: Blue Sang's Knees!
Looking across the entire world, he was the only one capable of delivering a knee strike with a force of over two tons!
But if it really was Blue Sang, why would he come to China?
Yang Jiekai then mentally reviewed the files of the victims Wang Ying had provided. These people were all wealthy or prominent socialites, which meant Blue Sang’s killings were not random; they were purposeful and targeted.
Several days passed without any progress. If it were anyone else, Yang Jiekai would certainly not have bothered with this troublesome business. Anyone ranked on the Weaponry List was no ordinary person, and even Yang Jiekai didn't have total confidence in emerging victorious against them.
However, since Wang Ying had asked him for help—and though they had moved past their emotional baggage—Yang Jiekai still harbored a deep sense of guilt toward her. Since she had come to him, he naturally had to go all out.
Yang Jiekai did not tell Wang Ying about Blue Sang, partly to protect her and partly to protect himself; if Blue Sang’s identity were revealed, his own background would easily be exposed as well.
Yang Jiekai resorted to the simplest method: he printed out Blue Sang’s photo, had Qin Feng and his men memorize it, and sent them out to patrol from dawn until dusk, with instructions to notify him the moment they saw this man.
However, in a city as massive as Anhai, this was akin to looking for a needle in a haystack.
They didn't find the man, but Qin Feng did bring back some news.
Two of Blind Wu's men had been beaten to death, reportedly with shattered sternums as well.
After hearing this, Yang Jiekai pondered for a while, told Qin Feng and the others to stop searching, and went to find Blind Wu alone.
"Boss Wu, I heard two of your men were killed."
Upon finding Blind Wu, Yang Jiekai got straight to the point.
Blind Wu, already furious over the loss of his men, snapped, "What is it? Are you here to laugh at me? Do you believe I can make you leave here horizontally?"
Yang Jiekai shook his head, showing no anger, and said, "I don't have the time to laugh at you. I’m here today to propose a partnership."
"A partnership?" Blind Wu didn't quite understand.
Yang Jiekai nodded. "That’s right, a partnership. You’ve seen my capabilities. I'm here to cooperate with you."
Blind Wu’s one good eye rolled. "What kind of partnership?"
"You help us find the man, I'll take care of him, and we can split the bounty fifty-fifty."
Yang Jiekai intended to utilize Blind Wu's local network. When it came to tracking people, individuals in the underworld like Blind Wu were often much more effective than the police.
Yang Jiekai continued, "But since this is a partnership, we need to be sincere. If you're interested, Boss Wu, tell me the ins and outs of what happened."
Blind Wu was a ruthless man, but he wasn't stupid. After his eye darted around for a long moment, he said, "Fine, we’ll do it your way. Here is what happened..."
It turned out the matter stemmed from one of Blind Wu's business deals. Among those killed by Blue Sang, one had established a "revenge fund" before his death. The fund would be activated upon his demise, and whoever killed the culprit would receive the payout.
Blind Wu naturally didn't want to miss out, so he quickly used his underworld connections and soon discovered it was a Thai man. He sent two experts to assassinate him, only for the man to easily kill his two most capable subordinates.
Only then did Blind Wu realize this was no easy task and had planned to give up. He hadn't expected Yang Jiekai to approach him for a partnership, so he readily agreed. After all, regardless of the outcome, he wouldn't lose anything.
Blind Wu was highly efficient. He immediately dispersed his men and utilized all his underworld connections. Just two days later, he found a lead on Blue Sang.
"Found him. Room 302 at the Jinmao Hotel." Blind Wu called Yang Jiekai, then turned off his phone, distancing himself from the matter.
When Yang Jiekai received the news, it was past ten in the evening. He immediately drove to the Jinmao Hotel.
At the entrance, Yang Jiekai suddenly saw Wang Ying walking inside in plainclothes.
"What are you doing here?" Yang Jiekai caught up to her in a few strides and looked around, seeing no plainclothes officers; it didn't look like a raid.
Wang Ying was startled to see Yang Jiekai. She furrowed her brows and said, "Get in the car and we'll talk."
Once in the car, Wang Ying explained the situation.
Because the victims were all socialites, the case had alarmed the higher-ups, who had sent an investigative team to take over. They had instructed the local police to just provide support, leaving Wang Ying on the sidelines.
However, Wang Ying was stubborn. She had continued to investigate privately and found a Thai man who seemed suspicious, tracking him here and preparing to go up and question him.
Yang Jiekai broke into a cold sweat upon hearing this. If he had arrived half a minute later and this girl had actually gone up there, the consequences would have been unimaginable.
"Why are you being so reckless? If you have a lead, even if you don't tell me, you should at least inform your colleagues! Do you have any idea how dangerous this is?" Yang Jiekai snapped at her.
Wang Ying scoffed, "I’m carrying a gun. Besides, I’ve been investigating this case on the sly, and I wasn't even sure if that Thai man was the real killer. Wait—is he really the killer?"
Upon receiving confirmation, Wang Ying prepared to get out of the car.
"What are you doing?" Yang Jiekai asked.
"Going to arrest him!"
Yang Jiekai felt a wave of dizziness. "Officer Wang, are you sure you can handle him alone?"
Wang Ying raised an eyebrow. "I have a gun. Why would I be afraid of him?"
Yang Jiekai was speechless.
It wasn't that the Chinese police were incompetent, but the world was far more complex than she imagined. Every country had secret departments specifically designed to handle such threats, beyond standard law enforcement.
The opponent was Blue Sang, ranked sixth on the Weaponry List. With Wang Ying’s amateur skills, let alone a pistol, even if she walked in with a rocket launcher, she would be torn to pieces.
"Hey, let me ask you something." Yang Jiekai’s eyes shifted, and he suddenly began calculating in his head.
"Spit it out!" Wang Ying kept her eyes fixed on the hotel entrance, terrified the target might escape.
"If I capture or kill this guy, is there a reward?" Yang Jiekai licked his lips and asked.
"You..."
Now it was Wang Ying’s turn to be speechless. Even at a time like this, he was thinking about a bounty. This occupational hazard clearly went bone-deep.
Just then, Wang Ying saw a few people walk into the hotel and her eyes widened. "How did they find this place too?"
"Who?" Yang Jiekai asked.
"The investigative team sent from above!" Wang Ying said. "I didn't expect them to actually have some skill. Well, that's it, there's nothing for me to do now. Let's go, I'll treat you to dinner."
Yang Jiekai, however, had a dark expression. "Forget dinner, let's get out of here!"
"Where to?"
"If you don't want to watch those people get killed, follow me and save them!"
As Yang Jiekai said this, he pulled the car door open and ran toward the hotel entrance. Although he had never faced Blue Sang before, and the two had never even met, Yang Jiekai knew exactly how powerful Blue Sang’s knees were—otherwise, he wouldn't hold the sixth rank on the Weaponry List.
Moreover, the eighth-ranked fighter on the Weaponry List, Fujita Tsuyoshi, had been killed by Yang Jiekai himself.
Fujita Tsuyoshi’s body was as hard as granite, and every part of him could be used as a lethal weapon. Heaven knows how much effort it took for Yang Jiekai to finish him off; he only remembered that after that duel, he had broken two ribs and was nearly exhausted to the point of collapse.
And Blue Sang’s rank was two spots higher than Fujita’s. That alone spoke to the lethality of Blue Sang's knees!
