Chapter 135: The Complaint

"Weiwei, why did you stop talking?" Han Ning felt somewhat puzzled.

"It's nothing. I have some things to take care of, let's chat later, hanging up now." After saying that, Han Wei hung up the phone.

"This girl, she really is strange!"

Muttering to herself, Han Ning happily drifted off to sleep.

For some unknown reason, Han Ning tossed and turned in bed that night, unable to fall asleep. Her mind was filled with images of Yang Jiekai working diligently and showing such drive.

The next day, Han Ning deliberately woke up early, carefully applied her makeup, and changed into a beige professional suit, ready to go to work with Yang Jiekai.

"Respected Her Royal Highness the Princess, please get in the car!"

Yang Jiekai had also cleaned up nicely and stood beside the car, making a gesturing motion for Han Ning to enter.

Han Ning was immediately amused and said to him, "Oh, cut it out, hurry up, we're going to be late."

With that, she prepared to sit in the passenger seat.

Throughout the journey, Yang Jiekai focused intently on driving and didn't speak to Han Ning. Yet, somehow, looking at him from the side, Han Ning felt for the first time that this guy actually had a rather handsome profile.

However, only a short while later, all of Han Ning's illusions were completely shattered by Yang Jiekai.

"Wife, let's discuss something," Yang Jiekai said while driving.

"Go ahead." Han Ning was in an exceptionally good mood. Lacking the ability to foresee the future—had she possessed it—she most likely would have kicked this guy straight out of the car.

"How about you drive?"

"What?" Han Ning doubted her own ears.

Yawning, Yang Jiekai said, "I didn't sleep at all last night, so I'm a bit sleepy now and afraid I might doze off later."

"What were you doing last night that kept you up the whole night?" Han Ning asked with puzzlement.

Stretching his neck and yawning, Yang Jiekai replied, "Well, it was like this. Last night I was playing video games online with some people, but I kept losing. The more I thought about it, the angrier I got, so I tried to figure out how to win back. You know, an outstanding young man like me doesn't admit defeat, so I kept pondering. Pondering all night long, I pulled an all-nighter, and finally, right around dawn, I completely crushed those guys."

After finishing, Yang Jiekai turned his head and flashed a cheeky grin at Han Ning, saying, "Wife, don't you think I'm exceptionally inspiring?"

"..." Han Ning was left speechless, with black lines running down her forehead.

What happened next made Han Ning so furious that steam practically came out of her ears; she was this close to giving the guy a vicious scolding right in front of everyone.

What had he said just yesterday?

All that talk about working diligently, earning money through the sweat of his own brow—only on the very first day of work did Han Ning find out just how "diligent" this guy really was.

After pulling an all-nighter playing games, he ended up making her his driver while he snored away soundly in the passenger seat.

As soon as they entered the company, she told him to report to the human resources department, but instead, this fellow simply laid down on a couch in the front lobby and stayed there all morning.

At noon, the logistics department asked Yang Jiekai to drive and deliver a document. Naturally, drivers fell under the jurisdiction of the logistics department, but this guy merely gave a grand wave of his hand and said, "Not going!"

When the head of logistics asked why, the fellow brazenly declared, "I am your president's driver, not an errand boy. Buzz off and don't disturb my nap."

Before the workday was even over, Han Ning had received complaints about Yang Jiekai from nearly every department head in the company.

The Head of Human Resources: "President, where did you recruit this person from? He sleeps during working hours, and when I went to talk to him, he even cursed at me."

The Head of Public Relations: "President, I heard that the new employee named Yang Jiekai was directly recruited by you. Please do something about him; he just barged into our public relations department and started flirting with our female employees. When I went to reprimand him, he actually asked me if I was free tonight and wanted to go out for a late-night snack with him."

Cursing loudly, Yang Jiekai walked up, flipped through the stack of complaints, and shouted, "For crying out loud, do these people have nothing better to do? I didn't do a single thing in the company today! I was hardworking, honest, and utterly dedicated—they are framing me!"

"You refuse to admit it? Fine, I'll call them all up right now, and you can confront them face-to-face to see if they've wronged you!"

Driven nearly insane with rage, Han Ning immediately instructed her assistant to summon the heads of the various departments.

"Let me ask you all, are the facts stated in these complaints true or false?"

Don't let Han Ning's usual gentle and delicate appearance deceive you; the moment she stepped into the corporate world, she transformed completely into a formidable business queen. Seeing her fury, the department heads stood trembling and submissive, while only Yang Jiekai sat boldly to one side, casually eating a banana.

"True, I have verified every single situation."

The Head of Human Resources spoke up first. Hearing this, Yang Jiekai immediately grew displeased. "Hey, Crooked-Neck Tree Flat-Chest, you better think carefully before you speak. Don't think that just because you're a woman, I won't hit you."

Based on her appearance, Yang Jiekai had directly bestowed upon her the nickname "Crooked-Neck Tree Flat-Chest," likely the longest nickname in existence.

"Everything you did in the company today has been thoroughly verified by me. If there is half a sentence of falsehood, I will resign immediately!"

Although the Crooked-Neck Tree Flat-Chest wasn't blessed with stunning looks, her working capability was exceptionally strong—otherwise, she could never have attained the position of HR head. And the primary prerequisite for that position was to be unyielding and utterly fearless of making enemies.

Following that, the Crooked-Neck Tree Flat-Chest questioned the other department heads in turn, and the answers received were all affirmative.

Seeing someone else take the lead, the remaining department heads quickly began pouring out their grievances to Han Ning with tears and snot.

"Damn it, you there—the one in the security uniform!"

Extremely dissatisfied after listening, Yang Jiekai pointed at the head of security and said, "Just tell me why I hit you. If you hadn't spoken insolently, how could an outstanding young man like me ever resort to hitting someone?"

Backed by Han Ning's presence, the head of security straightened his posture and shouted loudly at Yang Jiekai, "Smoking is prohibited in the company lobby. Engaged in stubborn sophistry, Yang Jiekai pointed righteously at the head of security and declared, "As a member of the company, one must bear the company's regulations in mind at all times. What does it matter if you step outside? Does leaving the premises suddenly mean you are no longer a part of the company?"

Before the head of security could speak, Yang Jiekai continued, "As a qualified employee of the company, one must always keep the regulations in mind. Whether inside or outside the company, smoking is wrong—it is a shameful act!"

Having said that, Yang Jiekai turned to the head of public relations and said, "And you, what on earth made you dress yourself up so pretty for no reason? Being pretty is one thing, but you even make all your female employees look that gorgeous. With you acting like this, how are the other male employees supposed to focus on their work?"

Seeing that the others had cleared the office, Yang Jiekai smiled cheerfully at Han Ning and said, "Wife, my performance just now was pretty good, right? They really did make major mistakes in their work..."

"Yang Jiekai!"

Han Ning roared at the top of her lungs. "What did you say to me yesterday? I want you to vanish right now and never appear before me again!"

Tears welled up in Han Ning's eyes. Seeing her like this, Yang Jiekai realized he might have gone a bit too far.
