Yang Jiekai was indeed a formidable fighter. His long career on the battlefields, shrouded in smoke and fire, combined with grueling, hellish training, had gifted him with combat skills far exceeding those of an ordinary man. After that incident, his strength and speed had increased to an almost inconceivable degree.

However, even so, he was no superman. The idea of one person taking on hundreds was something found only in martial arts novels. No matter how skilled Yang Jiekai was, facing hundreds of men armed with lethal weapons would inevitably result in him being beaten into a pulp.

Thus, he chose a strategy of fighting while retreating.

His physical stamina was extraordinary; he could likely have won a gold medal had he entered the Olympics, which meant the pursuers behind him could never catch up. Although the stamina of Wang Sankui and his men was not as monstrous as Yang Jiekai’s, they had spent years in the underworld and were well-versed in the art of running away, so no one lagged behind for the time being.

After running for a while, the pursuers began to struggle, leaving only a few with the best stamina still in pursuit.

Yang Jiekai glanced back, suddenly spun around, and with a flying kick, sent the first pursuer sprawling. He then dealt with a few more in quick succession. Just as the remaining pursuers were about to close in, he turned and dashed away again.

Yang Jiekai continued this "fight-and-retreat" tactic, and before long, more and more of the pursuers lay incapacitated on the ground.

Wang Sankui and his two companions were completely won over. They had been in countless brawls, but this was the first time they had ever seen military strategy applied to a gang fight. These four men alone had taken down at least a hundred opponents using this tactic.

They continued to run until they were well clear of the western suburbs, at which point the pursuers finally gave up.

Wang Sankui and his two men were gasping for breath. "Brother Yang, I’m convinced. I, Wang Sankui, have been brawling since I was a kid, but I’ve never seen anything like today. Damn, that was satisfying!"

"But we still didn't take out Monkey Sun!"

Red Boy, the sharpest mind among them, pointed out the core issue. They hadn't come here just to stir up trouble; their goal was to eliminate Monkey Sun. They had won a resounding victory in this battle, yet they hadn't even caught a glimpse of Monkey Sun from start to finish.

Yang Jiekai nonchalantly lit a cigarette, squinted, and smiled. "Let's smoke first. I think some good news will be dropping from the sky very soon."

"What good news?" Wang Sankui asked, looking puzzled.

Yang Jiekai smiled, checked the time, and said, "In five minutes at most, news will fall from the sky."

The sharp-witted Red Boy caught on, and his eyes widened in surprise. "Old Gun is missing?"

Seeing Yang Jiekai’s cryptic smile, Red Boy gasped. "So, it was a ruse to lure the tiger away from the mountain! But..."

"But what?" Yang Jiekai asked with a grin.

Red Boy frowned. "Even though we drew away most of the thugs from the western suburbs, Monkey Sun must have left some people behind to guard him. With only Old Gun there, I'm afraid that might be..."

Yang Jiekai just smiled without explaining further. He knew Old Gun’s capabilities better than anyone. If it came to a direct confrontation, even Yang Jiekai himself didn't know how deep Old Gun’s strength really ran.

Yuan Datou shuddered at the thought. He had personally experienced Old Gun’s methods, and even now, the memory made his blood run cold.

Three minutes later, Yang Jiekai’s phone vibrated. A message arrived. It was simple, containing only two words: Done deal.

Yang Jiekai smiled and said to Wang Sankui and the others, "Let's go. We’re heading downtown to find the best place and have ourselves a victory feast!"

The next day, news spread through the underworld: Monkey Sun was dead.

He had died under mysterious circumstances in his own home, his throat slit—a single, fatal strike.

The people in the city center had little interest in the affairs of suburban thugs, but Wang Sankui and his group knew exactly what had happened. Even though Yang Jiekai hadn't said it outright, they could have guessed who was responsible even with their eyes closed.

With Monkey Sun dead, the thugs in the western suburbs were left leaderless. Yang Jiekai didn't even need to worry about the aftermath; Long Xiaoman took Wang Sankui and the others to seize the territory every day, and within a few days, they had completely brought the hundreds of thugs in the western suburbs under their control.

With that, the four suburbs—east, west, south, and north—of Anhai City were all brought under the banner of the Dragon Hall.

After the dust settled, Yang Jiekai returned to his carefree life. One day, while he was idly playing a matching game on his computer, Han Wei suddenly burst into his room. "Brother-in-law, I need to discuss something with you."

"What is it?"

Yang Jiekai, cigarette dangling from his lips, immediately became alert. Whenever this sister-in-law of his sought him out, it was never for anything good.

Han Wei sat down on his bed with a bold posture, grabbed a drink from the side, took a sip, and said, "My sister is going on a trip in a couple of days. You’re going to go with her."

"Not happening!"

Yang Jiekai shook his head like a rattle. He had been run ragged these past few days and had finally managed to get some downtime; he didn't want to go running around again. He just wanted to stay home and enjoy some peace and quiet.

"Brother-in-law—"

Han Wei drew out the syllables, her voice sweet as honey. "Please, I’m begging you, okay? My sister hasn't been in a good mood lately and she’s been way too overworked. I spent forever convincing her to go out and clear her head. I’m worried about her traveling alone, and with you there, at least she’ll have someone to look after her."

"Then why don't you go with her?" Yang Jiekai asked with a curl of his lip.

"I wish I could!"

Han Wei let out a long sigh. "But if I go, who’s going to manage the company? My sister works day and night for the company; she really needs to relax, or I’m afraid she’s going to get sick. Please, Brother-in-law, I’m begging you."

Thinking of his CEO wife, Yang Jiekai felt a pang of sympathy. To outsiders, she possessed everything a woman could dream of: youth, beauty, family background, and wealth.

To others, she seemed like a woman immersed in happiness, but only those close to her knew how she actually lived. Everything had two sides. While God opened a window for her, He also blocked another door. Han Ning had what other girls lacked, but what other girls had was also what Han Ning dreamed of.

"Alright, since you’re begging me, I’ll go with your sister for a couple of days."

Yang Jiekai stood up and grinned at Han Wei. "But how are you going to thank me?"

Han Wei rolled her eyes. "I’d like to offer myself to you, but I don't know if you have the guts."

Watching Han Wei sitting on his bed with her long, slender legs crossed, Yang Jiekai couldn't help but swallow hard. A wicked thought crossed his mind, and he began to inch toward her with a mischievous smirk.

Han Wei puffed out her chest defiantly. "Don't try to bluff me, I don't believe you have the— ah! What do you think you're doing!"

Before she could finish, Yang Jiekai suddenly pushed her down onto the bed, flipped her over, pinned her hands behind her back with one hand, and gave her thigh a solid, resounding smack with the other.

"I wouldn't dare take you up on that offer, but I certainly have the guts to take a little advantage."

Yang Jiekai chuckled, rubbing his hands together. "Quite firm, I must say."

Han Wei’s face turned crimson with shame. She never expected this guy to actually dare to take liberties with her. "Hmph, you pervert! I’m going to go tell my sister!"

"Go ahead, go ahead!"

Yang Jiekai laughed. "Besides, your sister and I are just in a contractual marriage. We agreed to respect each other's private lives. And just now, it was mutual, so I’m not afraid."

"You..."

In her distress, Han Wei didn't know what to say. After calling him a filthy pervert, she stomped her foot and scurried out of the room.

Back in her own room, Han Wei slammed the door shut, her heart pounding as if she had done something shameful. Although she knew the guy had been teasing her, she couldn't explain why she felt a strange aftertaste, and even felt a reaction in certain parts of her body...

*What am I thinking!*

Han Wei shook her head violently, her face burning. She couldn't believe her thoughts had drifted in that direction.

Just then, Han Ning walked in and noticed Han Wei’s flushed face. "Weiwei, what's wrong? Why is your face so red?"

"Oh, it's nothing, just a minor cold. I’ll take some medicine and be fine."

After brushing it off, Han Wei quickly changed the subject. "By the way, Sis, I just talked to Brother-in-law. I’ve convinced him to go with you on your trip."

Han Ning frowned. "But I just wanted some peace and quiet on my own this time. I don't really need anyone else..."

"Sis!"

Han Wei couldn't let that slide. "I’m not at ease with you going alone. I’ll feel much better if he’s there. You know what he’s capable of—if something happens, he’ll be able to handle it. And although he’s a bit messy and unkempt, he’s actually a good man with a lot of virtues. For example..."

As she spoke, she realized the atmosphere felt a bit strange and quickly covered her mouth. "I didn't mean it like that, I just meant he... he..."

She struggled for a long time but couldn't finish the sentence.

Seeing Han Wei like this, Han Ning suddenly burst into laughter. "If you think he’s so great, why don't I just let you have him? It’s only a contract marriage anyway."

"That’s not it at all!"

Han Wei’s face turned bright red. "I just think he has a few good qualities, I don't like him!"

"You stubborn girl, still lying to me? You're my sister—do you really think I don't know what you're thinking?"

Han Ning was sharp and intelligent; she had realized long ago that her sister looked at Yang Jiekai differently, even if Han Wei hadn't noticed it herself.

"Sis, I really didn't mean it! I don't want to steal my brother-in-law from you!" Han Wei was on the verge of tears.

Seeing her sister’s reaction, Han Ning let it go and smiled. "Alright, alright, I’m just teasing you. Did you book the tickets? I really need this trip; it’s been so long since I’ve had a chance to get away."

At that moment, a voice came from the doorway, "Hey, Little Sister-in-law, don't you dare tell your sister about the 'thigh-smacking' incident from earlier!"
