"Electabuzz, has your paralysis worn off?" Tong Si noticed that the electric energy flickering around Electabuzz abruptly vanished.

Electabuzz raised its arm.

Though Tong Si didn't understand what had happened, the battle was not yet over.

"Electabuzz, use Quick Attack again!"

Seizing the moment as Chu Xuanxuan was still distracted, Tong Si issued his command immediately.

"What? Oh no! Mareep, use Tackle!"

By the time Chu Xuanxuan reacted, Electabuzz's attack had already struck Mareep.

"Bee bee!"

Compared to the first Quick Attack, this one was noticeably more powerful.

"Baa-aaah!"

Hit by the move, Mareep collapsed to the ground.

"Mareep is unable to battle. Electabuzz is the winner!"

Grandpa Chu promptly announced the result.

"Mareep…"

Chu Xuanxuan ran over to cradle her fainted Mareep. She was a little worried about its condition—the recent Quick Attack had not only been fast but also extremely forceful.

"Well done, Electabuzz!"

"Bee bee!"

Tong Si happily gave Electabuzz a high five.

"Eevee!"

Eevee trotted over, demanding one as well.

Tong Si obliged, giving Eevee a high five. Standing on its hind legs, Eevee lifted its chin with pride and patted its little chest with a paw, as if claiming credit for Electabuzz's victory as the cheerleader.

Both Tong Si and Electabuzz nodded in agreement, humoring the little fellow.

Tong Si was a bit stunned by the system's voice. He understood the first announcement—participating in a Pokémon battle was a mission issued by the system. But victory itself also yielded points? That was a pleasant surprise. If so, winning more battles in the future would mean raking in points.

The system did not answer the questions in his mind, but instead issued a new task.

Tong Si opened the data panel. At present, he had completed two missions, totaling 20,000 points.

He then checked Electabuzz's details. After this battle, Electabuzz had leveled up to eight and learned a new move: Charge.

Still, Tong Si was puzzled by how Electabuzz had freed itself from paralysis. Despite being an Electric-type, Static only had a thirty percent chance to paralyze an attacker. And regardless of typing, he had clearly seen electromagnetic energy appear on Electabuzz. If it had the Motor Drive ability, absorbing electricity to boost speed would make sense. But Electabuzz's ability was Static! How did it absorb that energy?

"Little Tong Si, congratulations!" Grandpa Chu approached, smiling and lingering a moment on Electabuzz. Clearly, he shared Tong Si's confusion.

"Haha, thank you, Grandpa Chu. Honestly, it was just luck," Tong Si scratched his head, unable to hide his joy.

"Luck only goes so far. You've trained your Electabuzz well. Now Xuanxuan won’t be quite so high and mighty. I hope she reflects on this battle."

Grandpa Chu glanced at Chu Xuanxuan, raising his voice intentionally.

"I know, Grandpa…"

Chu Xuanxuan had heard and stood up, a bit aggrieved.

"But Tong Si! Next time we meet, I’ll definitely defeat you!"

She was still holding back her frustration over the loss.

"Alright, I accept your challenge. I hope you'll be stronger next time."

Tong Si offered his fist. Chu Xuanxuan bumped it with her own—a promise of a rematch.

Grandpa Chu smiled knowingly at the scene.

The payment for the eleven Pokémon eggs had already been settled. After loading them into the car, Grandpa Chu delivered Tong Si and the eggs back to JOJO Breeding House. Once everything was unloaded, Grandpa Chu left without even staying for tea.

"Alright, you two, we're home," Tong Si said, eyeing the roomful of Pokémon eggs with excitement.

"With these eggs, it means JOJO Breeding House is officially open for business!"

Tong Si arranged the eleven eggs on the shelves. Although he didn't yet have incubator fluid for hatching, that didn't stop him from selling them.

Tong Si saw his points jump to 70,000 on the panel. He hadn't expected such a generous reward for this mission.

The system’s voice sounded again.

Tong Si discovered a small sapling had appeared before him. "An Oran Berry sapling? The system is really generous!"

He quickly took the sapling outside to plant it. With the help of Electabuzz and Eevee, they soon transplanted the Oran Berry sapling into the soil, right beside the orange tree.

He wondered how long it would take for the sapling to grow as robust as the orange tree.

"Phew, that was exhausting." Tong Si collapsed onto the ground. Transplanting a sapling was messy, tiring work—but seeing a new life in the yard filled him with delight.

A while later, Tong Si returned inside. Normally, no one would visit the breeding house, but he didn't feel disheartened. Selling Pokémon eggs was a matter of fate.

Besides, with only a few days left before the college entrance exam, students were focused on cramming and no one was thinking about buying Pokémon eggs.

Tong Si picked up the two Magikarp eggs and headed to the yard. He’d bought these two so he could hatch them and raise them in the pond.

These were part of the starter pack from the system, and he'd never used them until now.

Two red Magikarp appeared before Tong Si as the white light faded, flopping about energetically. Though newly hatched, they were already full of life, even competing to see whose Splash was higher and faster.

"Karuka-ru!"

"Karulu…"

Neither Magikarp was willing to lose.
