"Don't think you've won just yet! Pignite, break free from that Electroweb!"

"Hwooo!"

The scorching flames still burning on Pignite’s body instantly incinerated the entire web. Waiting for it on the outside was a powerful blow from Elekid.

"Thunder Punch!"

"Beep-beep!"

The Thunder Punch, crackling with intense electrical energy, struck Pignite squarely. The Pokémon stumbled back a few steps, letting out an angry roar. It was clear that Elekid’s ambush had truly provoked it.

"Let them see our real strength! Pignite, use Superpower!"

At this point in the battle, both sides were exhausted, and Peng Jie no longer intended to hold anything back. Superpower was a secret trump card Pignite had kept hidden. It was an egg move it had inherited at birth; both of its parents possessed exceptional genes, which was the only reason it could master such a formidable technique.

"Hwooo-ugh..."

Pignite roared in fury, then closed the distance toward Elekid with incredible speed.

"Don't fall for it! Elekid, use Quick Attack to dodge!"

Even though Tong Si was eager to see what level Elekid’s Brick Break had reached, going head-to-head against a move like Superpower would clearly be foolish. Dealing with Pignite’s assault by dodging and then counterattacking was the smart way to fight.

"Don't even think about running! Pignite, chase it down!"

Peng Jie was as confident in Pignite’s speed as Tong Si was in Elekid’s. This match had practically become a contest of pure speed. The audience held their breath, unable to believe what they were witnessing. Could a battle really be this intense? What puzzled the spectators most was how Pignite could be so fast. Even with a low base speed stat, could a Pokémon’s speed be pushed to this level through specialized training?

Mid-air, the two Pokémon brushed past each other repeatedly in a flurry of movement, but Pignite’s Superpower could never quite land on Elekid. It was evident that Elekid held the speed advantage.

"You’re a real nuisance! Do you have the guts to fight head-on?" Peng Jie shouted. What was the point of running? Was it going to fight or not?

"Are you having trouble up there?" Tong Si pointed to his head. "If I know Elekid will suffer in a head-on collision, why would I choose to engage?"

Hearing this, Peng Jie exploded with rage. "Switch tactics! Use Flame Charge!"

With no other choice, Peng Jie ordered Pignite to use Flame Charge. While Superpower did not increase speed, Flame Charge guaranteed a boost to the user's speed. Sure enough, Pignite finally caught up to Elekid.

"Heh..." Tong Si chuckled softly. Had Pignite really caught up? No. Elekid had intentionally slowed down.

"Charge! Full-power Volt Tackle!"

Tong Si’s command left many in the crowd stunned. Volt Tackle? Wasn't that the signature move of the Pikachu family? How could an Elekid possibly know it?

Across the field, Peng Jie mocked Tong Si, suggesting he had lost his mind from the stress of battle. To issue a command like Volt Tackle? Was this guy an idiot? Conversely, the few teachers in the audience who had seen the footage of Tong Si’s battle against Song Xuyang held their breath. Was it finally happening? Seeing it on video simply couldn't compare to the shock of seeing it live.

In the center of the arena, Elekid suddenly accelerated. A beam of charged energy flashed by. As the electrical energy stored up, every remaining spark was funneled outward. With the enhancement of its magnet, Elekid unleashed an ultimate Volt Tackle! The power behind this iteration was even greater than the last.

"What? It really is Volt Tackle?" Peng Jie was dumbfounded. This seemed to exceed the boundaries of his knowledge. As a top student at Ninghai City No. 3 University, he possessed excellent theoretical knowledge of Pokémon beyond just battling. Textbooks had always stated that Volt Tackle was the signature move of the Pikachu family. How was this possible? Teacher, this question is way off the syllabus!

Amidst the shock of the crowd, Elekid and Pignite collided. Ultimate Volt Tackle versus Flame Charge.

*Boom!*

Following the clash of electromagnetic force and flames, the result of the battle was finally decided. Pignite collapsed to the ground, unable to continue. Elekid stood in place, its body trembling. Clearly, the attack had taken its toll; every time it used Volt Tackle, there was recoil damage—enough to deplete nearly a third of its own health.

It was a painful price to pay, but Elekid managed to stand tall, waving its arms toward the cheering crowd.

"Beep-beep..."

The high-pitched cry sounded like a declaration of victory.

"Pignite is unable to battle. Elekid wins." The referee announced the result, his voice tinged with disbelief. He had to admit, this match had completely redefined his understanding of Elekid and Volt Tackle. He had never seen such a formidable Elekid, nor one that could use such a move. It was truly shocking!

"Roar... we won! Brother Tong Si won!"

"As expected of our Jiahua City’s Best Newcomer! I declare that Tong Si is the strongest freshman at Jiahua University!"

"Teacher Tong... please, you must take me as your apprentice! Whether it's Pokémon cultivation or battling, I want to learn from you! Of course, if you could teach me some private tricks on picking up girls, that would be even better, thanks!"

"Get lost! Teacher Tong is my teacher, get out of here! Teacher Tong, I know massage, acupuncture, and samba—just tell me what you like! Please, I beg you, take me as your apprentice!"

"Master Tong, I have the full collection of Ozawa-sensei's videos. You must take me as your apprentice!"

The scene had turned into a frenzy. After being mocked by Peng Jie earlier, the audience had been nursing a grudge, and now, that frustration had been released in a deafening roar. Every student from the Battle Department, along with those from other departments watching this friendly match, was stunned by Tong Si’s performance. Who cared about being from the Cultivation Department? Tong Si had proven that a skilled Trainer could excel anywhere. And what did a lower level matter? Even when challenging a higher-ranked opponent, Elekid could still emerge victorious.

Through his Scanning Eye, Tong Si saw on the data panel that after winning this fight, Elekid’s level had risen to twenty-eight. It was one step closer to evolution.

"As I thought, one must battle against truly strong trainers!" Tong Si’s conviction grew even firmer.

"Hahaha... are you all celebrating too early?" Just as the crowd was in high spirits, Peng Jie let out a sudden laugh. Although losing this round was bitter, the five-on-five gauntlet was far from over. Ninghai City No. 3 University still had four more students waiting to step onto the field!
