It... it... it is officially launching...

Dear readers, your author has finally made it to the official launch.

Heaven knows how I’ve survived this past month. Every day, it was nothing but typing and reading, reading and typing. Such a dull, monotonous life! For an entire month!

Let me tell you why I started this book. It was thirty percent vision and seventy percent impulse. I had the overall plot and the specific "hacks" for some of the Pokémon planned out long ago, but I hadn't written them down. Driven by the relentless prodding of the veteran readers in my chat group, I acted on impulse and turned that concept into this book.

Just like that... the book was born. Yes, this work is the product of youthful impulse. I couldn't hold myself back, and this little life—oh, wait! I mean this book—was born.

Now that we’ve reached the launch, let me briefly explain the update schedule. First, a minimum of ten chapters is guaranteed; that goes without saying. As a former "tentacle monster" of productivity, ten chapters is the bare minimum respect I can show for a launch. Those of you who know me know that when my previous book started, I was putting out ten thousand words a day. By the time it launched, I had written over 260,000 words in twenty-one days. This book has been a bit slower, with only 210,000 words written in over a month. However, going from one chapter a day to two, and now three, I think three chapters a day during the new book phase is quite respectable. (And I’ve never missed a day!)

Now, for the bonus chapter rules. (I’m borrowing these from other authors but lowering the difficulty.) The book currently has 3,700 followers. Based on a 1:10 subscription ratio, I should aim for 370, right? Of course, that’s just wishful thinking, so let’s lower it significantly—let’s go with fifty first-chapter subscriptions. Fifty is fair, right? Fifty isn't asking too much, is it? If I asked for more, that would be pushing it! (My last book had 1,800 followers at launch and still got fifty initial subscriptions.)

* If the first-chapter subscriptions exceed fifty, I will add one chapter for every additional fifty.
* If the average subscriptions exceed fifty, I will add one chapter for every additional fifty.
* For every 10,000 coins tipped, I will add one chapter.
* A "Grandmaster" backer? While unlikely, I’m still hoping! That would be ten plus one bonus chapters.
* As for monthly tickets and recommendation votes... I’ll leave that to you all. If there’s plenty, I’ll add a chapter.

The launch is expected to happen at midnight tomorrow. I will release ten chapters all at once. (Though I say tomorrow, it’s really just six hours away. I hope you’ll all subscribe! Please!)

The deadline for calculating the bonus chapters mentioned above is tomorrow at 6:00 PM. Starting from 6:00 PM tomorrow, I will begin fulfilling the bonus chapters. (It would be embarrassing if I didn't owe any! ∑(O_O;))

I beg you, my dear readers, please support me with your first-chapter subscriptions. Whether you usually read the official version or pirated ones, I’m begging you! At least for this first time... give the author a subscription, please? Please, please! (Please, push me hard—I have so many drafts saved up that I’m starting to get complacent! Drain me dry!)

By the way, regarding updates after the launch: Those of you who know me know I quit my job at the end of June. (Quitting is truly amazing! I’ve been letting myself run wild!) I stayed home for two months, started this book in August, and typed for a month in September. The conclusion I’ve reached is this: writing won’t pay off my credit card bills; I’ll have to go out and get a real job.

In October, I’ll be looking for work, so I won't be able to write as many words every day. I’ll strive for three chapters a day. If that’s not possible, I’ll guarantee at least two. On my days off, I might do four or five. Of course, if there are major tips after the launch, I will still add chapters—one for every 10,000 coins. That’s my way of giving back to those who support me. (Even if I don’t sleep, I will finish the bonus chapters.)
