After finishing his conversation with Wenans, each returned to their respective classes.

By the way, Wenans was surprisingly on the fourth floor of the teaching building as well.

His classroom was two doors down from Tongsi’s.

He was in the Archaeology Department, also a niche field, with only one class.

In fact, their class size was even smaller than the Breeding Class, with just twenty-one students.

“It’s fine, Teacher. Yesterday I fought for the honor of the Breeding Class, no need to thank me,” Tongsi replied with a smile.

Xia Yan pondered for a moment and then said slowly, “About yesterday’s battle—it was originally just between the Breeding Class and the Grass-Type Class. The Fire-Type Class was at most just a witness. But somehow, the news spread and became known throughout the school. The Dean of Academics has specifically requested to see you by name. Shall I take you there?”

“The Dean wants to see me?” Tongsi was a little puzzled. The private competition between two classes hadn’t been prohibited by the academy.

Could it be that the Grass-Type Class lost face because the Breeding Class defeated them?

“Teacher Xia, you may leave now. I want to speak with Tongsi alone,” said the Dean with a meaningful glance at Xia Yan.

“You two go ahead, I’ll leave first,” Xia Yan said, then exited promptly.

With only Tongsi and the Dean left in the office, the atmosphere grew somewhat heavy.

Tongsi wasn’t sure why he had been summoned.

“Tongsi, my surname is Gu. You can just call me Teacher Gu,” the Dean introduced himself.

“Nice to meet you, Teacher Gu,” Tongsi replied politely.

“I watched your Newcomer Champion Tournament videos last night. I have to say, those three Pokémon battles were perfect, flawless. The other three Newcomer Champions are all from Jia Hua University, but compared to you, they can’t even be called champions. So your title as Best Newcomer Champion is truly well-deserved,” Teacher Gu praised with a smile.

Tongsi felt a bit embarrassed by the compliments.

Was the sudden summons about the Newcomer Champion title?

“Of course, the reason I watched your tournament footage was because of an incident yesterday,” Teacher Gu said, a smile tugging at his lips. “I heard the Breeding Class had a ten-on-ten battle with the Grass-Type Class and won.”

“To be honest, when I first heard that, I thought it was a joke. But with so many teachers from the Fire-Type Class involved, they can’t all be lying, right?” Teacher Gu gestured animatedly as he spoke. “So I investigated and watched the replay. After seeing it, I was in disbelief. The Breeding Class actually has students that strong in Pokémon battles? That’s incredible!”

“Then I dug a little deeper and found out that the amazing student was you, Tongsi!” Teacher Gu pointed at him, his gaze deepening.

Tongsi stood silently.

“Tongsi, I must admit, you’ve done an incredible job training your Electrike. I’ve never seen an Electrike trained so well. Even Electrike with higher innate potential might not reach the level yours achieved yesterday. Its Volt Attack even caught the attention of Teacher Ge from the Electric-Type Class, who asked me about you, hoping you would transfer to their class. Actually, transfers between departments or classes aren’t usually allowed until after a year, when you can take the transfer exam. But the teachers from the Battle-Type Department, upon learning you’re from the Breeding Class, have also approached me, hoping to recruit you. This puts me in a bit of a dilemma,” Teacher Gu shrugged, looking somewhat helpless.

At this point, Tongsi roughly understood Teacher Gu’s purpose for calling him.

They wanted to poach him.

Many class advisors, after hearing that the Breeding Class had beaten the Grass-Type Class, must have been curious enough to watch yesterday’s battle footage.

Seeing Tongsi’s strength, they all wanted to recruit him to their classes.

After all, who wouldn’t want a student as strong as Tongsi in their class?

“Teacher Gu, I understand why you called me here today, but I have no intention of changing my major or class at the moment,” Tongsi said honestly.

“Tongsi, I did some background check. I know your family runs a breeding shop. But that doesn’t mean you have to follow the path of a Pokémon breeder. Behind every successful breeding shop, there’s a powerful trainer supporting it. If you want your shop to grow and prosper, I suggest you consider specializing in Pokémon battles and enhancing your skills.”

After thinking it over, Teacher Gu gave Tongsi this advice.

“I understand what you mean, but for now, I’m fine with the Breeding Class.”

In fact, when Tongsi first arrived at the Breeding Class yesterday, he had even thought, “Maybe I should have switched classes.”

But after the intense ten-on-ten battle yesterday, Tongsi suddenly felt a sense of belonging to this class.

Everyone had fought their hardest for the Breeding Class—now suddenly leaving felt strange.

Besides, as he had told Wenans, Pokémon battles weren’t difficult; the real challenge was breeding strong Pokémon.

Tongsi thought staying in the Breeding Class wasn’t a bad thing at all.
