"Ahhh... Spare me, spare me!"
Tuoba Ye screamed in utter terror as if facing the gods themselves. Suddenly, he turned and fled from the manor without a second thought.
He was already scared out of his wits, his legs trembling uncontrollably, and a sudden warmth spread in his trousers.
It was too horrifying.
If he had to face Chen Changsheng for even a few more seconds, he would have been utterly annihilated.
Run, run, run!
Faster, faster, faster!
What the hell—how could there be such a terrifying master in this godforsaken place?
Curse the immortals!
"What just happened..."
Watching Tuoba Ye's panic-stricken retreat, Chen Changsheng was completely dumbfounded. He had just watched as Tuoba Ye's war blade suddenly shattered and vanished, and Tuoba Ye himself spouted blood from his seven orifices, in a scene as tragic as it was unbelievable.
It felt like a dream.
Only after Tuoba Ye disappeared from sight did Chen Changsheng snap out of it. He blinked, utterly baffled, and looked at Huangfu Meng. "Miss Huangfu, do you know what just happened?"
A sharp intake of breath.
Huangfu Meng looked at Chen Changsheng with terror so intense her voice trembled. "Ch-Ch-Chen... Young Master Chen, you really don't know what happened?"
"I'm just an ordinary mortal. I know nothing of cultivation, truly—I have no idea what occurred," Chen Changsheng replied, shaking his head with an innocent expression.
"An ordinary mortal?"
Huangfu Meng was stunned, unable to believe her ears.
Without even moving, he had shattered Tuoba Ye’s war blade to dust and gravely injured Tuoba Ye himself. That was beyond extraordinary!
Yet he claimed to be a mere mortal.
Well, it seemed she had encountered a master of subtlety today.
As Huangfu Meng returned to her senses, her gaze toward Chen Changsheng was filled with awe. She didn’t even dare to breathe heavily, her body subtly trembling.
"Miss Huangfu, you seem rather nervous. Is something wrong?"
Chen Changsheng looked at Huangfu Meng in puzzlement, thinking to himself, I’m not exactly ugly—why does she look at me as if she’s seen a dinosaur?
Huangfu Meng exhaled deeply, doing her best to compose herself, though the reverence in her eyes did not fade.

She was about to speak when Chen Changsheng’s expression suddenly changed. “Oh no—my Die’er… Die’er!”
Outside the manor, Die’er was still waiting. If Tuoba Ye took action against her…
Chen Changsheng dared not imagine further; without hesitation, he sprinted for the manor gates.
He cursed himself a thousand times—why had he left Die’er outside alone? He should have brought her in with him.
What if Tuoba Ye harmed her?
"Young Master Chen, wait for me!"
Huangfu Meng cried out, hurrying after Chen Changsheng, racing toward the manor entrance.
Her own heart was in turmoil.
This young and handsome father was a supreme expert—if anything happened to his daughter…
She dared not imagine what a rampaging top cultivator might do.
Meanwhile, Tuoba Ye had already reached the manor gates.
And then, he froze.
He saw a little girl standing there alone, munching on snacks with a loud crunch. Her arms were full of treats.
"You… You’re Tuoba Ye, the infamous villain? You actually made it out?"
Seeing Tuoba Ye rush out, the little girl was stunned. Her mouth opened in surprise, her eyes wide with disbelief.
Crumbs of her snack clung to her lips and chest.
This shouldn’t have happened—what was Dad doing?
"You know who I am?"
Tuoba Ye was aghast. “Since you know I’m Tuoba Ye, why aren’t you running away?”
Even without a mirror, Tuoba Ye knew how fearsome he must look—blood pouring from his orifices, as terrifying as could be.
Yet the little girl before him showed only surprise, not a trace of fear.
Unbelievable!
"Little one, it’s your own bad luck to run into me."
Wounded and humiliated by the terrifying force that had struck him inside the manor, Tuoba Ye’s fear now turned to madness. He lunged at the girl, eyes wild and murderous.
But in the next instant, he saw the little girl extend a finger and flick it lightly.
Whoosh—
The temperature plummeted. In a flash, the air froze into solid ice, a white wave hurtling toward him. Tuoba Ye had no time to react before he was frozen in midair, utterly immobilized.

He tried to speak, but no sound escaped him. The thick ice sealed him off from the world.
Cold!
Utterly, unbearably cold!
Ahhh—!
Spare me, great hero!
Tuoba Ye screamed silently inside, overwhelmed by terror. His face was pressed tight against the ice, twisted in agony and dread.
Heaven and earth—what kind of nightmare was this? I give up, I want to go home!
First, inside the manor, a young man who appeared to have no cultivation had injured him grievously with a formless power.
He'd barely escaped, only to be frozen solid at the gate by a terrifying little girl’s casual gesture.
Wasn’t this supposed to be a remote, insignificant village? How could it hide such powerful recluses?
Then, he saw the little girl wave her tiny arm at him.
No, not that…!
Even within the ice, Tuoba Ye could feel a force like a tidal wave surging toward him.
His courage failed completely. His eyes, wide as saucers, filled with utter despair.
But he could make no sound, only watch, helpless.
He saw the ice around him shatter into powder.
His body, too, crumbled into dust, dissolving with the frost in an instant, vanishing without a trace.
Not the slightest mark remained, as if Tuoba Ye had never existed.
Crunch!
The little girl picked up a bun, bit into it with a crisp snap, as though nothing had happened, savoring it with relish.
Strangely, she felt this bite was more fragrant and crunchy than any before, her eyes shining with delight.
“Could it be… that after killing a bad guy, the bun tastes better?”
Puzzled, she glanced back at the manor, just in time to see Chen Changsheng racing toward her, drenched in sweat, with Huangfu Meng close behind.
"Die’er!"
Chen Changsheng ran over, scooping Die’er into his arms. He wiped the sweat from his brow. "Thank goodness you’re safe—you nearly scared your old dad to death."
