Chapter 55: The Remnant Soul of the Demon Dragon (Part 2)
“Mu’er, this time you have saved the entire Southern Domain. As the Prince of the Southern Domain, it is only fitting that I reward you with this Thousand Forms World.” Bing Changtian laughed, not allowing Bing Mu’er any chance to refuse. With a wave of his hand, he tossed the Thousand Forms World toward her.
Bing Mu’er raised her hand and caught the golden book, immediately sensing the intense, ancient aura emanating from it.
“Bing’er, why not open it and have a look?” Bing Changtian said with a faint smile.
Within the crowd, Nie Long’s lips curled into a cold, sinister smile, but at the same time, he sighed inwardly. Bing Changtian, that scoundrel, was indeed ruthless, setting his own daughter up like this.
Bing Mu’er gazed intently at the golden book. She knew Bing Changtian wasn’t lying—this was truly a rare and priceless treasure. But she also understood that he would never give such a treasure away for nothing.
What deadly trap had he set?
“What is there to fear? With Lord Chen behind me, nothing can truly harm me.” Gritting her teeth, Bing Mu’er opened the Thousand Forms World.
The moment she flipped open the golden book, a plume of black smoke shot out, swiftly burrowing into her brow.
“Ugh…” Bing Mu’er froze. “This Thousand Forms World…”
Suddenly, her body trembled violently, and a wild, maniacal laughter burst from her lips. “Hahaha! After endless ages of imprisonment, I am finally free to see the light of day once more!”
The voice was that of an extremely ancient man.
Everyone present was stunned, their jaws nearly hitting the floor.
From the mouth of a young woman came the voice of an old man—so bizarre it defied belief.
Clearly, this was not her own voice. Within her body, another soul now resided; two souls sharing one vessel.
“Ah, damn it! What is this?” Suddenly, a woman’s scream resounded from Bing Mu’er’s mouth. Her eyes abruptly filled with demonic energy, turning pitch black in an instant.
They were none other than the Eternal Demon Eyes—eyes so fearsome that a single glance seemed capable of drawing in one’s very soul.
Her body shuddered, and pain twisted her face. In that moment, she clearly sensed a remnant soul of a demon dragon within her, madly eroding her own soul, seeking to seize control of her body.
This soul-devouring torment felt as if a branding iron was scorching the depths of her spirit—a pain beyond endurance.
She frantically mobilized her profound energy, striving to resist the demon dragon’s remnant soul.
“Haha, little one, there’s no use resisting.” In a blink, the ancient, crazed laughter issued from her lips again. “Your body is of decent quality. The only flaw is that you’re a woman, but I’m not picky—I’ll make do.”
“Damn you, evil dragon! Get out of my body!”
“Haha, child, any resistance before me is futile. Surrender and let me erase you!”
Two voices, male and female, continually alternated from Bing Mu’er’s lips—a scene so eerie it seemed unreal, as if in a dream.
Dark energy surged and rolled from her delicate frame, making her appear like a demon lord descending upon the world.
Everyone present drew sharp breaths, ready for battle. In that instant, they could all feel it—a terrifying, evil presence had returned to the world.
Bing Changtian and Nie Long were both aghast. They had of course known that the Thousand Forms World contained the sealed remnant soul of a demon dragon, but they had not expected it to be so terrifying.
“Bing Changtian, so you did have ulterior motives! The Thousand Forms World harbored a demon dragon’s remnant soul all along!” Elder Hua’s face turned livid as he roared at Bing Changtian. “This so-called celebration, this reward for the young princess, was nothing but a ploy to use the demon dragon’s soul to destroy her!”
Mu Wanqing, Huangfu Meng, Nangong Ba, and Baili Song were all consumed by rage. They had suspected from the start that this celebration was a trap set by Bing Changtian for the young princess, but they never imagined he would use a demon dragon’s soul to kill her.
Utterly evil!
In truth, Bing Changtian was a hundred times more wicked than they could have guessed.
“Elder Hua, you wrong me! I know you have always been loyal to the young princess, but this time, I truly don’t know how this happened!” Bing Changtian, though elated inwardly at Bing Mu’er’s plight, wore a look of grievance on the surface. “The young princess is my daughter, and she just saved the entire Southern Domain. How could I possibly wish her harm? Besides, she has Master Chen backing her—a transcendent expert. Even if I were a thousand times bolder, I would not dare harm her!”
Nie Long, hidden in the crowd, sneered inwardly. Bing Changtian was utterly despicable, laying such a deadly trap yet still feigning innocence.
Disgusting! It was doubtful the world could find anyone more evil than him.
But then…
Bing Changtian suddenly turned to Nie Long, his face twisting with rage. “Nie Long, this is your doing! The Thousand Forms World was a gift from you. So, it contained a demon dragon’s remnant soul all along! It’s said that your son was forced to his death by the young princess at the Tomb of the Demon Emperor. You must have borne her a grudge and specifically gave me the Thousand Forms World, hoping I would use it to destroy her!”
Nie Long was dumbfounded. He never imagined Bing Changtian would shift the blame onto him.
Damn it!
Everyone present was equally stunned, all turning toward Nie Long in shock.
“I remember now. The Thousand Dragon Sect is indeed known for its dragon bloodline!”
“So, the demon dragon’s soul within the young princess must have come from the Thousand Dragon Sect!”
“For one of the two great Heaven-ranked sects of the Southern Domain to stoop so low—how shameful!”
“Nie Long, as the sect master of the Thousand Dragon Sect, to employ such vile means is beneath contempt!”
The crowd erupted in outrage, voices rising in condemnation.
“Bing Changtian, stop slandering me!” Nie Long was nearly beside himself with fury. “You personally came to my sect to borrow the Thousand Forms World. It is our Thousand Dragon Sect’s most prized treasure—why would I give it to you?”
Bing Changtian’s shamelessness defied belief.
“What’s impossible about it? Your only son was driven to his death by the young princess. To avenge him, you would gladly give up the Thousand Forms World, or even your entire Thousand Dragon Sect!” Bing Changtian retorted coldly. “The young princess is my daughter. Why would I harm her? Moreover, she has just saved the Southern Domain. As her father, I am covered in glory! Tell me, who here would believe that I would go to such lengths, holding this grand celebration, only to harm my own daughter in such a despicable way?”
