Chapter 161: Young Master Chen's Ambitious Vision
Chen Changsheng accepted everything that came his way. Regardless of the kinds of gifts these people brought, he took them all without exception.
In this world, apart from all the fighting and killing, people were truly exceptionally kind and wonderful. Just look at these top figures from various sects—how considerate they were.
However, looking at the growing piles of celestial treasures, rare artifacts, and magical treasures, Chen Changsheng furrowed his brow slightly and muttered, "I am merely a mortal, sigh!"
Di Shitian and the other demon clan members, along with Dongfang Qianxue and her companions, all wore peculiar expressions as they stood there in a daze, looking at one another in dismay.
To their ears, Chen Changsheng was clearly looking down upon these items.
Naturally, Young Master Chen had already attained a state of returning to his natural simplicity; how could he possibly care for such worldly goods? No matter how precious the heavenly treasures were, in his eyes, they were nothing more than dog shit.
"You few, take these and divide them among yourselves. Pick whatever you like," Chen Changsheng said casually to the Five Golden Flowers and Lou Meisha.
"Ah, so many precious items, and you're giving all of them to us?"
Dongfang Qianxue and the other six were completely stunned, hardly believing their own ears.
"Of course," Chen Changsheng waved a hand. "These things are of no use to me anyway."
As he spoke, a trace of resentment inevitably welled up in his heart. It was all the fault of that utterly useless system; if it had only brought him onto the path of cultivation in the first place, he would have had some use for all these celestial treasures.
"Thank you, Young Master Chen!"
Dongfang Qianxue, the other four women, and Lou Meisha were all overjoyed.
One could only imagine the immense value of the collections sent by the major powers of the Sanctuary.
With these heavenly treasures, the six of them would be able to elevate their cultivation levels significantly in the future.
Furthermore, since they were about to accompany Young Master Chen to the Realm of Gods, this batch of heavenly treasures had arrived at the most opportune moment.
Ah, being mere chess pieces in the hands of Young Master Chen felt simply too blissful!
"The higher-ups of these factions are truly quite strange. Why on earth are they trying to suck up to and please me?" Chen Changsheng touched his chin and asked, puzzled.
He was merely a mortal after all, and he would soon be leaving this Chant-Snow Realm to enter the Realm of Gods.
"Young Master Chen, you are, after all, a person who came from the world of immortals and gods."
Di Shitian smiled faintly and said, "Naturally, these sect leaders will try their best to cozy up to you. Even if you might not necessarily grant them any tangible benefits—and even though you will soon leave the Chant-Snow Realm to enter that world of immortals and gods—your very existence serves as a deterrent.
In the future, as long as they can simply say, 'Young Master Chen is my friend,' who would dare lay a finger on them?"
That made sense!
Chen Changsheng blinked and sweat dropped internally. These faction leaders were indeed all consummate schemers!
That being the case, the flattery that Miss Mu had once offered—even though it initially missed the mark—was actually quite brilliant, as it had made everyone in the Chant-Snow Realm look to him as their leader in an instant.
Immediately afterwards, he shrugged helplessly. "Except that I am merely a mortal."
Di Shitian was momentarily stunned, and then burst into hearty laughter. "Right, Young Master Chen, you are merely a mortal. Hahaha, merely a mortal!"
Chen Changsheng's breath hitched slightly. What did this old fellow mean by laughing so exaggeratedly? I really am just a mortal, alright?
I am telling the truth! Why won't anyone believe me? All that talk about coming from the world of immortals and gods was just something Miss Mu made up to flatter me.
Chen Changsheng let out a silent breath. Whatever; people in every world were the same—they never believed the truth, only lies.
***
In the side hall where Chen Changsheng and his daughter lived:
"Young Master Chen, when shall we ascend the Eternal Ladder and enter the Realm of Gods?"
The Blood Demon Ancestor emerged from Chen Die'er's necklace and asked Chen Changsheng.
Clearly, he was somewhat impatient to return to the Realm of Gods.
"In a few days. We need to make a trip back to Clear Water Town first."
Chen Changsheng rubbed the space between his brows. Having transmigrated from Earth to the Chant-Snow Realm, he had stayed here for three years. Now that departure was imminent, he suddenly felt a lingering reluctance.
"Right, Old Demon, are you certain you can break the restrictions on the Eternal Ladder and lead us into the Realm of Gods?" Chen Changsheng asked the Blood Demon Ancestor.
"Certain," the Blood Demon Ancestor nodded affirmatively, chuckling inwardly. With Young Master Chen here, what could possibly fail?
You are truly a supreme big shot!
"That's good."
Chen Changsheng exhaled softly. His current plan was to bring the entire demon clan into the Realm of Gods together.
That way, he could establish his own sphere of influence in the Realm of Gods in the future.
Pausing for a moment, Chen Changsheng asked again, "Old Demon, to what extent has your memory recovered? How much do you remember about the situation in the Realm of Gods now?"
Beside him, Chen Die'er's bright, spirited eyes blinked as she stared at the Blood Demon Ancestor.
The Blood Demon Ancestor smiled and said, "Ever since I devoured the Heaven-Destroying Hand unleashed by the Ancient Clan during that previous battle, this old demon's memories have recovered quite a bit.
Now, I remember everything clearly. The Realm of Gods does indeed have a demon clan. In addition, the Spirit Clan, the Divine Dragon Clan, and the Divine Phoenix Clan all exist there as well.
Moreover, the demon clan, Spirit Clan, Divine Dragon Clan, and Divine Phoenix Clan in the Realm of Gods are extremely powerful. Compared to them, the demon clan of the Chant-Snow Realm is practically a drop in the ocean."
Hearing this, Chen Changsheng was slightly startled.
The demon forces in the Sanctuary of the Chant-Snow Realm were by no means weak; prior to the great battle, they were second only to the Ancient Clan, the peak family of the Chant-Snow Realm. Yet, compared to the demon clan in the Realm of Gods, such a force was merely a drop in the ocean.
Furthermore, apart from the demon clan, the Realm of Gods also housed the Spirit Clan, the Divine Dragon Clan, and the Divine Phoenix Clan—all three of which were super-clans.
One could only imagine how terrifying the Realm of Gods truly was.
"Then what about the fragments of the Primordial Cauldron?"
Chen Changsheng rubbed his temples again and asked the Blood Demon Ancestor, "Do you have any memories regarding the fragments of the Primordial Cauldron in the Realm of Gods?"
The Primordial Cauldron was the supreme treasure of heaven and earth. If he could collect all of its fragments and then restore it to its original form, it would be beyond amazing.
As long as he possessed the Primordial Cauldron, the entire universe would undoubtedly belong to him!
The Blood Demon Ancestor fell into deep thought. After a long while, he finally shook his head. "I have no memories regarding the fragments of the Primordial Cauldron. Perhaps there are no legends about Primordial Cauldron fragments in the Realm of Gods, or perhaps I simply haven't recalled them yet.
However, it is abundantly clear that the Gate of Void existing on the Eternal Ladder is nine times out of ten a fragment of the Primordial Cauldron. Otherwise, Tianwu could never have banished me into this barren Chant-Snow Realm."
"Very well. If the Gate of Void truly is a fragment of the Primordial Cauldron, we'll just collect it when the time comes."
Chen Changsheng said with a faint smile. How could he possibly let slip a fragment of the supreme treasure of heaven and earth?
With a burning gaze, the Blood Demon Ancestor pondered aloud, "Young Master Chen, back in the Primordial Era, the Primordial Cauldron shattered the Primordial World. It stands to reason that there are many fragments of the Primordial Cauldron scattered across this universe, as well as many fragments of the Primordial World like the Chant-Snow Realm. Do you think it's possible that within every Primordial World fragment, there exists a fragment of the Primordial Cauldron?"
Hearing this, Chen Changsheng's eyes lit up brightly. "That is entirely possible."
