Chapter 96: The Food Delivery App Is Ready to Launch!
Chen Luo watched as those shapely legs in black stockings came at him, and only then did he realize it was Wen Wan performing a side split kick. The lines of her thighs, her flexibility—such a formidable side attack left Chen Luo so stunned that he even forgot to dodge.
With a loud thud, Chen Luo was sent stumbling backward and fell to the ground.
“Ow, that hurts!” he cried out, scrambling to get up.
But just as he moved, a sharp, silken sensation gripped his neck. Wen Wan had wrapped both legs around his head, pinning his hands to her chest.
“What the—? Honey, since when did you pick up wrestling moves like this?”
“I have many skills. Want to try them out while thinking about Tang Xiwei?” Wen Wan teased, her face playful, but her grip firm, making his wrists creak under the pressure.
“Stop! You’re going to break them! I wasn’t even thinking about her, really!”
Chen Luo slapped the floor in surrender. “I yield! I yield! I’ll forget who she is for good!”
“That’s better,” Wen Wan chuckled, releasing his hands. But as she was about to let go of his head, Chen Luo wrapped his arms around her legs.
“Let go of my hands, but not this. It’s my first time experiencing the ‘Black Stocking Guillotine.’ Let me enjoy it a little longer.”
Wen Wan rolled her eyes. This little rascal was getting bolder by the day, especially here in the office. Still, as long as he was happy, she didn’t mind.
Instead of pulling away, Wen Wan gently massaged his neck and head with her thighs, making Chen Luo close his eyes in bliss. Their private moment lasted for over half an hour—a little indulgence during work.
Just then, a knock came at the door.
“Director Wen, it’s Hongye. I have something urgent for Chen Luo.”
Hongye stood outside, waiting for a response.
“Let go! Hongye’s here!” Wen Wan whispered.
“Come on, I just want to enjoy this a bit longer—the feeling is incredible, so smooth…”
“Enough nonsense. Get up and fix your clothes!”
What?
Hearing the voices inside, Hongye covered her mouth in shock. Director Wen and Chen Luo were really bold, doing this in the office? She’d heard rumors it was especially thrilling to do such things at work—no wonder all those romance films drew inspiration from real life. As the saying goes, art comes from life but rises above it.
The door suddenly swung open. Hongye looked up to see Chen Luo’s clothes dusty, while Wen Wan’s cheeks still glowed with a faint blush as she sat at her desk. As expected, Director Wen knew how to have fun—they’d even ended up on the floor.
A little embarrassed under Hongye’s gaze, Wen Wan quickly spoke. “Hongye, what did you need to see Chen Luo about?”
Trying not to laugh, Hongye kept a straight face. “Director Wen, the food delivery app is ready for launch. Also, Zhou Zheng has discovered something and wants Chen Luo to discuss it with him.”
Hearing this, Chen Luo recalled what Zhou Mei had mentioned—another company was actively developing a food delivery app.
“Alright, I’ll go right away.” Chen Luo nodded to Wen Wan, an understanding passing silently between them.
Hongye drove Chen Luo to Zhou Mei’s studio. Without hesitation, Chen Luo entered. Inside, only Zhou Zheng and Zhou Mei sat across from each other, both looking troubled.
“Senior, what’s wrong? Is the app not working as planned?” Chen Luo asked, taking a seat beside Zhou Zheng.
“No, it’s working well. The issue is with our competitor…” Zhou Zheng replied.
Chen Luo frowned. For someone like Zhou Zheng, heir to the top restaurant group in Hangzhou, to say this, their rival must be formidable.
Hongye spoke up, “Mr. Zhou, if necessary, our company will support you.”
That made it clear Wen Wan was willing to get involved. And if she did, there were few in the southeastern region who could match her influence.
“If your company intervenes, things could escalate quickly,” Zhou Mei said, glancing at Chen Luo before hesitating.
“The competitor’s real boss is Ye Lina. If you step in, it’ll become an all-out war between the Wen family in Beijing and the Ye family.”
Hearing this, Hongye’s face darkened. “Is the Ye family really declaring war?”
But Chen Luo didn’t look especially surprised. After all, this was a pivotal moment, and with Ye Lina’s abilities and vision, it was no wonder she’d recognize the opportunity.
“Zhou Mei, from what you’re saying, does that mean Ye Lina won’t get directly involved unless Wen Wan or her company does?” Chen Luo asked.
Zhou Mei and Zhou Zheng paused, considering that.
“As long as Wen Wan’s company stays out, Ye Lina won’t step in personally—she’ll just give advice from behind the scenes.”
Zhou Zheng clapped, laughing. “Junior, that’s some clever thinking, but it doesn’t change the overall situation much.”
Zhou Mei added, “Even with Ye Lina just advising, we might not stand a chance.”
“That’s not necessarily true,” Chen Luo replied, standing up with a confident smile.
The siblings exchanged glances, thinking Chen Luo was overestimating himself. He was certainly talented, but the resources and experience of the great families were not so easily challenged.
Zhou Mei wanted to persuade him, but seeing his confident expression, she swallowed her words. Could he really be so sure of competing with Ye Lina’s business acumen?
Chen Luo indeed had confidence. He might lack Ye Lina’s experience, but in terms of understanding food delivery apps, he was ahead of his time.
“Prepare for launch tomorrow. Let’s seize the initiative ourselves!” he declared.
…
Hangzhou University’s female dormitory building.
Lin Tingting slipped to a secluded corner of the corridor and held her phone to her ear.
“Xiwei! Where are you? Are you really dropping out? Have you lost your mind?”
“Tingting, don’t worry. I’m in Beijing. I’ll be back soon.”
“When I return to Hangzhou, it will be the end for Chen Luo and Wen Wan!”
“Until then, keep an eye on Chen Luo for me. Report everything he does, every detail. Understand?”
Before she could reply, Tang Xiwei hung up from faraway Beijing, then turned to see a man watching her with a smile.
“So, you truly believe you’re valuable enough for me to use?”
