Chapter 101 Unblocking the Meridians
The paparazzo was so excited he nearly jumped up, clutching his phone as if he’d just scratched off a lottery ticket worth half a million.
“Haha! With these fifty thousand, I can finally pay back Chen’s money!”
“Even though Chen never asked me to repay, I can’t be heartless!”
“And this fifty thousand—I got it by selling Chen’s ‘dirt’...”
Thinking of this, the paparazzo couldn’t help but be moved to tears.
He choked up, murmuring, “It must be because Chen knew I was struggling, so he specially asked me to edit his ‘dirt’, just so I could earn money from Xu Fangyuan.”
“Chen truly is the best person in the world! I must not betray his trust!”
The paparazzo wiped away his tears, his expression resolute.
At that moment, he noticed Xu Fangyuan’s call coming in.
He picked up his phone and answered, hearing Xu Fangyuan’s urgent voice over the line.
“I’ve sent the money. Check if you’ve received it!”
“It’s arrived,” he replied.
“Good, then send me Su Chen’s dirt immediately!”
Xu Fangyuan barked, desperate, “I’m giving you five minutes. If I don’t see his dirt in five minutes, you’re dead!!!”
Now that fifty thousand was in hand, the paparazzo was in high spirits, paying no mind to Xu Fangyuan’s attitude.
He cheerfully responded, hung up, and sat back at his computer, sending the pre-edited video via email to Xu Fangyuan’s inbox.
Watching the intentionally edited video go out, a cold smile curled at the paparazzo’s lips.
Slander and cyberbullying are now criminal offenses.
He’d recorded the entire conversation with Xu Fangyuan, and hadn’t definitively said Su Chen had fought—only implied the possibility.
With the specially edited video, Xu Fangyuan would surely jump to conclusions, never suspecting she was being deceived.
If Xu Fangyuan spread the video widely and the police traced it back to him, he’d at most be detained for a couple of days.
But if the police traced it to Xu Fangyuan, she’d be in real trouble!
He’d decided that if she couldn’t be found, he’d release the call recordings from these days, dragging Xu Fangyuan down with him.
Anyway, he now had the money for Nan Nan’s medical treatment—he had nothing left to fear!
Elsewhere, Xu Fangyuan opened her computer and clicked on the paparazzo’s email.
She watched the video like a ravenous dog pouncing on food, her bloodshot eyes glued to the screen, barely an inch away.
Just then, her phone rang again.
Annoyed, she wanted to hang up, but when she saw the caller ID, it was a subordinate she’d planted at the company.
Why would they call at this hour? Did something happen at the company?
With these thoughts, she suppressed her eagerness to see Su Chen’s dirt, and answered.
“Hello! What is it?” Xu Fangyuan’s tone was harsh.
The person on the other end sensed her foul mood and spoke nervously, “Sister Yuan, you told me to keep an eye on any news about Su Chen online. I just received—”
“What news?” Xu Fangyuan frowned.
“I was scrolling on TikTok this morning, and saw someone had posted a video of Su Chen involved in a fight.”
“What?!”
Xu Fangyuan was stunned, quickly asking, “Where is the video? Send me a copy, now!”
“Y-yes!”
Within minutes, another email arrived in Xu Fangyuan’s inbox; she read it while still on the phone.
When she saw Su Chen being taken away by police, instead of feeling happy, her mood soured to rage.
“Damn it! Why didn’t you send this to me earlier!”
Her sudden anger left the subordinate flustered, his timid voice came through the phone.
“I—I only just saw it...”
Xu Fangyuan roared, “What’s the point of keeping useless trash like you around?! Get lost!!”
She hung up, slumping in front of her computer.
“Looks like this is the same incident the paparazzo filmed. Didn’t expect it’s already gone viral on TikTok...”
“Damn! That cost me an extra fifty thousand!”
Her face twisted with rage as she snarled, “Let’s see what the paparazzo sent me... If it’s the exact same video, he’ll never know peace in his life, haha!”
“No one’s going to scam me!” Xu Fangyuan growled, voice low and threatening.
After venting her anger, she hurriedly opened the video from the paparazzo.
Unlike the one circulating on TikTok, this video was clearly shot earlier.
In the footage, Su Chen was seen fighting four thugs, and even scenes where he ignored the police and injured an elderly man with a knife.
Seeing this, the fury that had been simmering inside Xu Fangyuan finally dissipated.
Though she’d overpaid for the video, this was entirely different from what was online.
Those were just rumors, but this was incontrovertible evidence!
“Hmph... For the quality of this video, I’ll spare the paparazzo for now. Once I’ve dealt with Su Chen, I’ll make him cough up everything he swallowed!”
Xu Fangyuan smirked darkly, “With this video, Su Chen has no room for denial!”
“Heh, just as I expected—fighting, injuring others! If Yanran doesn’t split soon, who knows how much worse he’ll drag her down!”
Delighted, Xu Fangyuan quickly saved the video to her computer, then sent it by email to Lin Yanran and the company’s PR team.
Afterwards, she picked up her phone and opened WeChat.
First, she messaged the head of the entertainment department at Starfire.
Xu Fangyuan: I just sent you some dirt on Su Chen, who’s currently competing on ‘Tomorrow’s Star.’
Xu Fangyuan: I have only one demand—by noon, I want to see this video trending!
Then she opened Lin Yanran’s chat and sent a message.
Xu Fangyuan: Darling, I’ve sent you something good, check your email once you wake up~
Xu Fangyuan: Don’t thank me too much after you watch it, this is all just what I should do~
After sending these, Xu Fangyuan thought about catching a nap, but excitement kept her awake.
She rolled around in bed, her mood buoyant, and her thoughts drifted to the strong, handsome male models at the club, filling her with restless longing.
“No sleep! I’ll go find a model to help loosen my muscles!”
Thinking of the pleasure to come, Xu Fangyuan chuckled like a mother hen.
“Cluck, cluck, cluck!”
