Chapter 66: You Write Me a IOU!
Chapter 66: You Better Write Me An IOU!!!
Until the final drafts locked in both team compositions, iG still did not pull out another support champion.
This meant one thing.
Cheng Xian's Soraka was locked into the support role for this game.
The moment the draft results appeared on screen, the live chat exploded with excitement as if it were Chinese New Year.
"Holy cow! My boy ShaQiMa actually knows how to play support?"
"Doesn't iG always run double junglers or double top laners? Is this support role some kind of hidden class?"
"As everyone knows, iG's support player can play any position except support."
"ShaQiMa is styling on the viewers again, isn't he? I actually bet on the top lane kill odds! Damn it!"
"After watching ShaQiMa play all those other lanes for so long, suddenly seeing him on support completely breaks my brain. It's like seeing the teachers from adolescent education classes suddenly putting clothes on and failing to recognize them."
"Alright, I'll write you an IOU. If I steal one minion from you, I'll pay you back ten cs."
Even the female referee standing behind them looked completely bewildered.
In the FPX voice comms, the bot lane duo was still shouting.
"Did that guy ShaQiMa start trolling right from the start?! Buying a Dark Seal is just too... confident, right?" After pausing for a moment, Jiejie smoothed things over.
"No... it's a trap, be careful. This is our last chance." To be safe, Lwx focused on calmly pushing the wave to hit level two.
"You write me an IOU!!!" Wink refused to believe it for a second.
Fortunately, at least it was a Soraka.
You can style on the casters, style on your opponents, style on your teammates, and style on the audience.
As his voice trailed off, Lwx looked up in the direction Liu Qingsong pointed.
He wasn't willing to leave even a single bullet for the Soraka.
Then, Cheng Xian uttered the second sentence that Wink would remember for the rest of his life.
"Alright! The game has entered the loading screen, and today's match is Game 3 between iG and FPX! iG just needs one more win to successfully advance! Let's take a look at both team compositions. FPX is on the blue side, picking Jayce for the top lane, choosing Spider for the jungle, drafting Lissandra in the mid lane for teamfight crowd control, and sticking with Caitlyn in the bot lane for early-game pressure, though they swapped Thresh for Rakan as the support."
Wink: "???"
Lwx: "..."
"What?"
Having gone through two games of battling him, they were terrified that this jerk Cheng Xian would pull off some other weird gimmick in Game 3.
And now, he had finally arrived.
To be honest, he was actually quite looking forward to facing Cheng Xian.
As Soraka took a step forward, both Caitlyn and Rakan treated her like a formidable enemy and took a step back.
It wasn't just the FPX bot lane that was confused.
Cheng Xian pondered for a moment and said, "S12, I guess."
"iG is on the red side. TheShy picks his signature ranged Lucian in the top lane to fight Jayce for early-game laning dominance. Gragas in the jungle, Orianna in the mid lane, and a Soraka supporting Kaisa in the bot lane."
My goodness, you can't even hide your desire to steal your teammate's minions, can you?
At least you used to try and trick me at first! Now you aren't even pretending anymore!
Men! Not a single one of them is any good!
"Huh? Oh oh, no no, I'm fine, just taking a stroll," Cheng Xian answered vaguely.
"Her mobility isn't as good as other enchanters, and her engage tools aren't as good as any current hard-engage support. Soraka's position is a bit awkward."
Instead of choosing a traditional support starting item, he reached out and grabbed a Dark Seal.
"Brother Xian... what do you mean by this..." The moment he saw Soraka's starting items, Wink's face turned green and his lips trembled.
No matter how you spin it, you only have two damage-dealing abilities.
"Look at this guy, I just noticed, he's actually running Flash and Teleport on a Soraka..." Miller laughed in amusement. "Why does this guy have so many tricks up his sleeve? Teleport Soraka support, what is he trying to do this time?"
The enemy Soraka looked like a terminally ill patient who hadn't played the game in eight hundred years, wandering far away from her own AD carry and pacing back and forth right inside the minion wave of FPX.
Lwx pressed Tab to scan Cheng Xian's items, and his expression instantly darkened.
"Why is this jungler coming down to gank at level 2?! I'm not Uzi, dammit!"
After taking a couple of heavy blows from the tower turret, the fragile level-one little Soraka saw her health bar plummet to nearly 1/5.
Yet his vision suddenly sharpened, his mind grew light and clear, and his fingers felt as nimble as if he had been playing the piano for eighteen years.
After much deliberation, Cheng Xian made a decision that perfectly matched his tier's mindset.
His entire face practically read: 'Come hit me already! I'm feeding like this and you still aren't going to hit me?'
Liu Qingsong: "..."
Compared to the chat's banter, the caster desk held a certain degree of skepticism.
And she was a support-role Soraka.
"If you covered up his ID, I'd honestly believe he was Iron tier..."
He inquired through the headset: "Player ShaQiMa, may I ask if your mouse is malfunctioning? If you need assistance, we can pause the match to check your equipment."
"Wink, you just focus on farming, I'll go get hit by the tower a couple of times and come right back."
"Get lost!!!"
"Wait, Lin Weixiang, did you notice something?" Liu Qingsong said suddenly.
However, what made the casters' expressions stall slightly was... Soraka's starting items.
"Picking a champion like Soraka... is just too anti-meta."
In the previous two games, they had seen a jungle Sion and a top lane Twisted Fate.
Before Wink could even reply, Cheng Xian was already controlling Soraka and marching forward in big strides.
But once you looked at the ID, ShaQiMa's previous performances spoke for themselves.
"When does it take effect?"
"..." The female referee wore an expression of complete speechlessness.
The champions of both teams stepped over the fountain's acceleration buff, rushed out of the base, and scattered to set up vision wards.
"Wait... why do I feel like we're overestimating this jerk a bit... I honestly have no idea what he's playing..."
With his current state, the lower his health dropped, the higher his operational ceiling became.
"This guy... doesn't he really view us as professional players? Why does it feel like playing in an Iron tier lobby, this build path..."
Isn't this asking to get beaten...
The opening moments were calm and peaceful, allowing the members of FPX to breathe a slight sigh of relief.
"In Game 3, can ShaQiMa's luck and strength continue? Can FPX achieve their own redemption in adversity, rising like a phoenix from the ashes? Let's hand the camera over to the director!"
"Damn, damn, damn! This Soraka dares to play like this, their jungler must be coming! Fall back, fall back!"
No matter how you looked at it, this behavior resembled a low-tier reckless player. No matter what champion they picked, they would just charge blindly at you to trade a combo. If you had more health than them, they would run away; if they had more health than you, they would mess with you!
Even the caster desk was left dumbfounded.
As a registered professional support player, why are you obsessed with all these flashy, unorthodox tricks every single day?
Can't you just face me in a head-on fight?
Isn't being at full health a sign of brain damage...
"What is ShaQiMa doing? I've been casting this game for eight years, why can't I understand his plays..." Miller stared in confusion at Cheng Xian, who had walked away from his AD carry and was charging straight at the faces of the two FPX players.
You're even styling on the referee!
"But when you look at a champion, you have to look at their ID along with it, you know," Jiejie teased.
If any other player walked out of the base with a Dark Seal and two health potions, their family tree probably wouldn't survive the live chat.
"Wink, you can rest assured, I won't steal your minions," Cheng Xian said with absolute certainty.
"Good brother, we can fight now! My condition is fantastic!"
What on earth are you talking about?!!
Then, Lwx and Liu Qingsong watched in utter bewilderment as Soraka rushed right under their tower, positioned herself at the very edge of the tower's attack range, took two shots from the turret, saw her health bar instantly drop to absolute zero, and then turned around and sprinted away.
"This Soraka's movement... why is it so weird?"
Then, Wink heard a sentence in the team comms that he would never forget for the rest of his life.
No matter how strong your personal skill is, you're still just a support.
At that very moment, however, a scene that shocked the entire arena unfolded.
Soraka marched back to the lane with an arrogant swagger.
The rest of iG burst into laughter, filling the team comms with a joyful atmosphere.
"Brothers, let's play well this game. Their composition is worse than ours, and that jerk ShaQiMa is playing Soraka this game, so the threat isn't big," Lwx instructed in the team comms, hitting the red buff twice to help his jungler before marching straight to the lane with his gun in hand.
As the game camera shifted.
Now it was Cheng Xian's turn to feel anxious.
Right now, however, Cheng Xian distinctly felt that his entire state of being had transformed.
Wink looked in blank confusion at the full health bars of the enemy bot lane duo.
Then he looked at the Soraka's remaining 1/5 health bar.
And then he fell into deep contemplation.
Is my education level just not high enough?
Why on earth did I fail to understand the phrase 'my condition is fantastic'?
