"What goodie? It couldn't be another flower, could it?" Luo Li felt a mixture of anticipation and dread, terrified of being played for a fool by Hen Queqian once again—just like that time with the ice plums, only for them to turn out to be a bunch of squashed, ugly, muddy things.

"No, absolutely not! It's a song..." Hen Queqian said with a cheeky grin. Hearing this, Luo Li immediately pouted her lips. Why wasn't it ice plum shaved ice? Why was it this again? What a total foodie!

"It's a wildly popular song, passed down for a millennium, that everyone loves! And it's tailor-made, absolutely tailor-made just for you!" Seeing Luo Li's expression shift, Hen Queqian quickly added.

A blush crept onto Luo Li's cheeks. Tailor-made? Wasn't that praising her as delicate and tender as a flower? Praising her beauty? Praising her heaven-defying talent? Her beautiful eyes flickered, sparkling as she looked at Hen Queqian.

Though still a bit reserved, she was more than happy to indulge, so she nodded at Hen Queqian. "Fine then, go ahead and sing!"

Hen Queqian grinned widely, handing the box he had been carrying on his back over to Hen Ruochen. With a leap, he landed right on the central table in the middle of the hall, pulled out a flower, and stripped off its petals and leaves.

Just as he picked up a twig and was about to tap on the table to start singing, he realized something was amiss. He hurriedly grabbed the First Elder, who was smiling good-naturedly, and pulled him to stand right beside him. The other members of the Hen family watched Hen Queqian's pretentious and grandstanding behavior, dying for him to mess up.

They all stood to the side, waiting to make a laughingstock out of him.

With everything prepared, Hen Queqian finally took the twig and began tapping rhythmically against the center of the table: "Dum-dum-dum-dum-dum... I went down the mountain to fetch water, and my master gave me strict instructions: women down the mountain are fierce tigers, when you meet them you must run away..."

Thinking the song wasn't provocative enough, Hen Queqian even reached out while singing and tapped Luo Li right on the head! Swish—Luo Li's face darkened instantly, her nose flaring so hard one could practically see two wisps of white smoke puffing out.

Seeing this, Hen Queqian dropped the twig in his hand and scrambled straight behind the First Elder for cover!

Luo Li let out a furious roar: "Hen Queqian, even if it costs me my life, I'm going to fight you to the death..." With that, she charged forward. However, since Hen Queqian was already hiding behind the First Elder, Luo Li's petite frame slammed squarely into the First Elder's chest.

The First Elder took the full force of the collision and nearly had the wind knocked out of him. Clutching his chest, a look of agony crossed his face. Only now did the First Elder realize that this treacherous scoundrel Hen Queqian had pulled him out simply to make him suffer.

However, the First Elder's realization came much too late. And his misery didn't end there. As he stood there groaning in pain, Luo Li acted as though she didn't even see him, finding him merely an obstruction. She shoved the First Elder rudely to the side.

Hen Queqian had already bolted, and Luo Li gave chase, screaming at the top of her lungs, "Hen Queqian, you heartless bastard, stop right there! I promise I won't beat you to death!"

Are you kidding? Could anyone possibly believe those words? Even if it didn't kill you, it would leave you half-crippled, which was far worse than death! Hen Queqian scurried out of the main hall in a flash.

Yet no matter how fast Hen Queqian slipped away, Luo Li was, after all, a three-star martial master. It didn't take long for her to catch up to him. Soon, shrill, miserable screams echoed from the hall.

"Stop hitting me, stop hitting me, I really know I was wrong... Ouch, not the face, this is how I make my living! Ouch, why are you hitting *that* place, it hurts like hell..."
