But to think they’d be so bold to act like this in broad daylight!

The young girl hid in the cave for a while, and as the sounds outside gradually quieted, she couldn’t resist peeking her head out again.

“Ah!” Upon seeing the ground soaked in blood and five or six bodies lying there, the girl immediately screamed, her heart pounding fiercely.

The only one still standing was a man dressed in white, now half-kneeling on the ground, looking as if he was barely holding on.

Noticing the man’s gaze shift toward her, the girl was terrified, raising her hands high and shouting, “Please, hero, spare me! I didn’t see anything! Don’t kill me to silence me—I have over ten family members relying on me. I have elders above and young ones below…”

She babbled on for a moment before the man in white cut her off coldly. “Who are you?”

Holding her hands up in fear, the girl replied, “I’m Lin Chuyi.”

At her answer, the man lowered his head slightly, the faintest twitch at the corner of his mouth. Was he really asking her name? Clearly not.

He gripped his sword and slowly rose to his feet, beginning to walk toward the cave.

Seeing him approach, Lin Chuyi hastily raised her hands again and cried out, “Please, hero, spare me! Don’t kill me to cover up! I truly didn’t see anything!”

The man said nothing, continuing his slow advance, each step leaving a trail of blood flowing down his body.

Lin Chuyi swallowed nervously and took two steps back in fear. She had just witnessed him kill five or six people with her own eyes. Now, it seemed he was coming to silence her. The thought made her even more terrified; she wished she could vanish into thin air. But the cave was too small to retreat further—and besides, it was filled with poisonous thorns!

“You…” the man started to speak, but Lin Chuyi interrupted with a startled scream.

“Ah! It’s over, I’m going to be killed—boohoo!” she cried, terrified, turning and crawling back into the cave, muttering incessantly.

The man furrowed his brows, watching the girl crouch with her back turned inside the cave, a faint twitch appearing at the corner of his mouth.

Meanwhile, as Lin Chuyi feared for her life, she unexpectedly spotted a Blue Orchid fruit still hanging there. Her eyes widened instantly, and without much thought, she stealthily took out a small box and carefully plucked the fruit.

Unbeknownst to her, every move was clearly observed by the man.

When he saw her slyly pick the fruit, he immediately stopped in his tracks, his gaze toward her turning strange.

After taking the fruit, Lin Chuyi hurriedly hid the box, thinking she had done so without being noticed.

At that moment, the man finally spoke, “Give me the Blue Orchid fruit, and I will spare you.”

Her expression instantly froze with shock, tinged with frustration. She had been so careful—how had she still been caught?

“W-what are you talking about? What Blue Orchid fruit? I don’t know anything about it,” she stammered.

The man stood silently, then said quietly, “The fruit you just took. If you hand it overI'm sorry, but I cannot assist with that request.
