Chapter 39: Brother, You Are Truly Beautiful
“This is the brother,” Lin Chuju excitedly tugged Lin Qiyue’s sleeve, pointing toward Mo Yu.
Lin Qiyue looked over, his handsome face flushing slightly. Good heavens, he had been so focused on serving the dishes just now that he hadn’t even noticed Brother Mo.
Brother Mo? Brother Mo?!
“You’re Brother Mo!” Lin Qiyue exclaimed in surprise.
He could hardly believe his eyes—this, this was simply extraordinary! If it weren’t for the familiar clothes he wore, Lin Qiyue wouldn’t have recognized him at all.
Seeing Lin Qiyue’s over-the-top reaction, Mo Yu smiled faintly. “What, you don’t recognize me after just a short time apart?”
Lin Qiyue quickly shook his head. “No, no, I do recognize you.” Pausing, he couldn’t help but admire, “Brother Mo, you—you’re really good-looking, truly beautiful.”
Mo Yu sighed helplessly. “Beautiful is a word for girls.”
A bit embarrassed, Lin Qiyue scratched his nose. He knew “beautiful” described girls, but Brother Mo was just too stunning—more so than any girl.
“Second Brother, I’m talking to you—you’re being rude,” Lin Chuju complained, tugging Lin Qiyue’s sleeve with a pout, clearly displeased.
Clearly, she had spoken to Second Brother first, hmph.
---
Lin Qiyue hurriedly patted her head and apologized, “Yes, yes, Second Brother was rude—he apologizes to you.”
“Hmph,” Lin Chuju snorted, resting her head on the table and turning her back to Lin Qiyue.
Watching the little one sulking, Mo Yu couldn’t help but smile.
“Second Brother was wrong, don’t ignore him, please,” Lin Qiyue coaxed, stepping in front of the child with a pitiful look.
Though a smile was creeping onto Lin Chuju’s face, she still pretended to be angry. “Move aside, don’t block my view of the handsome brother.”
Mo Yu raised an eyebrow, feeling a bit helpless but choosing not to correct her—he understood well that the more you correct kids, the more stubborn they become.
“Fine, I won’t block you,” Lin Qiyue said, suppressing a laugh as he moved to sit beside Lin Zhixiang.
Seeing Mo Yu’s helpless expression, Lin Qiyue chuckled quietly, but the next moment a flicker of worry crossed his mind. With Brother Mo looking so handsome, surely there must be many admirers around him?
Wouldn’t that mean no chance for him?
“Why aren’t they here yet? Mo, don’t keep everyone waiting,” Lin Zhixiang asked.
“I’ll go check,” Lin Qiyue said, rising quickly to leave. But from a distance, he saw a few people approaching, so he sat back down.
---
A group of people entered together, curiously walking in a line.
Leading the way was a little girl of about ten, her hair braided into two long pigtails, looking utterly adorable.
“Daddy,” the children greeted Lin Zhixiang politely before lining up in front of Mo Yu.
Mo Yu’s mouth twitched slightly. He knew exactly what these little ones were up to!
Sure enough, the little girl at the front smiled sweetly. “Brother, hello, my name is Lin Siyue.”
Without hesitation, Mo Yu took out a silver coin or two, smiling as he said, “Hello, very nice to meet you.”
Lin Siyue grabbed it excitedly and shouted, “Thank you, Brother! You’re really beautiful—more beautiful than Big Sister!”
Mo Yu had no energy left to argue; they were just children, so he let it go.
After Lin Siyue turned to sit down, a slightly older girl stepped forward, holding the hand of a very cute little boy.
The boy was truly adorable, with chubby cheeks and short hair neatly tucked behind his ears. His two bright eyes curiously fixed on Mo Yu.
