After treating most of Mo Yu’s wounds, Lin Qiyue turned and sat beside Lin Chuyi. The two of them looked at Mo Yu, wrapped up like a dumpling, and instinctively edged a little farther away from him.

On a night like this, his appearance was truly rather frightening.

“You…” Mo Yu opened his mouth, but suddenly found himself at a loss for words.

From their expressions, he could already tell that the two of them were afraid of him. This person must be her husband, he supposed.

After thinking for a moment, Mo Yu rearranged his words and asked, “How should I address you?”

They were both stunned for a moment, but quickly understood. Mo Yu already knew Lin Chuyi’s name, so he was clearly asking for Lin Qiyue’s.

“Lin Qiyue.”

“Mo Yu.” Mo Yu nodded.

After that brief exchange, the group fell silent once more. The cave became quiet, and in the end, Lin Chuyi could no longer stand it.

“Um… why haven’t your subordinates come looking for you yet? It’s already very late.”

A flicker of amusement passed through the depths of Mo Yu’s eyes. He already knew that these two were exceptionally kindhearted people. He had merely threatened them on a whim.

But he had no intention of telling them that now.

“I ordered them to return and report.”

“Then why didn’t they take you with them?” Lin Chuyi blurted out in confusion.

Lin Qiyue hurriedly covered her mouth. He glanced at Mo Yu, and only after seeing that his expression had not changed did he finally relax.

Seeing that Lin Chuyi still looked puzzled, Lin Qiyue explained with exasperation, “Are you stupid? He must have used some kind of signal to notify his subordinates.”

Lin Chuyi immediately nodded in understanding. “But isn’t he afraid that we’ll kill him to silence him?”

Lin Qiyue nearly rolled his eyes. “Idiot. He was on the verge of death just now, and you still didn’t kill him to silence him. Besides, do you even dare kill someone?”

At that, Lin Chuyi drew in her neck. Did she dare kill someone? Of course she didn’t.

The siblings whispered to each other, believing that they were speaking quietly. They had no idea that Mo Yu heard every word.

The corners of Mo Yu’s lips lifted into the faintest of smiles. It seemed that these two were rather adorable.

Cluck-cluck-cluck…

The crowing of a rooster suddenly rang out. Lin Chuyi stared blankly ahead and muttered to herself, “Could it already be dawn?”

Lin Qiyue was sitting right beside her. Hearing this, he immediately stood up in speechless exasperation. The rooster was one he had caught himself, intending to roast it for Mo Yu to help restore his strength.

“Where are you going?” The moment Lin Qiyue rose, Lin Chuyi nervously seized his hand. She still had lingering fears after Mo Yu had grabbed her ankle earlier, terrified that she might encounter some other unclean thing.

“I’m going to bring the rooster over and roast it.”

Lin Chuyi reluctantly released his arm, but her eyes remained fixed on his back. If anything happened, she could rush to his side at once.

“You love your husband very much.”

Mo Yu was lying on the other side when he suddenly spoke.

Yet after saying those words, even he was somewhat surprised. They had simply slipped out.

Perhaps, seeing how frightened she was, he had unconsciously wanted to find something to distract her attention.

But when Lin Chuyi heard Mo Yu’s words, she was completely bewildered.

Her husband? Who was her husband?

She felt as though her mind had suddenly stopped working. When had she ever had a husband…
