Chapter 46: The Best Actor's Black-Hearted Vixen
Song Heqing’s words sounded exceptionally sweet to Su Tang’s ears. At this very moment, she felt as though her entire being had been drenched in honey.
Fearing that the cooking fumes in the kitchen might bother Su Tang, Song Heqing had shooed her outside, even though the range hood was already turned on.
Looking at the renowned Best Actor wearing a banquet gown while wearing an apron to cook for her, Su Tang felt a profound sense of satisfaction welling up in her heart.
Song Heqing’s movements were swift and deft, and soon, three dishes and a soup were ready.
Song Heqing slowly brought out the dishes one by one. Seeing this, Su Tang hurried over to help, but in the end, Song Heqing only allowed her to carry out her own rice bowl.
Seated at the table, Su Tang leaned forward and took a deep, appreciative sniff. "It smells so good!"
Before Song Heqing even had time to take off his apron, he sat down right beside Su Tang. Hearing her remark, he smiled with doting affection. "If you like it, eat a lot."
With that, Song Heqing reached out as if to ruffle Su Tang’s hair, but remembering that he hadn't washed his hands yet, he halted his movement.
Su Tang instantly grasped his intention. Before he could retract his hand, she leaned her head forward and rubbed it against his palm.
Feeling the soft friction against his palm, Song Heqing chuckled.
His hand slid down from the top of Su Tang’s head, eventually cupping her chin, and he planted a kiss on her lips.
Just as Su Tang closed her eyes, Song Heqing pulled away.
Su Tang pouted slightly, looking at Song Heqing with a dissatisfied expression.
Song Heqing couldn't help but laugh. He knew perfectly well why she was upset, but he still teased deliberately, "What's wrong?"
The tips of Su Tang’s ears turned slightly red. "You... the kiss this time was way, way too short..." She raised her head with a blush to accuse him. "It wasn't even a second!"
As she spoke, Su Tang even held up a single finger right in front of Song Heqing's eyes.
Song Heqing raised an eyebrow, his eyes dancing with playful amusement. "If you call me hubby..."
Before he could finish his sentence, Su Tang replied promptly and crisply, "Hubby!"
That crisp, sweet address caught Song Heqing off guard for a moment. Then, he reached out, grasped the finger she was holding up, and intertwined his fingers with hers.
He leaned slightly closer to Su Tang until the tip of his nose touched hers.
At that moment, however, Su Tang suddenly retreated a little. Resting her forehead against his, she smiled brightly at him. "If you call me wifey, I'll give you a kiss~"
Su Tang had no idea how adorable she looked at that moment, but Song Heqing knew. He let out a low chuckle, his lips parting slightly as he spoke slowly and earnestly, "Wifey."
Su Tang pressed a hand over her chest, looking at Song Heqing with sparkling eyes.
Song Heqing smiled back at her, gently rubbing his forehead against hers a few times before asking, "Wifey, can I kiss you now?"
Su Tang nodded repeatedly, bobbing her head like a pounding mortar. "Yes! Yes!!"
With a smile, Song Heqing leaned forward and successfully captured Su Tang's lips.
Su Tang tightly closed her eyes.
The two shared a genuine, passionate French kiss, and it wasn't until a while later that Song Heqing finally released her.
If he hadn't been worried that the food would get cold and lose its flavor, he might not have let go of Su Tang so soon.
Flushed and breathless, Su Tang sat there catching her breath, and only after a long moment did she look up at Song Heqing with shy eyes.
Song Heqing was already serving food onto Su Tang’s plate. At this point, he wasn't nearly as brazen as before. "Wifey, eat up. It's going to get cold if you don't."
"Oh, oh, oh." Hearing this, Su Tang hurriedly picked up her chopsticks.
After finishing the meal, Su Tang idly browsed through her phone.
Originally, she had intended to rest a bit after eating and then return to the banquet, but Song Heqing told her there was no need.
Anyway, a couple of people more or less wouldn't make any difference at the banquet, so thinking along those lines, Su Tang didn't insist.
Right now, Su Tang was lounging on the sofa with her legs crossed, when she accidentally caught sight of Song Heqing’s phone lying nearby.
She looked over at Song Heqing, who was playing the role of a domestic-god husband washing dishes in the kitchen. After a moment of hesitation, she asked, "Brother Song, can I look at your phone?"
To her surprise, Song Heqing shook his head without a moment's hesitation and flatly refused. "No."
Su Tang froze, then looked at him with an injured expression.
Song Heqing turned around, flashed a mischievous smile, and said, "If you call me hubby, I might consider letting you take a look."
Startled, Su Tang hadn't expected Song Heqing to learn how to flirt as well. Her eyes curved into crescents as she sweetly called out, "Hubby!"
Song Heqing immediately recited his phone's passcode.
Finally, Su Tang successfully unlocked Song Heqing’s phone.
She had no intention of prying too deeply; although Song Heqing had given his implicit consent, she still wanted to respect his privacy.
She opened his WeChat and scanned through it briefly. Seeing no random women messaging him, she breathed a sigh of relief, figuring that Song Heqing simply didn't add strangers casually.
Stealing a glance toward the kitchen and seeing that he was still busy, she opened her own chat thread with him.
She tapped on her own profile picture to change her nickname, and then checked his contacts list to update her display name there as well.
Having accomplished this, she giggled mischievously, put the phone back where it was, and went back to scrolling through short videos.
Having finished washing the dishes, Song Heqing took off his apron in the kitchen and walked out.
As he stepped out, he noticed that Su Tang had been watching him the whole time.
Song Heqing smiled. "What are you looking at?"
Su Tang lifted her chin, locking eyes with him. "Watching my domestic-god hubby turn back into my Best Actor hubby~"
Unable to resist the urge, Song Heqing quickened his pace, walked over, and gently ruffled her hair.
Then, he glanced up at the clock on the wall. "It's getting late. Shall I drive you back?"
The banquet had started at eight o'clock in the evening, and after dawdling around, it was now already eleven.
Su Tang stood up and wrapped her arms around Song Heqing’s waist. "What should I do? I don't want to leave you."
Song Heqing lowered his head slightly and pressed a gentle kiss to her forehead. "I don't want to leave you either."
Su Tang pouted as she looked at him; she couldn't very well invite him to spend the night at her place.
In the end, the two of them tidied up and headed toward the underground parking garage.
Song Heqing walked Su Tang to the doorway, and before the door was even opened, he switched off the lights.
Caught off guard while lost in thought, Su Tang gasped and instinctively gripped Song Heqing’s hand tighter. "What's wrong?"
"Nothing, I turned them off," Song Heqing soothed.
Su Tang let out a breath of relief, but her intuition told her that the atmosphere between them was no longer quite right—the surrounding air was thick with a subtle sense of danger.
Su Tang's intuition was spot on, because the very next second, Song Heqing pinned her against the wall.
"Brother Song?" Su Tang called out cautiously. In the pitch-black darkness, she couldn't see his expression, which left her feeling utterly defenseless.
