“Actually, Shen Lu has a point. When you’ve done something wrong, you should admit it. It’s nothing serious, and there’s no need to feel wronged,” Song Heqing said calmly.
Su Tang was immensely pleased by those words. As expected, Song Heqing was still clear-headed; he would never be bewitched by a woman like Wen Tian.
Sure enough, Wen Tian’s expression stiffened. She had not expected Song Heqing to offer her no comfort at all in front of the cameras.
As she thought this, tears began to fall.
She lowered her head miserably and murmured, “Yes. I understand. It’s all my fault.”
Everyone was helpless. If it wasn’t her fault, whose was it supposed to be?
Still, in a situation like this, they naturally had to step forward and comfort her—especially Chang Qinghua and Su Tang.
The two of them consoled Wen Tian for quite some time before she finally began to recover.
Su Tang glanced at the fields. “It’s getting late. Let’s hurry up and get back to work.”
Wen Tian, who had just finished crying for ages only to be told to work, was left speechless.
She looked up at Shen Lu and Song Heqing and, sure enough, saw them standing off to the side without continuing their work.
After working all morning, everyone was exhausted when they returned to the courtyard. Yet in the entire morning, they had managed to cultivate only two plots of land.
The weather made things even worse, and everyone was drenched in sweat.
Wen Tian’s makeup had run as well, and the first thing she did upon returning home was head to her room to touch it up.
Shen Lu was thoroughly irritated with her. “The moment she gets home, she goes straight to her room. But when it’s time to work, she drags her feet.”
Shen Lu seemed to be the one with the greatest grievance against Wen Tian, but the others were more or less displeased with her too.
There were quite a few complaints in the live-stream comments as well. However, Wen Tian’s fans were so eager to defend her that she saw only the more favorable remarks.
That afternoon, Song Heqing gave Wen Tian no chance to slack off. He assigned everyone a specific amount of work.
With such arrangements, there was no point in shirking, since no one else would help her.
Over the next few days, they occasionally went up the mountain to hunt, but the difficulty kept increasing.
As a result, they could only go to the mudflats more often.
Although the show was broadcast live, the camera work was sometimes poorly edited, so everyone also watched the later recorded version.
A recorded episode was released once a week.
Although watching the recordings made it feel as if a great deal of time had passed, the actual filming went by very quickly.

To be honest, Su Tang had plenty of opportunities to be around Song Heqing while they were on the show. Once filming ended, however, she had no idea where she would find him.
But no matter how much Su Tang wished time would slow down, the final episode of the show eventually arrived.
Everyone got up early that day, including Wen Tian.
While eating, they talked about what they had gained from the program and expressed how reluctant they were to part from one another.
Afterward, they exchanged their remaining points for soda and ice cream.
Song Heqing handed his cola to Su Tang. “You seem to like cola. You can have it. I don’t like carbonated drinks.”
Su Tang paused briefly, then immediately accepted the cola.
She looked up at Song Heqing with shining eyes and asked with a smile, “Brother Song, will you miss me after the show ends?”
As she spoke, Su Tang activated her charm technique once more. Yet it seemed to have no effect on Song Heqing, and she was somewhat disappointed.
This time, Song Heqing did not hold back. Feeling his heart pounding, he reached out and gently patted Su Tang on the head. “Of course I will. But I’ll miss everyone else too.”
Su Tang did not particularly like the second half of his reply, but she was still quite happy to hear the first part.
Wen Tian approached with her phone. “Brother Song, it’s the final episode. Shall we take a picture together?”
Song Heqing nodded. “Why don’t we take a group photo instead and have the production crew take it for us?”
“Good idea. Come on, let’s go discuss it with the crew.” Chang Qinghua agreed and headed toward the production team.
Song Heqing ignored Wen Tian beside him and followed Chang Qinghua toward the crew as well.
Wen Tian could only stamp her foot angrily.
Su Tang walked over to her and said in a voice only the two of them could hear, “Looks like Brother Song doesn’t want to take a picture alone with you.”
During the show, Wen Tian had grown increasingly irritated with Su Tang. She gave Su Tang a mocking look. “So what? Brother Song doesn’t take pictures with you either. But let me advise you not to keep clinging to him.”
“What if I insist on clinging to him?” Su Tang replied softly without looking at Wen Tian, her gaze fixed on Song Heqing.
“Do you really think you can be with Brother Song? Don’t forget all the things you did in the past. His fans will never accept you.” Wen Tian was quite confident about that.
Besides, she knew that Su Tang had often been spending time with Song Heqing on the show. Once the program aired, Su Tang would certainly be cursed by Song Heqing’s fans and become a trending topic.
All Wen Tian had to do was wait for the right opportunity and release a few press pieces, just as she had before.
“Is that so?” Su Tang stretched lazily. “Then let’s wait and see what happens.”
Seeing how utterly unconcerned Su Tang looked, Wen Tian nearly became ill from rage.

When everyone took the group photo, the girls would naturally stand in the middle.
Wen Tian naturally wanted to stand beside Song Heqing. The photo had not even begun, yet she was already calling out to him.
“Brother Song, Brother Song, will you stand beside me later?”
Song Heqing was adjusting the camera for the production crew. “Sure. Everyone stand in place first so I can check the positioning.”
At his words, Wen Tian hurriedly took her place with a delighted smile. Su Tang, meanwhile, cast Song Heqing a slightly aggrieved glance.
If she had known he would agree so readily, she would have asked him herself.
Shen Lu had always made his dislike of Wen Tian perfectly obvious, so he certainly would not stand beside her.
Chang Qinghua was helpless. He had spent nearly the entire show being dragged along by Wen Tian, and in the end, he still had to stand next to her.
Wen Tian shifted farther away from him. “Make room for Brother Song.”
Chang Qinghua’s smile froze, and he gave two awkward laughs.
Song Heqing waved his hand at that. “It’s fine. I’ll stand behind all of you later.”
Only then did Wen Tian return to her place.
Shen Lu stood beside Su Tang with an expression of utter speechlessness.
Su Tang nudged him with her elbow. “Try to look a little happier. Anyone who doesn’t know better will think you’re unhappy to be taking a picture with me.”
Shen Lu lowered his head and spoke to her quietly. “What are you talking about? You know perfectly well who I’m disgusted by.”
“I know,” Su Tang whispered back, “but some people might not. Come on, hurry up and stop scowling.”
Shen Lu was just about to say something when Song Heqing, who had been adjusting the camera in front of them, spoke up.
“All right, everyone, don’t move.”
Everyone took their places, and Shen Lu stopped scowling as well.
After finishing with the camera, Song Heqing handed it to a staff member and walked toward them. “All right, I’ll count to three and take the picture. Everyone get ready.”
Su Tang kept her eyes on Song Heqing, wanting to see which side he would stand on.
