After Wen Tian finished speaking, Su Tang directly launched a pebble in that direction.

With a sharp, agonized squawk, they saw something thrash wildly in the previously calm grass before falling silent.

Curious, Shen Lü stepped forward to investigate and returned holding a wild chicken.

Su Tang gestured to the basket on her back, signaling him to put it inside. After placing the bird in Su Tang’s basket, Shen Lü looked at her with a servile expression, his usual cold and aloof demeanor completely vanished.

“We all missed spotting that wild chicken. How did you see it?” Shen Lü asked.

Su Tang smiled kindly and gently patted Shen Lü’s head, “It’s a secret.”

How did she see it? Surely it was her instinct as a fox clan member.

Wearing a slightly proud expression, she glanced at Song Heqing, waiting for his praise.

Song Heqing sighed with a helpless smile, imitating Su Tang’s earlier gesture, he patted her head, “Impressive.”

Su Tang blushed, shyly smiling, her eyes sparkling as she looked at Song Heqing. “Brother Song, do you want to learn? I can teach you. Step by step, I guarantee you’ll master it within three days.”

Though the familiar flutter of the heart didn’t arise, Song Heqing still felt an inexplicable warmth looking at Su Tang’s smile.

He took a slingshot from his own basket and agreed cheerfully, “Sure.”

Shen Lü hurriedly stepped forward, “What about me? I signed up first. And you have to teach me that trick you used before without the slingshot.”

Seeing this, Chang Qinghua quickly joined in, “Me too! I want to learn as well. Teach me, Little Su. I’ll buy you ice cream after we come down the mountain.”

Hearing their requests, Su Tang happily consented.

Standing off to the side, Wen Tian was nearly fuming. She stormed over to Su Tang, “Su Tang, couldn’t you have aimed more carefully? Do you know you almost hit me? And you told me not to move!”

Su Tang furrowed her brow slightly, tilting her head to look at Wen Tian, “Hmm? I was trying to look out for you. Besides, I didn’t actually hit you.” Her face showed genuine confusion.

This only made Wen Tian even angrier.

“What do you mean by that, Su Tang? Looking out for me means aiming the slingshot at me and telling me not to dodge? If you had actually hit me, I’d be in the hospital! You’re lucky this time, but if it happened, what then?” Wen Tian shouted furiously.

At this moment, all the surrounding cameras focused on them; after all, conflict scenes boosted viewer engagement.

Wen Tian grew smug, knowing she was in the right. With cameras trained on her, she launched into a tirade against Su Tang.

“If you wanted to show off your skill, fine. But you can’t deliberately use me like that. It’s a miracle nothing bad happened. What if it had? Did you want me to be your prop? Fine, just tell me beforehand, and I’d help. But suddenly doing that? Anyone would have a heart attack!”

After Wen Tian’s words, a heavy silence fell around them. She glanced at the others.

“What’s wrong? Why is no one speaking? Are you all going to protect her?” she challenged.

“Enough!” Song Heqing shouted, coldly staring at Wen Tian. “Wen Tian, you need to understand the situation before speaking.”

Wen Tian smiled slyly. “Are you covering for her? Brother Song, do you think I don’t understand the situation? You can ask those around us who truly doesn’t understand it.”

Shen Lü clicked his tongue, then turned to the production crew, “Where did you even find these people? Can’t you get someone more reasonable?”

Chang Qinghua, unable to stand it any longer, stepped forward with a friendly smile to smooth things over. “Xiao Wen, maybe you were just flustered and didn’t see clearly. Even though Xiao Su told you to stay put, the pebble was actually thrown far away from you.”

Wen Tian hesitated hearing Chang Qinghua’s words, but she still insisted, “No, Brother Chang, Su Tang did it on purpose.”

She looked around for support, seeking confirmation from the others and the crew, but everyone remained silent.

Only when she caught sight of her scowling manager outside did Wen Tian start to panic. She stammered, glancing at the camera, then back at Chang Qinghua. “No, no, it was definitely Su Tang…”

Su Tang looked bewildered, glancing at Wen Tian. “Tian Tian, you…” She didn’t say more, but everyone understood.

“She told you not to move to keep you from stepping forward and getting hit. How did that turn into something else in your mouth?” Shen Lü said sarcastically.

Wen Tian was utterly dumbfounded. Seeing everyone’s complicated expressions directed at her, she grew more uneasy. Then she remembered this was a live broadcast.

Her anxiety intensified. She had indeed been too nervous. She saw Su Tang aiming the slingshot in their direction but wasn’t sure if it was aimed at her specifically.

She had intended to use this incident to discredit Su Tang, to ruin her reputation, so she hadn’t even paid attention to where the pebble went.

Watching Wen Tian stand there stunned, and Su Tang’s eyes redden from the angry shouting, Chang Qinghua sighed quietly.

He clapped his hands. “Alright, alright, it’s just a misunderstanding. Xiao Wen was just a bit distracted. Just apologize, and it’s fine.”

Wen Tian gritted her teeth and suddenly rushed to the camera. “I want to see the replay.”

Chang Qinghua’s expression turned awkward, but there was no stopping her now.

Everyone’s eyes followed Wen Tian, waiting to see how she would handle the situation.

After watching the footage, Wen Tian froze. After a moment, she turned to her manager, recalling what had been said to her.

Rigidly, she walked over to Su Tang with a remorseful face. “Sorry, Tang Tang, I just…”

“Your tone wasn’t like that earlier,” Shen Lü interrupted before she could finish.

Su Tang nudged Shen Lü and sniffled softly. “It’s okay. It’s partly my fault too. It’s not all on you.”

This response startled Wen Tian, but she realized now she had to take full responsibility and admit her mistake.

If Su Tang shared the blame or admitted fault, Wen Tian feared she would be criticized even more harshly.

She stepped forward, grasping Su Tang’s hand. “Tang Tang, you don’t have to defend me. I know it’s all my fault. I was just too impulsive. I apologize. Can you forgive me?”

Wen Tian looked at Su Tang pitifully. After a long moment, Su Tang finally nodded.

Wen Tian secretly breathed a sigh of relief and asked again, “So, can we still be good sisters?”
