Su Lie wore an expression of relief; finally, this daughter of his didn’t seem so unbearable. See? She’s working now. Who would dare say his daughter was lazy? Su Xiyue was unaware of Su Lie’s thoughts; if she knew, she would probably laugh to death—just washing an animal hide and calling it not lazy? She paid no mind to the beastmen’s expressions, which were as if they had seen a ghost. Instead, she focused solely on drying the hide.

By the time she finished, all the beastmen gathered in the square had transformed into their true forms. At a glance, there were wolves of every color imaginable. Some were pure white snow wolves, others as black as ink, and there were gray, brown, and mixed-color wolves. Their sizes varied—some large, some small—and their postures differed, but all exuded an imposing and fierce aura.

Su Xiyue gave a rough count and estimated there were at least a hundred wolves. Her father, Su Lie, had turned into a majestic gray giant wolf, noticeably larger than any other present. His eyes were sharp and icy, exuding an air that warned against provocation.

She swallowed nervously and subtly took two steps back to put some distance between herself and the giant wolf. Though she knew it was her father and he wouldn’t harm her, instinct still stirred fear. After all, this wolf looked terrifyingly fierce.

Once transformed, Su Lie’s gaze immediately locked onto her. When he saw her step back, a flicker of displeasure crossed his eyes. What was this? Fear? Did this bastard forget who gave birth to her?

He approached Ye Ling, his wolf jaws opening and closing as he spoke human words, “Ye Ling, Xiyue is yours now. Take her with you.” Without waiting for Ye Ling’s consent, Su Lie turned his head toward Su Xiyue, signaling clearly for her to climb onto Ye Ling’s back.

Su Xiyue twitched the corner of her mouth sharply—why did this feel like being pimped out?

The original owner had been extremely infatuated with Ye Ling, frequently using her father’s status to make Ye Ling do this and that, even having him carry and hold her. Ye Ling detested the original owner to the core and would have crushed her long ago if not for Su Lie.

Su Lie understood his daughter’s mindset. Though he was displeased and annoyed with this daughter, she was his bloodline, so naturally, he would do his utmost to help her.

Su Xiyue didn’t refuse her father’s goodwill and looked toward Ye Ling. She saw he had already taken his true form—a massive wolf with silver-white fur, twice the size of an ordinary wolf. His body stretched over two meters long and nearly a meter tall, covered in snow-like fur. His unique silver eyes were cold and sharp, yet strangely captivating. Standing there in the square, he looked imposing and majestic, radiating an overwhelming sense of dominance.

No wonder the original owner liked him so much.

She approached Ye Ling and, before he could react, quickly climbed onto his back and sat down. The wolf’s fur was incredibly soft and smooth to the touch, and sitting was stable; she had no fear of falling off.

Ye Ling’s body shuddered, and he glanced back at her with a sinister, violent glare. He couldn’t believe he had let this ugly female sit on him. Madness.

He wanted to shake her off but remembered it was the leader’s order and grudgingly endured it. Fine, he’d just treat her as a burden. Once they entered the forest, he’d throw her off somewhere.

Su Lie, seeing everyone ready, spoke with authority from the front, “Move out.” His words were in human speech.

With that, he leapt forward as a wolf, leading the pack at a tremendous speed, vanishing in the blink of an eye. Ye Ling quickly followed, moving swiftly on his powerful legs. The rest of the beastmen trailed behind.

Nearby, Mia watched the large group depart, her gaze fixed tightly on the disappearing figure of Su Xiyue, her eyes filled with hatred.

That ugly, lazy, wicked female had awakened a supernatural ability and was even taken by the leader for hunting. Now, she was sitting on Ye Ling’s back—how infuriating.

What right did she have? What right?

Mia clenched her silver teeth, nearly exploding with rage. Her hands hung at her sides, tightly balled into fists, her sharp nails digging deep into her flesh without causing pain. Her eyes darkened like a cold, venomous serpent, unblinkingly staring in the direction Su Xiyue had vanished.

Meanwhile, Su Xiyue sat on Ye Ling’s back, feeling the jolts from his running, yet she felt little fear. Instead, the sensation of galloping made her exhilarated and carefree. The world before her was bizarre and wondrous, everything so magical.

She gently stroked the wolf fur beneath her, marveling at how soft and smooth it was—far better than any blanket she had ever used—making it hard to part with.

Feeling the touch on his back, Ye Ling’s body shuddered again, almost shaking her off. He turned to glare at her with cold, violent silver eyes, warning her fiercely.

Su Xiyue’s mouth twitched painfully, speechless. This dog of a man—she had only touched his fur twice, was it really necessary to be so disgusting? And glare at her too?

She curled her lips but didn’t touch again, instead gripping the fur on his back tightly to avoid falling.

Seeing the ugly female on his back settle down without further mischief, Ye Ling’s cold, violent gaze softened.

Mo Lin transformed into a massive black python over ten meters long, his huge body and cold vertical pupils making him terrifying to behold. Watching the scene ahead, his eyes flickered with some unknown thought. Suddenly, he slithered over to Su Xiyue’s side.

Then, coiling upward, he wrapped around the wolf’s back, encircling her in the middle.

“Ah… help…” Su Xiyue screamed in fright, instinctively clutching Ye Ling’s neck. Her voice was loud and pressed tightly against Ye Ling’s back. The scream rang clearly into Ye Ling’s ears, making his wolf ears buzz.

His face darkened, fur bristled all over, and his eyes flashed with violent intent, almost unable to restrain himself from shaking her off.

Could this damned ugly female not behave herself just once?

Su Xiyue realized her mistake, feeling embarrassed as she was practically hanging on Ye Ling’s neck. She awkwardly loosened her grip and switched to holding the fur on his back, forcing a dry laugh, “Sorry, I didn’t mean to…”

Snakes were creatures she simply couldn’t appreciate, and she was inherently afraid of them—it wasn’t her fault.

Even Mo Lin was stunned by her reaction, a trace of confusion flickering in his vertical pupils. Was he really that frightening? Why hadn’t other females shown such fear before?

He stared at Su Xiyue for a long while, then twisted his body, shrinking slightly, and coiled around Ye Ling’s wolf body. He then poked out his snake head, his cold vertical pupils fixed on her, as if scrutinizing her.

Su Xiyue felt her scalp tingle and her whole body grow uncomfortable. She did her best to ignore that gaze.

Mo Lin’s true form was truly unsettling; she wondered when she’d get used to it.

Ye Ling, bothered by Mo Lin’s presence, couldn’t help but speak in a cold voice, “Mo Lin, let go at once.”

Why was this damned Mo Lin clinging to him? If it weren’t inconvenient right now, he would have struck the black snake hard.

Mo Lin ignored him, still coiled around Ye Ling’s wolf body, acting as if he didn’t exist, his cold pupils still fixed on Su Xiyue, seemingly curious why she was so afraid of him.

Seeing that Mo Lin was ignoring his command, Ye Ling’s wolf face darkened completely, fur bristled with a hint of rage ready to break out.

That damned stinking snake…
