Volume One, Chapter 30: Taming the Sacred Dragon Hatchling and Discovering the Golden Ore!
Witnessing the fierce battle between the two beasts, Lin Yi had originally intended to cast a spell and end the fight swiftly.
Yet after giving it some thought, he chose to stand by and watch. His reasons were self-evident.
First, he wanted to reduce the hostility the Holy Dragon hatchling felt toward him, making it easier to tame later.
Second, he wanted to use the opportunity to leave the giant crocodile Rewos severely wounded, then finish it off in one decisive strike.
After all, Lin Yi’s beast-taming art could bind only one pet.
If he broke his contract with Rewos later, there was no guarantee the creature would not turn around and bite him.
By now, Rewos was covered in wounds, its purple scales scattered across the ground.
Even so, the Holy Dragon hatchling had not gained an absolute advantage. Rewos continued to resist with astonishing tenacity.
However, this was precisely what Lin...
Ji Yuyou suddenly felt an ominous premonition in her heart. Somehow, she sensed that this would be anything but an easy task.
After some exchange, the three learned that Murong Yiyi and the others were experts on the Rising Stars Ranking. They were especially astonished when they heard that Murong Yiyi had reached the late stage of the Fifth Realm. They stood there dumbfounded, unable to believe their ears. Once they recovered, they were filled with shame.
He had thought he could withstand the golden lightning, but only when it struck his body did he realize how gravely mistaken he had been. The flesh on his left shoulder was blasted apart in an instant, exposing the stark white bone beneath.
By the time they reached that familiar yet unfamiliar village, the sky was already pitch-black, and the lights in every household had long since gone out.
As soon as his voice fell, the entire hall sank into deathly silence once more. The servant’s legs trembled uncontrollably.
In fact, Jin Yina had communicated with the studio several times already, and the design drafts had been revised countless times. During this period, she could often be seen discussing every sort of detail with Jiang Wan—even the material of an insignificant zipper had to be selected with the utmost care.
Twelve seconds was no more than the time it took to say a single sentence. Yet in that brief span, everyone discovered that the finest bicycle in the room had mysteriously vanished. Even the scooters had been reduced by half, to say nothing of the other valuable items.
When Ji Yuyou withdrew from the man’s embrace, her eyes were even redder, and her nose stung with emotion. She waved at him before entering the reception room reserved for private meetings.
Gong Cheng rolled his eyes. The shrewd man immediately leapt into the passenger seat and fastened his seat belt. He had no intention of experiencing that sensation of weightlessness.
Murong Yiyi gazed at the smile on Ling Xuan’s face, her expression deliberately calm. Although she showed nothing on the surface, her heart was so complicated that she could not even explain the reason.
“Damn, this update has so much new content!” Wang Tianxing said excitedly as he stared at the computer screen.
Rows of shops and buildings stood in orderly formation. Some were resplendent with gold and jade, some were adorned with carved beams and painted rafters, while others were simple and steeped in an old-fashioned charm. The streets were broad and crowded, filled with bustling streams of people entering and leaving the various shops.
“If he had not run, he might have lived a little longer. But he is sprinting all the way now. I’m afraid the poison has already spread to his internal organs!” the young warrior in black robes murmured.
Wan Xiaoru believed that, in Aunt Qiu’s room, Zhuzi had suffered constant exclusion. Naturally, no one would have grown particularly close to her. Thus, she must never have mentioned her grandmother’s grave illness to anyone else. As it turned out, everything was exactly as Wan Xiaoru had expected, without the slightest discrepancy.
“Get lost. I’ll say it one last time: you must give this place to us. You’ve farmed enough here anyway. Our Baxia Poison Dragon will be occupying it from now on,” the Baxia Poison Dragon declared domineeringly, looking utterly ferocious.
“Fortunately, none of us revealed ourselves. Even if that old man escaped, the Illusory Sword Sect would have no way to investigate the matter given their strength. It’s just a pity that Senior Brother Lu’s Flying Tiger Beast has barely revealed itself and already has to be kept hidden again.” After Mei Ruosu finished speaking, her eyes intentionally—or perhaps unintentionally—swept over the several black-robed figures.
“Disperse!” Liu Xing said with a curl of his lips. The lightning energy that had just gathered around Zeus vanished in an instant.
For all their serious expressions now, it was only because the three people standing before them were exceptionally beautiful.
Qin Zizi had never been able to let go of the person who had suddenly appeared and rescued them. She even suspected that the whole incident had been staged by him. Judging from his clothes, he seemed like a wealthy young master rather than an ordinary person. After returning, she had secretly asked her elder brother to investigate him, but they found nothing, and the matter eventually came to an end.
After drinking two cups of tea, her thirst was finally quenched. Zhuzi once again expressed her wish to withdraw, and this time Wan Xiaoru made no attempt to retain her. She merely nodded with a faint smile.
When Tao Ni stepped onto the stage, she deliberately moved a little closer to Lu Liting. Lu Liting was focused on walking forward and did not notice what she had done.
Every movement the man made radiated an imposing dominance. Even from a distance, one could feel a chill sweeping over them. This man was none other than Takayama Seiji, leader of the Yamaguchi-gumi.
Chen Fan was not exaggerating. Tianming’s cultivation had improved considerably since the last time they were at the Confucian Sect. His combat strength could absolutely reach the early stage of the Four Directions Realm, and there were even faint signs that he was on the verge of breaking through.
Zheng Kui had launched an invisible attack, nearly crushing all eight of Zheng Chen’s primordial souls. Zheng Chen was instantly shaken with fear. If he continued allowing Zheng Kui to hold him back like this, his eight primordial souls might well be crushed completely.
Qiao Mimi was already frantic beyond measure. How could she still care whether Lu Liting would be angry? Even so, she was reluctant to hurt Aunt Chang. After all, Aunt Chang had only been helping because Qiao Mimi had asked her to. Now that the child was missing, Qiao Mimi feared that Lu Liting would blame everything on Aunt Chang.
The group wore tense expressions, but Bayar, walking at the front, did not appear nervous in the slightest. With a cigarette clamped at an angle between his lips, he whistled carelessly. Every step he took was imbued with the swagger of a street thug.
Murong Qingran had to admit that this man’s martial skills surpassed Murong You’s. She desperately wanted to resist, to stop him, but it was as though she had been bewitched. She could not control herself, and could only watch helplessly as he removed his mask, exposing her completely before him.
“Junior Brother, it seems you’ve already forgotten everything we once said to each other?” Chen Fan, who had remained silent all this time, suddenly spoke.
Lianqiao retreated again and again, evidently frightened by Bai Suzhen. In the end, her lips moved, but she said nothing. With a long sigh, she turned and walked away.
“It’s fine. There’s nothing wrong with me anymore. Besides, it’s not as though I’ll be walking out to find someone. What’s more, I have so many men under my command. They would never let a sick man exhaust himself,” Lu Liting said with a smile.
The place Su Qin Xuan was heading to was Guihai, the outmost corner of the region. It was easy enough to find. Yu Shaohua had already made arrangements the previous day, so there was no need for any further trouble. They went straight ahead, turned a corner, and entered through the door.
In the night sky thousands of miles away, several night patrolmen sensed the enormous disturbance and immediately released their mental energy.
Just as Jinchou eagerly leapt from the vehicle, intending to pull that dazzling beauty into his arms, his leg froze in midair. His muscles twitched.
In the end, however, it helplessly climbed onto Zhinian’s neck, hoping to use the height advantage to see what was really going on.
All the half-beasts, including Leo, who was suspected to be the spiritual leader of the half-beasts, welcomed her arrival with the highest honor of the interstellar world: kneeling on one knee, crossing their arms before their chests, and clasping their fists with fervent respect.
