Before the professional awakening, the three major races have six classes, each offering 20 trial skills for novices to learn. Among these, the Blademaster class possesses three trial skills: "Tiger Maw," "Inch Power," and "Dragon Manifest." The trainer said in a deep voice: "The first is through personal enlightenment; the second is by learning directly from skill books. The first method is extremely difficult, requiring tireless practice and deep contemplation to grasp the true essence of the skills. The second is relatively easy, but an easy beginning often leads to difficulties later on."

Fu Chen knew that this was standard information given to everyone when they first learned their class skills. After speaking, the trainer lapsed into silence, as if entering a meditative state. On the path away from the Skill Master, Qin Yumo couldn't help but exclaim with joy: "Level 2 skills deal much higher damage than Level 1!"

"That's true, but they also cost more money and spiritual essence to learn," Fu Chen reminded her with a smile.

"Is that so? Let me check." Qin Yumo glanced at her attribute panel and backpack balance. She immediately slumped, pouting in frustration: "I've used nearly 2,000 in spiritual essence and about the same in gold. I don't know if I'll have enough left for armor and weapons."

Fu Chen offered a knowing smile and comforted her: "If it's not enough, I'll buy it for you. I don't need new gear for now, just a weapon." The two then headed to the tailor shop in the north of the city. Qin Yumo sold her original light armor and bought heavy armor of the same level.

Finally, they found the blacksmith's shop to select their weapons. In the Perfect World, there are theoretically no usage restrictions on weapons, provided the attribute requirements are met. Considering the characteristics of different classes, the weapons used at each stage are usually fixed. However, this doesn't quite apply to the Blademaster, often called the "Weapon Master." Because at any given stage, the variety of weapons a Blademaster can choose from is vast, including blades and swords, polearms, axes and hammers, and fist weapons—with three to four models for each type. Each type has different focuses and characteristics, corresponding to different combat skills. Generally, a Blademaster will choose only one type of weapon in the early stages. Among the four, axes and hammers deal the highest damage, making them the first choice for novice Blademasters.

Of course, Fu Chen couldn't explicitly tell Qin Yumo this without a long explanation. So, he tactfully suggested: "Huang, I've looked closely at the melee weapons; I suggest choosing a polearm or an axe and hammer."

"Fine, let's go." Fu Chen knew she wanted to test out her new skills and didn't waste any more words.

At Four-Directions Village, they stepped out of the teleporter and headed straight to Ant-Gathering Mountain to finish their Level 8 quest. The quest required them to slay Wild Wolves, Hundred-Step Snakes, and Demon Ox Porters. All three types were at the western foot of Ant-Gathering Mountain, saving them the time of traveling around.

"Use 'Dragon Manifest' to hit it! That's a ranged skill!" Fu Chen reminded her, focusing on the oncoming Demon Ox Porter. When the monster closed in, Fu Chen unleashed "Inch Power" followed by "Tiger Maw." Meanwhile, hearing the reminder, Qin Yumo fired off a "Dragon Manifest" as well.

With so few combat skills at Level 9, they had to rely on basic axe attacks after using their three skills. Luckily, Qin Yumo had caught up, landing two skills on the beast. After three basic swings, Fu Chen landed another "Dragon Manifest." This strike dealt 312 damage, instantly killing the already weakened Demon Ox Porter.

"Huh? What's going on?" Fu Chen felt something was wrong; a Level 1 "Dragon Manifest" couldn't possibly deal that much damage. He checked his skill list and was stunned to find that "Dragon Manifest" had already reached Level 3.

"How is this possible? I just learned it; it leveled up to 3 after only one use?" Fu Chen was shocked. A possibility occurred to him, and he excitedly charged at the next monster, unleashing "Dragon Manifest" again. This strike dealt 496 damage, bringing the full-health monster to the brink of death. He checked his skill list again—sure enough, "Dragon Manifest" had reached Level 5.

"It's true! The insights and understanding of these skills from my past life... I can actually inherit them directly in this life!"
