Chapter 16: Snatching Kills, Leading the Way

Qin Yumo was both surprised and puzzled. “Is it really as exaggerated as you say?”

As soon as she spoke, she recalled the scene she had witnessed that morning while hunting young tail scorpions.

She then turned to Fu Chen and asked, “Hongchen, how is she supposed to complete her tasks under these circumstances?”

Fu Chen thought for a moment, recalling how newcomers in his previous life dealt with such situations, and replied, “She should team up with nearby players and wait for the monsters to respawn so they can fight together. It’s slower, but feasible.”

After saying this, he switched to the general chat and inquired, “Huang, are you and this best friend very close?”

“Very close, like sworn sisters,” Qin Yumo blurted out without realizing she hadn’t switched channels.

Zero, who was in the team, heard this and teased, “Yumo, boss, are you secretly badmouthing me?”

Immediately, Fu Chen said in the team chat, “There’s another way: you can go over to help her steal monsters and level up together.”

After completing the quest in Xiayin Village, Fu Chen finally reached level eight.

Seeing Zero in person, Fu Chen realized she was a completely different type from Qin Yumo.

Qin Yumo’s delicate, picturesque beauty was elegant and poised, giving off a cold, noble aura when silent.

Zero, on the other hand, was also a rare beauty but exuded a seductive charm from her bone structure.

Combined with her fiery, alluring figure, she stood there like a blazing rose full of passionate flames.

As Fu Chen observed Zero, she also studied him.

Qin Yumo quietly glared at her best friend, glancing at the bustling crowd running back and forth nearby.

After saying this, he headed straight toward the dense monster area. Qin Yumo followed, maintaining the 20-meter distance.

Once in position, one bent the bow, the other wielded the staff, and together they began sweeping attacks on the Desolate Gravefires within twenty meters.

Fu Chen’s first “Rapid Shot” attack immediately reduced the monster’s health by one-third.

The three-person team was only fighting level-four monsters, so earning nine cultivation points was already very satisfying.

Nearby, Qin Yumo was no slouch either. With her high-damage magic skills, she was killing monsters just as quickly.

Tianya Chizi added, “Exactly. We’re just holding knives, and they’re sniping with ‘big guns.’ This is so unfair!”

Zero, who was picking up loot nearby, couldn’t hold back. She stood up and pointed at the crowd, retorting:

“Are the monsters yours? Is your name on them? Just because you’re doing tasks doesn’t mean we can’t!”

She clearly saw that in less than half a minute, her cultivation points had increased by 30%.

Hanging out with the boss is awesome. At this rate, she’d level up soon. She couldn’t let these people ruin it!

Hearing the accusations, Qin Yumo looked at Fu Chen worriedly.

But Fu Chen smiled kindly and addressed the crowd:

“Everyone, please understand. We won’t move; we’ll just stand here a while, then leave after we’re done.”

“Alright, since you say so, no objections,” Tianya Chizi nodded helplessly.

Blackstocker was dissatisfied, “Why let them fight here? We have ten people! Why be so timid?”

The other teammates, seeing this, reluctantly accepted reality and fell silent.

With another Desolate Gravefire defeated, a signature white glow rose around Zero, signaling her level-up.

Fu Chen kept his promise and continued eastward with his two teammates, searching for higher-level monsters.

After passing through the Desolate Gravefire area, they walked a few more minutes and encountered a wild hedgehog pack.

Having gained experience, Qin Yumo was now able to handle these monsters with ease.

Zero was just along for the ride, leisurely picking up loot as if on a casual outing.

Six or seven minutes later, she effortlessly reached level three.

Qin Yumo watched enviously but quickly balanced her feelings, realizing she was also relying on the boss.

Zero knew the two couldn’t carry her forever but was still reluctant to give up the chance to hang out with the boss.

She coquettishly said, “Yumo, can you ask the boss if he can carry me along flying?”
