Xing pushed open the door, and the wind chimes hanging on the doorframe rang softly.

“I’m not sleeping!” Roshan, who had been leaning on the table, suddenly straightened up, and seeing Xing in front of her, let out a relieved sigh. Thankfully, it wasn’t the captain or the others.

Realizing it wasn’t any of the other members from the night watch squad, Roshan slowly calmed down. After taking several deep breaths, she approached the restlessly looking-around Xing and said, “Hello, miss, may I ask if you have any errands here?”

“I came to find Old Neil. My storyline isn’t finished yet, and the version is about to end,” Xing explained to Roshan.

“Storyline? Um, what does that mean? I don’t really understand,” Roshan replied, clearly confused.

Indeed, for Roshan, who wasn’t an extraordinary being, her spiritual perception was still too low. Even with a master’s guidance, she couldn’t see through the truth of this world.

Xing sighed sadly.

Seeing Xing sigh for no apparent reason, Roshan, although not understanding why, felt somewhat guilty.

Xing naturally sat down on the guest sofa, gently patting the seat beside her. “I see, you really don’t get it.”

“Get it… get what?” Roshan still didn’t understand.

“Want to understand?” Xing lowered her voice, slightly leaning over and taking out her phone. “I have something good here.”

“Something good? Is it this cube?” Roshan, drawn by some mysterious force, found herself sitting beside Xing.

“What cube? This is a phone,” Xing said.

Xing placed the phone between them, the screen lighting up. “Come on, just watch and you’ll know. Come, come.”

The screen emitted a white glow, illuminating the path before Roshan’s eyes. Then, a logo slowly appeared in the center of the screen.

Honkai: Star Barrel Railway.

The logo faded, revealing a long stone corridor in the center of the screen. The overall scene was blue-toned, with grayish-blue mist drifting by. On both sides of the corridor stood vintage-style stone pillars.

At the end of the corridor was a door exuding a strong sense of technology. The door gradually moved closer toward the screen, capturing Roshan’s gaze as she stared intently.

The door opened, and behind it stood a trash bin with four limbs, facing away from the screen.

The trash bin turned around, facing the screen with arms crossed, and a mechanical voice echoed:

“Captain on the bridge.”

In Roshan’s eyes, reflected in the bin, it was as if a new world’s door had been pushed open.

Xing leaned close to Roshan’s ear, whispering like an ancient god tempting an innocent girl into downfall.

“I also have a spare device here. Come, I’ll help you register an account.”

Roshan nodded instinctively.

………

After work, Old Neil and Leonard ascended from the underground weapons vault, chatting. Before they appeared, Roshan’s noisy voice reached Old Neil’s ears.

“How strong is this ‘Impure Barrel Reincarnation: Thousand Barrel Hashirama’? I just got it on my guaranteed 330th pull.”

“Oh, that’s a support character, Yuhabara’s special partner. Just pair them together. Very useful. It’s especially good for fighting Barrel Name Ichiro. This weird mechanic is nasty—after you take down the first life bar, it will commit suicide and summon Sun God Monkey Barrel Luffy.”

Old Neil reached the reception hall and saw the two sprawled on the sofa. “Good evening, Miss Xing.”

“Please don’t call me by my real name. I’ll be banished back to the subspace if you do,” Xing said seriously as she put down her phone, correcting Old Neil’s mistake.

“Alright, Miss Bosang,” Old Neil adjusted his address. “What are you two up to?”

“I’m showing Roshan how to play the game.” Xing handed the screen over to Old Neil. Leonard, curious, also leaned in to look at the glowing device.

Xing’s gaze passed over Old Neil, meeting an eyelash-less eye.

Xing blinked, and the eye blinked back.

The eye looked at the phone screen, and its once lifeless gaze seemed to gain a spark.

At night, Klein lay on his bed, staring at the ceiling.

Celris had told him he would have a lucid dream tonight. This made him slightly nervous, which ironically made it harder for him to fall asleep the more he tried.

He took a deep breath and used meditation techniques to relax himself. Gradually, he felt his consciousness sinking. Eventually, he fell asleep.

He sensed his consciousness drifting into a dimly lit room.

The next moment, he woke up clearly and saw several large characters floating before him.

Simulated Universe.
