After finishing their tasks, the two had lunch together.

Less than fifteen minutes after lunch, Jiang Han received a call from his mother.

“Son, why don’t you bring your fiancée over for a meal at home?” Lin Yu asked.

“Mom, there’s no need to rush. We just officially started dating yesterday,” Jiang Han replied.

“That doesn’t stop us from having a meal together.”

“I’m afraid it might scare her off. Let’s wait a while. It’s not like it’s the first day of dating that we need to meet the parents.”

“Alright, I’ll hang up first,” Jiang Han said, ending the call.

About an hour later, Jiang Han received a same-city delivery.

He saw it was sent by his mother.

Soon after, he received a message from her.

“Son, the package has arrived. These are gifts for your fiancée.”

“Remember to praise your mother properly. I’m not the kind of mother-in-law who’s hard to get along with.”

Jiang Han rubbed his forehead; his mother was really eager for grandchildren.

After signing for the package, he put the items away.

Nan Chu went to freshen up.

When Nan Chu came out, Jiang Han handed her the gifts. “These are from my mom.”

Nan Chu looked them over—necklaces, bracelets, and the like. They were quite expensive.

“Isn’t this too extravagant?”

“Just accept them since they’re from her.”

“My mom has been preparing these gifts for years but never had the chance to give them,” Jiang Han explained. “Now that she finally can, she’s overjoyed. She even wanted to have a meal with you, but I was afraid you’d be scared, so I declined.”

“That’s fine. Having a meal together is no big deal,” Nan Chu said, feeling there was nothing wrong with that.

“Are you willing to meet my parents and have a meal with us? Don’t you think it’s too soon?”

“No, they’re your parents. I believe they must be wonderful people; otherwise, they wouldn’t have raised someone as good as you,” Nan Chu said sincerely.

Jiang Han was subtly complimented and happily hugged Nan Chu. “Alright, I’ll call my mom later. We’ll have dinner together tonight.”

That evening, Jiang Han took Nan Chu to his home.

“Auntie, these flowers are for you.”

“Thank you.” Lin Yu hadn’t expected Nan Chu to bring her flowers; it was a pleasant surprise.

Besides the flowers, Nan Chu had also prepared other gifts—jewelry she had acquired during her past experiences in the infinite world.

Jiang Han’s father, Jiang Feng, was a man of few words, always wearing a stern expression.

Yet Nan Chu was not intimidated. She smiled sweetly at Jiang Feng. “Uncle, I heard you like fishing. This is a fishing rod for you. If there’s a chance, I’d love to go fishing with you. I’m quite good at it.”

During her time in the infinite world, she had once been stranded on a deserted island while doing an infinite dungeon. Her sea fishing skills had improved considerably there.

Jiang Feng replied, “Oh? I have time tomorrow. How about we go fishing?”

“That sounds great.” She had no other plans anyway.

Nan Chu accompanied Jiang Feng, and Lin Yu began chatting with them.

After a while, both Lin Yu and Jiang Feng thought to themselves that this girl was quite impressive.

After dinner, Jiang Han and Nan Chu stayed at the old family home.

Nan Chu hadn’t brought any change of clothes, so Lin Yu brought her some new clothes to change into.

As for undergarments, Nan Chu had plenty stored in her warehouse.

“Good night, girlfriend.”

“Good night.”

“Girlfriend, may I have a goodnight kiss?” Jiang Han gazed at Nan Chu’s rosy lips.

Nan Chu stepped forward, lifted her head, and kissed Jiang Han. Just as they were about to part, Jiang Han pulled her tightly, deepening the kiss.

After two minutes of a passionate kiss, Jiang Han finally let go. “I’m going to my room now. Sleep early, girlfriend.”

He feared that if they kissed any more, something might happen.

Jiang Han left the room and went to rest next door.

The next morning, Nan Chu woke early and practiced a set of martial arts forms in her room.

Afterward, she freshened up and went downstairs.

After breakfast, the four of them went fishing together.

Jiang Han and Lin Yu accompanied them but showed little interest in fishing, preferring to play on their phones while watching Nan Chu and Jiang Feng fish.

Jiang Feng could tell from Nan Chu’s technique that she wasn’t boasting—she really knew how to fish.

Nan Chu’s luck was also good; soon she caught a fish.

Jiang Han took a photo of the moment Nan Chu caught a fish.

He posted it on Weibo: “Girlfriend fishing with my dad, and she caught the first fish.”

Comments flooded in:

Heart Without Toronto: “Meeting the parents already? Are they getting engaged soon?”

Ring Bird Net: “Pretty fast, already introduced the parents.”

Mood: “Wow, she’s amazing and can fish too.”

Jiangnan Misty Journey: “[Surprised face] Wow, the Jiangnan couple is meeting the parents. Marriage can’t be far off!”

Cut Off Suddenly: “The civil affairs bureau will move in for you.”

Meitian: “Nan Chu looks so cool while fishing!”

Love Denied: “Love watching this. Please post more.”

After a morning of fishing, Nan Chu caught seven fish: three grass carp, two crucian carp, and two bighead carp.

Jiang Feng caught only one fish.

They took the fresh catch to the farmhouse, which prepared a full fish feast.

After the meal, the four went to a nearby orchard to pick some fruit before heading home.

Nan Chu and Jiang Han returned to his apartment instead of the old family home.

Back at the apartment, they prepared dinner together.

After dinner, they watched TV in the living room. It was the first recorded episode of “Twenty-One Days of Love.”

Nan Chu and Jiang Han watched it along with other guests.

At the Nan family home:

“Grandpa, this is the show.” Nangong Hengmo searched for “Twenty-One Days of Love.”

“This girl is Nan Chu, isn’t she very much like me? If I didn’t know that my parents only had me, I’d think she was a secret sister they had,” Nangong Hengmo said with a smile.

Nan Donghua stared at Nan Chu on the screen, momentarily lost in thought, muttering, “Feng’er.”

Nangong Hengmo, focused on the TV, didn’t notice Nan Donghua’s odd behavior.

When the first episode ended, Nangong Hengmo helped Nan Donghua back to his room. “Grandpa, get some rest early.”

“All right, you should rest too.”

After Nangong Hengmo left, Nan Donghua took out his phone and sent a message.

The next day, Nan Chu returned to Shanghai.

Upon returning, Zhuang Wenqi updated Nan Chu on her recent work schedule.

Besides an audition for Director Zeng’s film, she was invited to participate in a variety show.

It was a program where participants observed and learned about other professions; she would appear as a guest for one episode.

The audition was set for September 15th at the Piao Home Hotel in Beijing.

On the 15th, Nan Chu and Zhuang Wenqi arrived early at the Piao Home Hotel.

The audition was scheduled for 9 a.m., and they arrived half an hour ahead of time.

After a short wait, Director Zeng and others arrived.

There were auditions for other roles as well.

After waiting a while, Nan Chu was called in.

“Hello, director and everyone. I’m Nan Chu, here to audition for the role of Piaoxue.”

“Perform the scene where Piaoxue fails to assassinate the loyalist and escapes,” Director Zeng instructed.

“Understood, director,” Nan Chu nodded and began her performance.

She immediately adopted a cold expression and started acting.

Director Zeng was very satisfied after watching her performance and movements.

He then said, “Nan Chu, now close your eyes. Can you recognize us by our breathing?”

“Yes,” Nan Chu nodded. “But I’ll need each of you to introduce yourselves first.”

After everyone introduced themselves one by one, Nan Chu indicated she was ready.
